Super Hotshot wheels and tires😁.... Now this is going on the waiting list, while I wait for the shock tower from China....it says March some time😭

After breaking 2 pairs of u-joints, I spent a bit more and got aluminum ones.... In these pictures you can get a clearer view of the wing mount, simple jet effective😁 I also got the front aluminum uprights, and CPR Hotshot wheel adapters.

So after giving up on a custom front end, I decided to bite the bullet and order a dual shock front shock tower.....I went to work on attaching the front end to the rear end. For some reason, the top mounting hole on the Tamiya STRIKER wing, lined up with the inner most shock holes on the Traxxas shock tower😳, so with the wing mount from the Radicator 2 and a couple of standoffs, I hard mounted a Striker wing onto this Frankenbuggy😁 I used an RC10 shock tower that I had laying around,as a top side brace, it’s all very sturdy and rigid👍 Now I’m awaiting the drive shafts, wheels, and other bits and pieces, I’m really liking how this is coming along.....😁

If you own a Hi-lift, 4 link the truck and get short dampers, that would give you the ability to lower it a lot😁

Since custom builds like these, require a LOT of trial and error, I scrapped the dual shock set up that I came up with, and decided to give another set up a try.....still dual shock😁 Sooooo, while I wait for parts, once again, I started working on attaching the Rad 2 rear end, to the Fox chassis.... Using the chassis on my Traxxas Hawk as a templates, I cut, drilled, and counter sunk a 2mm thick carbon sheet, that will hold the transmission and arms, and will also serve as a chassis reinforcement....

It’s getting there, installed the grille and rear window, along with the Ampro center servo mount, 13.5 Jrelecs BL motor, the TBLE-02 should be able to handle it, hopefully, and MIP Diff.....I’m dreading installing the LEDs😭

Finally got around to finishing the Ampro Grille, Headlights, and Back Window....

Have you ever thought of lowering the body??

By the way, Shocks are just for mock up, I’m getting shorter shocks for the front, maybe 70-80 mm shocks.

Since I hit a bit of a mental block, on how to proceed with the rear end, I decided to work on converting the front end into a dual shock set up, and this is what I came up with.... I used a set of aluminum servo mounts as shock mounts/stays, all I need now is to fab up some shock towers....😁

Oh yeah, it’s awesome....I was on the fence whether or not Hotshot uprights would fit the Fox arms, now I know...I want to do dual shocks, but in front of the arms....👍

The 2mm carbon sheet arrived yesterday, it’s a matter of cutting it up😁

Is it absolutely necessary to run the sway/stabilizer bar up front if your doing a double shock conversion???

Once upon a time, I owned an original Tamiya Fox, liked a lot of it, disliked the rest, mainly the front end, never liked the look of the mono-shock....long story short, sold most of it, but still had a lot of the extra parts. Fast forward a couple of years, I still have the front end, and long and behold, I also happen to have a complete rear end for a Traxxas Rad 2. I think with some carbon fiber sheets, I can mate both of these cars together.....soooo While I wait for parts to finish the Blackfoot, I’ll be working on this....

Here are my Proline 2.2 Destroyers on a set of Blackfoot wheels....like the Rangers, these are too tall and wide to run without spacing them out a lot...😁👍

As promised, 2.2 Midwest wheels on Ranger Tires....they look awesome standing still, but they rub everywhere, the only way to run these would be to space them out quite a bit.

I have a set of the 2.2 Proline Destroyers to mount on a set of grey Midwest wheels, that I can slap on a set of stock Blackfoot wheels to see how they look also....just gotta wait for them to arrive😁 the destroyers will fit the Midwest wheels, they’re just a bit shorter than the Rangers.

I’m gonna do you a solid, I’m gonna mount my Midwest wheels with the Ranger tires, from my USA-1 build on the Blackfoot and snap some pictures, to show how’d they look on there, I’m curious myself to see how they look....👍

The wheels are 2.2, but they are too wide for the Blackfoot tires, so I cut the outer lip and glued the tire on the wheel👍

The tires aren’t stretched over the wheels, they fit as if they were on the stock rims.

The availability of parts for these type of builds, plus the 3D printed parts that you can purchase now, makes it more accessible to more people, back in the day, you’d have to piece it together out of scrap to make it look scale. More companies are getting back into the Modeling part of the hobby, giving us great scale looking products, there’s a chassis out there that includes a scale V8 engine, scale transmission and fuel cell😳.....
