  1. Thank you, I agree 100%, I love this Tamiya body, I'm already thinking of another project that I want to build with it (4wd though).... with the proper wheels and adaptors, you can tuck half of the tire under the body....I just received a set of RC4WD narrow pin hubs for the wheels and that brought my rear end width to about 184mm, while the front is about 188mm with the 1.55 RC4wd wheels and tires... I might throw in a spare tire to complete the bed, and still waiting on my MCI Racing decals....
  2. Here are the Holiday buggy gerry cans that i've attached using rare earth magnets, and another look at the styrene bumper and homemade tailights....
  3. Made a rear bumper out of styrene plastic and installed two off road lamps as tail lights and a left over stop light from a Jeep body....
  4. Thanks👍 Oh yeah, needs painting first and some sponsor stickers for sure....oh, some tail lights as well😁
  5. Here's a small running video.....This thing is pretty fun, needs a diff locker thought and maybe stiffen up the front suspension https://youtu.be/mbmPrlXOQMk
  6. Almost there..... Made a styrene half drop bed, and a box to mount the esc on and hid the light bar wires behind it. Mounted a leftover Axial receiver box. Gave Starlord a Raise.....thanks JennyMo for the suggestion👍. Made the light bar out of square aluminum tubing and Tamiya fake lamps, which were modded to accept leds, some lamp grills and Hi-lift 350 yellow lenses....
  7. I got my rare earth magnets in the mail and mounted up the body....on the chassis side is screwed on and on the body side it’s shoe goo’ed on....had to glue on a little piece of plastic in between the magnets to make it easier to take apart, but I can pick up the truck by the body and they hold.... Here's an underbelly view of this hot mess of a truck....you can see how the Magnet Mounts extend to the body mounted magnets....I also mounted a low profile servo and aluminum horn.
  8. I agree, I’ll get on it immediately👍
  9. Started wiring the lighting, still need to make brake lights and a light bar....btw, don’t mind the mess.....wiring is always messy🤪
  10. Added lights to the grill, I will save the Ampro Light buckets for another build, these will do for this build, still need to paint the bottom lense with orange paint... I didn't like the angle of the shocks before, so I added this shock mount from an STRC SCX10 lift kit, which gave me a 4th hole to mount the shock on, thus giving it a better angle. the rear is a little higher than the front, due to the battery placement, once I get all the electronics mounted in the back, it'll even out.....Starlord sits a little low on this rig, but he's a low rider, he wouldn't have it any other way, "The customer is always right" I don't know why he had to bring his Quad Blaster, but there it is, along with his chain link steering wheel...
  11. Thanks, I got them from eBay.....they’re Recaro cell phone holders....👍
  12. So instead of waiting for the SCX10 axle truss, I decided to make my own out of spare parts, and here’s what I’ve come up with.... The wheelbase is set, shock positions are set, and pattern tray is set....need to make up a radio/esc box.....
  13. Thank you, I’m going to light it up, headlights and taillights....😉
  14. Starlord sits in his final sitting position, I also mounted the Stealth Magnetic body mount... Aluminum SCX10 shock towers. I cut out the headlights from the grille in order to accept a set of Ampro headlight buckets... and it’s already sporting the Ampro grille insert... Rear shot with seat installed
  15. Starlord will be joining the fun and he already ordered his Recaro racing seat....😁
  16. Here are a couple of shots of the rear, to hold you guys over.... mounted the front SCX10 aluminum shock loops. mounted the stealth magnetic body mount Waiting on: front axle truss low profile steering servo and horn rare earth magnets to mount the rear of the body motor pinion and cover....
  17. A sneak peak of the body on....
  18. Welcome to the Club😁 Awesome work on both.....👍
  19. Where we stand at the moment, the rails mated to the R1 cage almost perfectly, the only problem Is the body....I might have to hack the cage to make it fit the body better. I also have to bring the rear axle in a bit more to get the wheelbase right😉
  20. Some more parts arrived today as an early Fathers Day Gift from my daughters.... GMade R1 chassis and SCX10 rails....
  21. Oh and by the way, Starlord is driving this rig....why not🧐
  22. Although I liked the look of the Hotshot tires on Traxxas wheels, I wanted to go with something a bit more “scale” ish, so I ordered these eBay wheels and tires...gives it a more legit look.... I also swapped the front shock tower with a CRP unit and added some headlights that I had laying around.
  23. For the rear I went with a Boom Racing Stealth Magnetic LED Body mount....
  24. It’ll look tons better once the mount is dyed black, but for now, it works like a glove👍
