  1. Hi, Does anyone know the Internal Gear Ratio of M03 Mini Cooper please ?
  2. Does anyone have instruction manual of Mantaray ball diff please? I have just replaced the ball bearings and I would like to know the ideal tightness of locking it...I'm preparing my Mini Cooper on the up coming 2005 Tamiya Championship. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
  3. Thanks Terry. Cheers
  4. Hi, Does anyone has a list or know a link where I can check the specific weight of hop up parts compared to the standard parts? My TA04-R is a bit fat with 1650gms in total weight. Thanks in advance.
  5. I see. I'll experiment the best FDR on the track (especially on the straight) That's exactly what I am doing, just to have fun )..and having a competitive car and the thrill of tailing the lead car is awesome, winning the race is a bonus. btw, tested my 540 again with ESC...no problems at all...actually it hit 19800 rpm..so I checked the voltage output from my ESC 8.0 -8.05V....and I tested it again on Dyno @ 8.0V without esc, 19600 max..so I assumed my speedo is giving the max output. Thanks once again Cheers *** 18000 rpm was tested @ 7.2V ****
  6. Backlash, that's OK. I understood what u meant ) I will find out how long the straight is. And if 7.38 fdr is still slow on the straight, I will have to lower the fdr number isn't it? Where is the ideal part of the straight should the top speed kick in? Hmmm never thought of putting it in dyno with ESC, thanks dude I'll try it tonight. Cheers
  7. Thanks for replying guys Backlash, I've been running Touring Nitros before but only on social games on a decent track. I guess I am a behaved driver, good but not the best ) My Ta04 is a rolling free car. Belt tensioner and bearings are fine. Ta04 internal ratio is 2.133 ...on 85/37 gear equates to 4.9 fdr. Yesterday, i dug the Ta04 pro recommended gear ratio from the net and tried the 128/37 (64pitch) and tried it, looks more punchy now though I haven't full tested it on the track and I will this weekend. 128/37 gives 7.38 fdr Last night, I borrowed my friend's Indy Dyno to test the RPM of my 540 on 7.2 volts shown 16800 max rpm..I further burnt it for 1.5 hours on Indy Dyno and now it gives 18000 max rpm.
  8. Thanks Sosidge..Yes I am using Intellect 3600s. Yesterday I dug from the net a 128/37 combination which gives 7.38 ratio and 26.82 rollout. I tried it on our main street and the car has more punch now on acceleration. I will try it on the track this weekend. I want to try first the 540 level and know everything first before I jump to stock or faster motor. But looking last Sunday's car running on 540s, they are acceptably fast ones.. Mine is really slow, so I just finish every race cruising around and letting them lapped my car (.
  9. Yesterday I competed my TA04-R on a 540 silver motor level and I lost heavily, 23rd on a field of 27 drivers...my car ate dust all the time especially on straight. I am sure I have a gearing problem. On my last (5th) race I used 85 spur and 37 pinion (48 pitch) which is a total rollout of 40.39 on my calculation. I found the car a bit faster than my previous heats which I ran rollouts of 36-37. Soon,I will be running my car again on 540 and 27T Stock motor on the 'same track' with lots of turning. I have tried different combinations and I still could not get my car fast/quick on exiting turns and a acceptable top speed on straight. I have tried using 48 pitch instead but no luck still. Some advised me to get a rollout of 40-42 for 540 motor, and 29-32 rollout for stock.....but it seems I could not make my TA04-R acceptably fast enough on both ways compared to other cars which is running the same motors but not sure what car they have. But I have full confidence that my TA04-R can compete because of its racing capabilities. It's just me I guess ) A friend of mine told me to get a front one-way which i will get. Will this do the trick? Here's my car specs. TA04-R 540 Silver can motor ... and 27T Epic Pro Stock F/R tyres Sorex 32/28 F/R Suspension 60wt/40wt Blue/White Springs 3600 Bats Novak GTX XS3Radio with digital servo Any advise/recommendations will be greatly appreciated guys. Desperately, Edgar BTW that was my first true competition and as I consolation I won 1st place for my job on body shell. A very simple one color paint job ) I did no use my original carbon fibre look Altezza, instead I bought the stock Altezza body and painted it with one color only.'Pearl' lime green (bit yellowish) and its decals, really stood out from the pack rounded sedans. I will post the picture later. Cheers Edgar
