  1. Merry Christmas Miga . Personally Ive only used the Futaba Attack 4wd T4VWD controller . Both left and right side sticks are spring loaded so they return to neutral on their own . Now a lot of other guys on here will knock it because its an AM radio , but I have yet to ever run into any problems with it . Unless you want to drive your three speed up to a mile away from where your standing ( if you could even see it ) there is nothing wrong with AM radios . Futaba's T4VWD is made specifically for the three speeds anyways ( even comes with a shift gate packed in ) ...
  2. Checking in from South Bend , Indiana . Merry Christmas everyone !!! From your favorite fuzzy Frosty the Floydman
  3. Personaly , other than the silver can stock motors , Ive never seen an aftermarket motor come with the wires pre solderd on unless the hobby shop themselfs have done it .
  4. Eeek! How much is it to just live in a tent ???
  5. I allways thought "WHY' was Will Haggle You . As in go back and forth until an agreable price is met .
  6. Everyone else does , so I don't see why it would be a problem
  7. Ok , not trying to pic on you or anything but a stock Clod/Super Clod is as perfect to scale in its looks as it is in the way it drives ( even the funky steering issues ) . Its based on the 80's monster trucks and if you can get a hold of any old video from back in the day you'll see that Tamiya did a perfect job of making the Clod drive and bounce around exactly like the 1:1 trucks it was meant to resemble .

    The Icarus

Unfortunately I think your rite . Though I do remember seeing someones RC get-to-gether pics which featured the Icarus . I forget who it was but I remember them bringing up the car a few times in the description so I know there are others out there that like them . Its is a decent looking buggy though Ive always been turned off by the crimped plastic hinge points on the front suspension . Remarkably the ones on this car I have are in good shape and still flexible , but Ive seen back in the day where that crimp point would eventually rip in half .
  9. Yup , I ran into it a few times the past few weeks now . Though to me I would allmost bet its Chris working on the website ...
  10. I must admit .... errr , well Ive never been afraid of saying that I hate anything prebuilt . Give me a kit or give me death . Though I think I'm probably worse than Alistair as I wont even consider buying a kit if it has a pre painted body packed in . I don't care if I'm just using it as a basher or something I plan on just sticking on the shelf ( not that they ever stay on a shelf for long ) if I cant build it and paint it the way I want to I wont even consider buying it no matter what it is . Have I missed out on some neat RC's the past few years because of this ? Not really because for me personally the neatest thing about the RC's I get into is building and detailing them the way I want and then seeing it come to life . Then figure out what I did wrong , fix it , and watch it come to life again . To me , though I know its not the case , XB's and pre painted shells is like someone telling me I'm not smart enough to know how to put it together or paint it .

    The Icarus

So at this point I'm just taking it as no one even has a passing interest in the Icarus . Come on , some one has to like it , it was Kyosho's competitor to the Grass Hopper/Hornet
  12. Ive always enjoyed reading your race reports , especially because your using classics to kill cookie cutters ( ok , not so much kill but definitely giving them a run for their money ) . Though I cant say Ive ever replied to any of the older posts ( or at least cant remember ) I thought it was time to at least say as far as I'm concerned your race reports are the only ones that keep me reading from top to bottom . Definitely keep them coming and may the RC racing gods bless you and your cars at the next race ....
  13. I can send you 5 messages if you think it will help balance out everything
  14. Weee!!! Im a Winner !!! .... Ok , so it was dumb luck . I still would like to see a modified Super Clod bodied High Lift
  15. I don't know Chris , wanting an RC based avatar on an RC based website seems a little unreasonable too me lol . Sorry , I couldn't help myself . Actually since there are a lot of websites that don't give you an option at all , or a limited "this is what you have to pick from" you should feel lucky if anything that Chris ( netsmithUK ) lets you make your own if you want . As Ive been a mod for years on other websites I can understand completely why Chris has it the way it is now . And if you go to any website that has no limit on what you use you have to admit that 50% to 60% of the avatars are not something you would want for a poster on your child's wall or even see as a smaller "avatar" pic . Plus as Chris has already explained ( twice now ) it would get out of control with people wanting to push the limits of what the rules are . Heck look at you now wanting to push the limits of what has been the rule ( with no complaints until now ) for quite a while .

    The Icarus

Oh , I'm well familiar with the Icarus ( a buddy had one back in the day ) . Sorry if I made it seam like I didn't know what it was . When I say I'm not familiar with the Kysho scene I mean mainly I don't know if there is anyone interested in this particular one ( the Icarus ) . Basically , I have no interest in it and am looking to off it ( trade or sell ) as I don't want it . And not being familiar with the Kysho scene I don't know if anyone would even be interested in buying or trading something for it let alone I have no idea what one would even be worth . I looked at Ebay but not having an account I can only see what is currently on auction ( which is nothing ) , it wont let me see completed listings unless I sign up .....
  17. Not realy sure if its a good camera but I use a Sony Cybershot ( its getting kind of old now ) . It more than does what I need it to do , though I fully admit it has more setting than I know what to do with ...

    The Icarus

Just wondering if there is much interest in the old Icarus . I bought a load of stuff from a neighbor a week or so ago and it has a pretty much complete Icarus in with it . It don't look to bad but is definitely far from being mint and has a mixed set of oil shocks on it ( gold on the front and some sort of black with aluminum caps on the back ) . I did find an old Kyosho stock motor in one of the boxes that I assume is from this but no pinion . May be looking to get rid of it but not being familiar with Kyosho at all I'm not really sure if there would even be anyone interested in it ( or if its even worth the cost of shipping it to someone ) . Oh well , I guess I'm just looking for opinions on the Icarus . I can take some pics of it if anyone is interested at all .
  19. May be a shot in the dark for you all , but I do know that if you run "System Mechanics" or most of the antivirus softare available out there it will wipe out the TC cookies when you run them . System Mechanics is a real pain in the butt because it will run on its own in the background cleaning things up for you and it allways gets rid of the TC cookies for some reason ....
  20. Well , thanks to all that helped out trying to figure out what the two sprint chassis are . I did finally get it tracked down to the B&T Sprinter chassis from the guys over at RC10Talk . Thanks again Terry for the tip . Ill update you all as I start to restore them but its going to be a little bit as Ive way over spent my "fun" budget for a while ( I just had to get a PS3 ) ...
  21. Well thanks to the replies and the PMs I have so far . twisty - Feel free to pass the pic along to anyone , if you want I can Email you the full pic ( its a 1280x1024 , had to downsize it because of the pic size limits now ) . Just let me know if you want the bigger pic . dazaa - all the pink/red parts are old RC10 stuff that had been colored with a dye . It was pritty standard practice back in the day for people to dye the white plastic different colors . The rims are old RC10 hop ups ( I do have the full set too ) , though it kind of sucks that they are green it is nice that they are aluminum . As far as the chassis itself its a complete tube roll cage with the RC10 bits bolted to it . It looks like some one just took a shrink ray to a full size sprint and shrank it down to 1/10th scale . Plus I have two of them so thats why I'm kind of thinking it may have been a production chassis . I only took pics of this one because it was the most put together of the two . Oh well , the search for an answer is ongoing , thanks for the replies so far though
  22. Wow , I figured Id at least have a few silly guesses by now ....... *sigh*
