  1. I am planning on finally painting and detailing out my Kyosho 67 Stingray Pure 10 Classic Car body (yay for me). However, I would like to try and spray it to match my father in laws 1966 Stingray which is Mosport Green. See the pic below for what exactly that color is: The plan is to pain the body as I painted the Atomic Orange Corvette C5 in my showroom. Link: C5 There I used a mixture of paints in a series of tedious and very light coats to achieve the end result. As this body is basically a one of a kind and pretty much impossible to obtain, I figured I would ask here first before proceeding and potentially messing the whole thing up. I was thinking of using Tamiya PS-5 - Anodized Green as the main color (do you all agree?), using perhaps some of these others (which ones?) as in between/accent coats to get that truer Mosport color to come out: maybe some Fluorescent Green PS-28, perhaps some Metal Green Ps-17, I think definitely PS 44 Translucent Green and Translucent Silver PS36 , and PS 48 Metallic Silver
  2. Yes, paul is correct with his method. I find it the easiest as well. Warm soapy water, dip em in there and place on car. Perhaps drop some drops of water on the car first as well where you are applying the decal. Squeeze the water out gently with paper towel or lint free cloth, then use hair dryer and keep doing it til free of water. The heat from the hair dryer also helps the decal to stretch a bit where needed on tight placements, corners, etc, as well as warming and drying the glue for a near permanent placement.
  3. I will be adding more stuff as I get back up and running and see what I can make available for those in need. Please email me, as pm's don't get to me as fast, if you can. Thanks my member name is tarznatz as well... see linky: Trade Room!
  4. yeah i think white is the right choice in this spot.
  5. it makes the color look deeper, more full. All metallic paints need to be backed with silver to make them "pop". Also serves to protect the base coat.
  6. I am painting a body with Tamiya PS-3 light blue, and can't remember which color to back it with. Is it white, silver or black? Or does it matter as its not a metallic paint?
  7. Are you in a rush? I have some leftovers from the Rover Mini Cooper (from which I already robbed some decals) and I am about to do a civilian ride Mini Cooper S body for my nephew that is sure to have a few leftovers.... I am just waiting on the liquid body masking and some paints I ordered to get going on that one. I am in the states but could ship to you for shipping cost only... I can send you some pics after I am done to see if its worth your while...

  10. I am considering getting a Jeep Re release but want to know if it is feasible to waterproof the chassis for beach running/puddles, etc.?? I have never had a cc-01 chassis and want to be sure of this before I spend the money! It'd be great fun to have on our beach vacation at the end of the month! Thanks PT

  17. I had this same question when I started too. The answer...It's up to you how you wish to "restore" your cars/projects. There are no hard and fast rules. It also depends on the ultimate purpose of the finished product... is it going to be a runner, or a shelf queen for display? However: A restoration in my opinion is when you get an old beater, take it apart, clean all the parts up, and keep all the good parts that are still worth using and re-build the car to its former glory using new parts where needed. Technically, I would not label a project that used 95% new parts a restoration, but rather a "built new" (from parts) project. In any case, you can explain each project in depth as you post them to your showroom, and classify them (new built, restoration, runner, project) as you wish based on that description Hope that helps!
