I've been a little quiet on the RC front for a few months, new job etc...but have managed to almost finish my e-maxx project. This was originally a stock e-bay find...no more. Added a gorilla maxx chassis and wider alu arms, MIP CVD, new shocks, motors, just need to think about the right shell. The stock one is just a little short now it's 1" longer any idea?....
It's good to see all the other new projects going on....I've been thinking of converting a 1/8 scale buggy into electric next....anyone done this before?....

Having trouble with images. uploaded a couple to my showroom for now.

Well I think it's finished.......
... although a couple of mag mayhems may replace the 19T orions in time.
Thanks to some great hints and tips from TC, a few spare hours and an undisclosed amount of £ (at least to the wife!) this Street Maxx Detonator was created.
Hope you approve.

Hi all. Quick Q.
Does anyone know which universal joint drive shafts to use in the Twin Detonator? UK supplier would be great.
Thanks.

Finally joined up to the full experience and set up my first showroom entry. Thanks for the advice that has made the learning curve a little less steep.

Thanks for the advice guys.
My replacement parts were the ones with plastic ends[
], have now ordered the solid metal ones, plus enough to go in the Baja Champ Model. Although it's no Champ anymoe, more a beef'd up road bettle.Dean

Thanks James.
Any idea of the part number to order? Had a quick look on modelsport and tower but cannot see the right ones.

Need some help please as I'm getting dogged off with dogbones !
I've just about got my Detonator ready to run after ordering several new bits but cannot get one battery pack through without breaking a dogbone. The plastic ball joint in the wheel end keeps coming off and the "T" piece gets stuck in the drive cup. Usually resulting in a multi body-roll crash (lost all three lights today)
Can we do better?....[?]
I'm running:- M-sonic Super Truck ESC, 2 Reedy 19T motors (Parallel) and 8.4v. The ruck is ball raced. [8D](Must get some pictures uploaded)
Any help greatfully received.

I am selling a set of RC Boys Wheels and tyres, purchased for a TL01 bassed project but used TLT wheel and tyre set instead. Original box and almost new.

Hi all. Thanks to those who helped me last time; my Detonator is now running two 19T motors (parallel) and flying on 8.4v [
]. The standard wheels are next for attention and I’ve heard you can get t/e-maxx adapters for the 12mm tamiya hex. Anyone know where you can get these?...... Since I put the 4†shocks on the standard wheels just look too small.Cheers

Thanks for all the ideas, you've certainly given me something to ponder over the festive season. Guess i'll wait for the Jan sales before making my next purchase!...two new motors. Cheers.

Hi all. I’ve been browsing the site for a few weeks and have picked up some great tips. Can you help?..[?] I think the answer is “no†but here goes…. Is it possible to upgrade the motors on my twin detonator whilst keeping the manual speed controller? The twin motor ESC’s seem very pricy and I’m not confident enough to try the electrical work mentioned in a few other threads. Any thoughts / ideas……Thanks guys.

It's good to hear a 1/8th has been done before, I think that brushless would have to be the way to go, just need a good rolling chassis to start from. I think a new e-bay search is on the cards..
The buggy and truck options on that web site are awsome Andy...anyone done the savage electric conversion?..
