  1. Hi all. I had an expensive weekend when i took out my modded Rising Storm and blew my Nosram Magnum Speedo. I was trying out my new Nosram 4000mah pack when i noticed things were getting very hot, i am running a Peak Pacing Stratos 13x3 motor. I realised that, now i am running bigger wheels/tyres, i forgot to change the pinion as i read here that bigger wheels/tyres can put more strain on the elecs. After it blew i realised i had lost reverse and as its "plug and play" i dont want to run it as it is incase it shorts again and sticks in "forwards"! So, i have no Magnum Speedo, and no sales reciept, so no repair.... So, being a HUGE fan of Nosram, i splashed out on a Patriot. Only i have 2 questions, (this is where you guys shower me with words of wisdom!) 1 - I noticed that the Patriot comes with a "Fet Servo Lead", what is this and if i dont need it can i snip it off? I have a std tamiya steering servo, (as fitted to XB models) 2 - What should i change my gearing to? to avoid any more damage? I currently have the std DF02 pinion (18t i think) Regards and many thanks to any help. Modelmaniac[6]
  2. I can speak up about the Nosram speedos and vouch that i have never had any problems at all. I have 3 Tomohawk speedos and a Magnum and i would 100% recommend them. I even had one of my 16turn limit Tomohawks running an 11turn Tamiya Super Mod motor (before i learnt what turn limits were!) and had no problems, it didnt even get hot after 3 packs were used. Very pleased indeed! Modelmaniac[6]
  3. ooh ooh ooh! Im so up for it, couldnt make it last time due to having to many projects on the go but all sorted now. When you thinking? Cheers Modelmaniac[6]
  4. First things to check are that your car is geared correctly for a "hot" motor, most benefit from having the gearing changed. Also, check if your car has been ballraced (the white plastic bushes replaced with metal sealed type) as this will give the whole drive train less resistance. Then you can fit a clip on a heatsink, which......well...........clips on the motor, and thats it! It is fitted with metal fins which really do keep the motor cooler, and are pretty cheap to buy. You can also buy slightly more expensive heatsinks which have a built in fan, these are connected to the reciever and clip on the motor and use a tiny amount of power. You can also cut ventilation holes in your shell to allow more air to circulate "under the lid". Hope this helps. Modelmaniac[6]
  5. hi all, just wondering if the universal drive shafts from my tt01 will fit my rising storm? Curious as lots of the chassis parts are similar. Thanks in advance. Regards Modelmaniac[6]
  6. Just cant wait for this baby! http://www.filmwad.com/out.phtml?u=http%3A...ersmovie.com%2F (If clip does not play straight away, click TRAILERS and scroll down for TRANSFORMERS) (Requires Shockwave) Cheers Modelmaniac[6]
  7. Hi, i have the switch you need. I took it out of my Clod when i upgraded to twin motor/twin battery set up. How much is it worth? lol I can confirm it is the power/economy switch (6 pins) Cheers Modelmaniac[6]
  8. Welcome to your new home! (mines a bud by the way [] ) cheers Modelmaniac[6]
  9. hi all, after taking heed of advice found on here, i decided to ensure i discharged all my batteries prior to charging them.My charger is an Ansman (the red one wit carry handle on top!) and charges fine. When i use it to discharge, im not sure if it is working correctly or not. When my batteries are charged i get a green light, no problem there. But when i discharge, i only get the discharge and power lights. The problem is, im not sure if the cycle is complete or not.All leds work fine, so i dont know what the problem is. (I use 1600 - 3300 stick packs) Many thanks in advance Modelmaniac[6]
  10. Hi all, just ran my Desert Gator for the first time and have to say i am blown away. I bought it from a fellow TC member, and was first impressed with the low slung look of it. Its fully ballraced, and has std Tamiya ESC with a 27turn "Revenge of the Monster PRO" motor, i ran it with 3300 battery pack, and i cant believe how fast it is!! Off the mark it is very fast, and has great top speed. But.......enough of my ranting.....my point is this, have you ever bought/traded a car and thought "wow" and then after running it for the first time, you are left speechless? Maybe i am just easily impressed, but im curious if any other members feel the same way? Cheers Modelmaniac[6]

  24. Hi all, i have a couple of questions regarding Clumber. Basically, i havent been before and i was wondering how easy it is to find the cafe that all you guys use for meeting up? Also, from the cafe to the running area, is it possible to drive all the way or is there need to get out and haul gear? as i may be taking a lot of stuff! (first chance to show off and all that!) Im pretty sure my missus and i can make it on the 29th, i just hope enough people are interested so it all goes ahead. Look forward to meeting up folks. Cheers Modelmaniac[6]
