Hi all, just been washing and degreasing my ta01 parts before i start my next project and while daydreaming at the sink i had an idea. A while back, some time last year, i needed to strip down a lexan touring shell.I read on here about different methods and decided to give Nitro Fuel a go. It was only going to be a runner shell so didnt mind if it was a rough job.So i got down to business, and after a few minutes the results were fantastic! I kept on pouring the fuel onto a rag and was really progressing, when i decided to call it a day and clean up. Now then, the following day i woke up, and words cant explain how my throat felt/looked! It was swollen and it felt like i was swallowing razor blades everytime i took a breath. After a trip to the docs, he explained i had burnt my throat/mouth with the fuel vapours, i then remembered i used it indoors, while hunched over my workbench!!! DOH! Since then, i have only ever used it outside and very minimal, it took nearly a week for the swelling to go down and then another week till i could swallow properly! Anyways, i was wondering if anybody else had injured themselves while enjoying the beautiful hobby. cheers Modelmaniac[6]

Steve Irwin - AKA Crocodile Hunter

The work he did was astounding, the animal world couldnt have wished for a better friend. At least he passed away, doing the one thing that has been his aim from the beginning. Allowing us to appreciate nature in its raw form, not stuck in a zoo which too many people take for granted these days. God bless. Modelmaniac[6] -
Anybody else up for it? Let me know if the 23/24 of this month is feasible. Cheers Modelmaniac[6]

hi all, i was wondering who would be up for the next clumber meet? I was hoping to get to the last one but was still on holiday, and now seems a good time as my main runners are doing great. Cheers Modelmaniac[6]

Got to disagree about the "pitifully small suspension travel" as i fitted touring car shocks, modified to fit on my Mighty Bull (same chassis as BFX) They increase not only the handling but the travel is much better also, and they look cool! Take a look.... cheers modelmaniac[6] -

(Sigh) Its simple, when you have an idea, find out as much as you can before telling others to try it. Handcleaner for example, will always be handcleaner. Nothing else. The buffer idea, where can people get one? have you tried one? THEN post your "ideas". Modelmaniac[6]

Allanto, please think before posting stupid advice as some of our members/guests are younger and less experienced. Such stupid ideas, even if suggested in good humour should be avoided at all costs. Electric buffers/sanders? Acid? Handcleaner?? Not only is there health/safety issues, but anyone taking such duff advice and having a bad time will be less likely to visit us again! Do what i do, give what advice you can then leave it to the experts. Modelmaniac[6]

Ive been watching this "topic" since the start and believe it can be summed up very easily. If you want RTR rubbish or cheap ripoffs because you believe you might get a deal, think again. If you moan about the cost of a kit, then go and buy a "no brand" that ends up in the bin the minute you break something then your on the wrong site. If you want a fun to build, scale model, that gives endless enjoyment and satisfaction, welcome! If your after a kit, that grows on you more and more, from box to backyard to shelf, your at the right place! If you want a choice of hundreds of kits, thousands of hop-ups and limitless possibilites, choose TAMIYA! Thanks for reading. (calmly steps off soapbox and walks into the sunset) modelmaniac[6]

Ill pick some 16t pinions up tommorrow (my LHS sells them in packs of 2 for £2.50). Ill give it a good run at the weekend and then report back with my findings! Much thanks to all the help, always guaranteed here. Cheers Modelmaniac[6] -

The smallest pinion i can fit is 16t, the motor mount has holes for 16/17/18/19t Hopefully 16t would be better than the 18t i am using now? Cheers Modelmaniac[6] -

Hi mate, measured them up and came out with 14t. Off to my LHS then! Just curious, the online manual doesnt show holes for 14t pinion on the motor mount, how do i set the motor? Cheers again! Modelmaniac[6] -

Just to check, do i measure from the tip of the spikes (outside diameter) or the inside diameter of the tyre? Cheers Modelmaniac[6] -
