It was a great day, met some top blokes and got my runners proper muddy! Highlight for me was tearing that huuuge pile of dirt up with my Rising Storm. The turnout was pretty good, and the weather was great later on in the day.Just like to thank everyone that turned up, and big thanks to my wife for driving me (even though she has the flu). My head was all over the place thinking what i had forgotten to bring so i was thrown the map instead of the keys! Cheers everyone, and cant wait to see some pics/video. modelmaniac[6]

Just got to put all my other bits and pieces into various tool boxes, its scary how much stuff you think you should take, just in case! Not long to go now, the weather can do what it likes, its going to be a great day! Cheers modelmaniac[6]

Just finished my ta01 scooby, ready for the upcoming clumber meet. Going to give my Storm a maiden run, now that i have changed the speedo and pinion. Then its off to my LHS wednesday for a couple more stick packs (just in case!) and then its just a matter of shrinking all my gear to fit it into my real car!!! Hows everyone else doing? modelmaniac[6]

How tight should ta01 ball diff be?
modelmaniac replied to modelmaniac's topic in General discussions
Hi, so i just tighten it as much as i can? (without overtightening!) is that not too tight though? cheers modelmaniac[6] -
Hi all, finished my tao1 rebuild, but not sure how much to tighten the ball diff. I have fitted ball bearings and is running a stock 27turn motor, and seems fine but how do i check if i have tightened the ball diff enough? cheers modelmaniac[6]

hi mate, cheers for the help! Swapped the rear wishbones over and hey presto, the wheelbase is spot on!! Kind regards modelmaniac[6]

hi all, i recently bought a used ta01 chassis and have just finished rebuilding/regreasing it. The thing is, the shell i was going to use is predrilled for a tt01, not that i have any problem making more holes, but the wheelbase is different. The wheelbase from my shells are about 2" longer than my chassis, so i looked closer and found out i have a ta01 with a manta ray chassis tub. I have an original ta01 chassis and tub on my shelf (f150) so lined both up and there is a def 2" difference. So what shells do fit my tao1/manta ray? or do i try and get hold of a shorter tub? cheers Modelmaniac[6]

Hi mate, i have a 16t pinion in my Rising Storm, fits fine. Its made by carson, though i cant remember the part number. Its steel, rather than aluminium, so very strong. I got one from my local hobby shop for £3. Do you live in the uk? Modelmaniac[6]

Im raring to go! Going over some of my runners and everything is fine and dandy, may pick up some more stick packs from my LHS before the day. I really cant wait [] modelmaniac[6]

All sorted now, very confusing pic in my manual but fixed now! Cheers modelmaniac[6]

Well ive found something out. While checking through some manuals on here, i looked at the ta01 Escort (58112), and the part in question in seen on section 5. Its SA4, and is called the DRIVE GEAR and fits next to the spur gear. The strange thing is, its shown in my manual (ta01 F150) very differently. The DRIVE GEAR is not shown at all, or mentioned in the back pages. So is the DRIVE GEAR SA4 only used on certain ta01 models? Cheers Modelmaniac[6]
