Nice retro pics indeed! I will consider the red coloured one with the stripe. Yesterday i cleaned and refilled the dampers. I was happy to found that all of the dampers are in 100% condition! Nothing broken or worn and all original parts were there. When the heat here in holland is gone, work will continue asap. It's over 30 degrees here the last 12 days. Today it was 35 degrees celcius. Sweat sweat!!

I don't know wich colour i will use for the body. I'm a treu box-art fan, but for this beast????? I was thinking about some gun metal grey like colour. Using some parma stock car decals the Toyota should really get this rough outdoor apperance. But as i mentioned before, the bleu box art colour including the Hog Heaven decals also triggers my attention. Help me out on this one please

Thank you for the comment.

Dear Tamiya lovers,
You guys normally don't see much posts from me here, but the restauration of my first Bruiser is something i would like te share with you.
Sinds i've started collecting vintage Tamiya cars the Porsche 959 was the car i fell in love with. At a sertain time i had 5 of them. In the meanwhile i bought an sold many cars like Avante's, 959's, Gr.B's etc. I also had bought a Hi-Lux wich needed much work to restore. I sold the car deu to a lack of interest. Some time later i bought a Bruiser at the local auction site Marktplaats. They show up sometimes and there always is a group of about 100 people wich are interested in these cars (like: Renken2000, MaxHiLux and me). I bought the car and was planning to restore it. Sadly it needed much work and i made the choice to sell it to a TC member (Steve).
Suddenly there was Renken2000. He sold a nice mint Bruiser. I called him and before i knew we were talking for over an houre about the 3-speeds, Tamiya, TC etc. We made a deal and we arranged a meeting at a petrolstation near Rotterdam. When i saw the Bruiser i was sold. Very nice. It was driven not very much. All the parts were there and in a good condition. The body was free of cracks end damage. I bought he Bruiser and the cleaning started.
I began to strip the Bruiser to the last bit. Everything was taken apart en cleaning was the first thing to do. I cleaned the chassis with Scotch&Brite. It looks like the pads you use for cleaning pots and pans, but it is much less "agressive". When you use the Scotch&Brite in combination with water you get a nice result. All of the rust, sand, scratches and stains are gone and the result is a very little scratched surface. Then i found some german polishing product. I used this stuff first by hand to see what happened. Wax it in with a cotton cloth and wax it out with a clean cotton cloth. I did and the result was amaizing!! What a nice shine! The scratches from the Scotch&Brite were gone and behind the fainted steel there was a nice, clean and shining surface. When i used a cotton disk on my drill the shine became even brighter. The chassis is starting to look chromed now. Very nice and cheap solution when you not want to chrome all of the metal parts. I must recon that the axle casings don't shine as much as the chassis but it still is nice.
The latest thing i have done is taken the gearbox apart. I have bought all ball bearing and shims i need to rebuild it. First thing to do now is cleaning and polishing the gearbox.
I have a long way to go, but i finally have got myself a Bruiser worth restoring. When i have completed some other work i will post it here. Pictures will follow.

Dear TC members,
Is there somebody out here who can fix my Novak Tempest Hyperfett Pro Speed Control?? It's been broken for some time now. My idea goes out that one of the fett's have been blown up. The cause of the damadge is water. [:I]
I drove it at my last Tamiya Euro-Cup race some years ago. I had to drive in the rain to reach the A-finals. I'd reached the A-finals but never took part because my speed control was "out of order".
The thing is not progammable any more and only gives a full-power forward signal.
I can bring it to a local hobby store, but my feelings goes out to somebody at TC who can fix this fragile electro stuff himself. [
]Please give me some information.
Thank you all in advance.

Hi guys,
I've just read a scoop about next years Dutch Tamiya Euro Cup race days. After 14 years Tamiya Holland has changed there race-day program. There will be more things to do on one race day then just racing. Things like: racing classical Tamiya cars, Pimp Your Tamiya Car, concour d'elegance and drift races. If you want to race for the dutch final you must visit at least three races and must have a "racing licence" wich you can buy at some local hobby shops.
Does anyone know if these so called Tamiya Track Days are only new in Holland or are all Euro-cup races changed all across europe?!
Hope you guys can give me info..
Here is the link for people who can read dutch [

I don't want to tackle the guy that is selling this Porsche 959 for the 3rd time, but i think this is a fraudulent advertisement.
I have seen it been sold for two times now, for about 250 dollar each time. Now he's back again!! Be carefull!

I have been watching and reading all these posts about re-releases etc for some weeks now, but i think (forgive me when i'm wrong)there are some people which are getting way to nervous about re-re stories etc. I look at the Porsche 959 for example.
I bought my first 959 in october 2004. This car had been a runner so almost all parts needed to be replaced. I found out that finding all parts needed was a badword of a job. I had to look at ebay 10 times a day to finally find someone who had a buy now price for the C-spreu.
I had to wait some time before a NIB body parts set came up and a NIP MSC was almost nowere to find (except for the Dutch Tamiya importer).
When i look at ebay and TC now, there are many, many Porsche's 959 for sale. Runners, Shellfqueens and NIB ones. All of the parts are also very easy to find (except for the R-spreu). A, B, C, D, F parts can be found easily.
When i see this upgoing trend in Porsche 959's you could get thinking that some people know that Tamiya will re-release the Porsche 959. Same goes for the Celica. I had been waiting for a NIB at a reasanoble price for almost a year now. I finally bought mine and suddenly there are 3 NIB's at ebay and 1 at TC. Strange?!
When i look at it as a marketeer there are some strange wave-like-movements when it comes to different cars/models/parts that hit the market now and then. These movements can be seen as "people know that that car will be re-released".
I've read that many "older" guys buy the "toys" they used to play with and that this is a growing market, but would you realy think that Tamiya will re-produce some models just for this market?
I understand that re-releasing the SRB's and HiLux will provide Tamiya an injection of sales, but Tamiya just can't live from re-releasing models. In my opinion the market for this re-re's is to little to make profit at a long term.
In my opinion Tamiya is missing the feeling of the "old days". I have raced for 5 years, starting with TA01's. Were there any real competitive competitors at the time? Now days there are at least 6 manufacturers wich are selling top of the bill race cars. All in titanium, aluminium, carbon etc etc. It seems that real RC car innovation (for the pro's) is almost at it's peak. All of these cars are almost perfect.
When bringing back some of the older cars wich had there weak spots and didn't drove that well, the feeling of these days relive. I think that is what Tamiya is after.

The car that was run-over was the Tamiya Porsche 956.

Today i suddenly remembered that many years ago an Australian tv-serie was on tv here in Holland. If i'm correct it was called "hotshots" or "Hotshot". It was about a group of young guys wich were into the RC-hobby toghether. One of the guys moms was kiddnapped because she was able to produce fals money with somekind of supercomputer. When the guys discovered where the women was held, they used RC-cars and helicoters to free her.
I also now there is one scene that one of these guys got a present from a girl. It was a Tamiya Porsche 956. The car went into a supermarket and created a mess around there.
Maby you guys think i'm drunk [
] but i hope some one else remembers this series. I'm looking for more detailes here. -
Thanks Mike,
Pics of my 3rd Porsche 959 will be posted as soon as the car arrives [

I'm in picture to buy a porsche 959. The car is from bottom to top original with the technigold motor still in it!
It still has the original set of tires. The body is slitely damaged due to driving the car. The car comes with a bag full of gears, wheels, tires and suspensions.
I would like to ask you people if it is a good choise to put money in this car??
The man that sells the car asks 150 euro's foor the car. In dollars thats about 195 dollar.
Good investment or not?
