How to make my own saddle packs?
Ridgeback Racing Team replied to Ridgeback Racing Team's topic in RC Racing Talk
cheers guys I'll try it out. If it still doesn't work I'll take it to the modeling shop & see what they can do -
Hello guys, I have a problem. the sanyo 1700 pack i used to employ in my cars has fallen apart. I now want to solder them together to become a saddle pack, but the question is how as i have tried it and i can't get anything soldered onto the cells.

Haha no I think with a msc you would see the battery connectors melting or the resistance smoking like a small volcano... Better get yourself a proper esc! also with an msc and 15 turns motor, except for the melting and stuff, you would get a really short driving time.

i believe there is some guy on tamiyaclub who just cut a piece out of tamiya rally block tires and glued the two ends together so that it would fit around a mini rim... check out the mini cooper showroom I believe it's still there.

Hello guys, I have a tt-01 running an LRP Big Block, which gives lots of torque, but it also makes the plastic spur gear of my car wear out really fast. Should I just upgrade it to a speed tuned gear set, as it has enough torque for that, will that stop the problem? or is there any kind of metal spur available for tt-01 chassis? Any ideas or opinions welcome. Koen (Ridgeback Racing Team)

I think you should have a look at the specs of this motor, because Traxxas probably has specified the voltage range this motor can handle. Do you have a manual of it? Most of the times the manual will give info about these things.

Ford F150 lightning body on TT-01?
Ridgeback Racing Team replied to Sammy's topic in General discussions
I agree with mr pushrod that you shouldn't put 200mm bodies on 190mm chassis. I have a tt-01, however, and the 190m saleen body I bought was also a little too wide with 24mm wheels without offset, which makes me think the chassis is around 185 mm wide. Therefor I put the enzo wheels (offset +4) on and now it is alright. There are more tamiya wheels available with an offset, or you could try extra wide wheels and tyres like 28 or 30 mm. -
Which wheels look better?
Ridgeback Racing Team replied to 67CamaroSS's topic in General discussions
Yes I agree with Sjoerd that the 5-spoke wheels definetely look best on this car. -
Wild Dagger vs Twin Detonator

Yeah i agree with petrolhead. You should go with the td though, because it looks way cooler in my humble opinion... -
which motor winds
Ridgeback Racing Team replied to marq68's topic in Monster Trucks, 4x4, Wheelie Rigs and Crawlers
more winds more torque, less winds more speed. -
Lookiing for 2 small TT01 parts..
Ridgeback Racing Team replied to rcracerpete's topic in Trade Archive
I believe I have one lying around here, please mail me your address and I'll send it to you. my mail address is koenknaapen@gmail.com or rrt.tamiya@gmail.com -
There are twin motor esc's available, which allow the use of two motors of someimes up to 11 turns! I believe novak and lrp both do this kind of esc.
-
I believe the tl01 uses 0.6 mod gears, maybe that is part of the problem?
-
I'd go with the team orion though... good motors they are.

Hmm i guess i've been stupid... I've bought some carson corner markers, they're the flat ones. They are not really satisfying though because they make my mini cooper flip wheen I hit them... :-(

Need for speed on my Rover Mini Cooper?
Ridgeback Racing Team replied to Jorge's topic in RC Racing Talk
How it works with turns & winds: Lower number of turns means more speed Lower number of winds means less torque but more speed. Motors with more winds will drain less power. I have a mini myself and I think a nice motor to use with it is a 19*1. This will make sure your car will not have too little traction and it should give nice and long driving time. -
TC car stickers available?
Ridgeback Racing Team replied to ChrisB's topic in Tamiyaclub Rules and Site Usage
I agree, tamiyaclub should offer sticker sheets for rc cars... That would be cool! -
Wow that looks nice. It's got the new legacy B4 body doesn't it? Surely looks better than a trf415!

I agree with mr pushrod that it shouldn't be a problem

C.P.R. P-160F what Limit in Motor turn.?
Ridgeback Racing Team replied to zulu69's topic in General discussions
I know that around 30 A will do for a 16 turns motor while 45 A will be suited for 12 turns, so i feel like 160 A would be no-limit. However, with every esc the amount of Amps and the turns related to it differ. -
hey marsy, I'm not sure if a type r motor would make much of a difference. If you esc can handle a motor with less turns, I think a 17 turns motor would make a good upgrade for a tt-01, and the type r is 23 turns or so. I have a tt-01 with a 12 turns motor, which is really fast. Before that I had a 17t in it which amde quite a fast car of it. I don't know how experienced you ar with rc cars, but I think 17 turns is a good choice

TL01 Hopups - Advice for an RC noob please
Ridgeback Racing Team replied to Vincent Vega's topic in General discussions
I agree with gruntfuggly that ballbearings are ideally the first hopup option you should add. Apart from the options he mentioned, here are some other suggestions. There is a lightweight tl-01 chassis available with tamiya, don't know if it's much of a difference though... Also a good thing to install can be a ball differential which makes sure you always have enough traction. I believe you can also buy a 'speed tuned gear set' for your tl-01, which will effectively heighten the top speed. make sure you use a motor of more than about 17 turns with this, as you don't want to overheat your motor... if you have any more questions, please mail me good luck... What do I need for my King Blackfoot ?
Ridgeback Racing Team replied to TamiyaRC's topic in General discussions
Hey guys I also have a KBF, it has ballbearings, team orion 17*2 motor and esc. I have addressed the steering problem by mounting the servo in the middle instead of on the left side of the chassis, and put a tiewrap around the servo saver. It works excellently. cheers koen Ridgeback Racing Team
