  1. Anyone know where I can get the right capacitors for stopping interference. Took the car out last night and for the first time I've noticed, it took off on its own. It only got about 75/100 meters away. I'm running a TT-01, 17x2 turn motor, M-troniks ESC and a few other hopups. Fitted a schottky diode as recommended and grouped the cables as best I could. Reading through, I’ve heard bout schottky diode modules. Do these do the same as soldering the diode to the motor and where can you get them (had enough trouble getting just the schottky's).

Thanks in advance. Be nice for the car to last a bit before meeting a kerb!!

    Cheers

Just ordered the Spur and pinion combo Supergreg recomended, started reading the old manual to check how the motor needed to sit on the mount and it seems that you can't run a 25 pinion with a tt-01. Any one have any ideas or is anyone running one.

  4. Yeah I think I need one, recommends fitting the diode on the box. I’m running a forward only ESC so that shouldn't be a problem. Regarding the capacitor, there’s something soldered on the opposite side but it looks nothing like the capacitors I remember from school. It’s a small orange circle with two legs and its soldered to the opposite side to the motor power feed. Why would you want a cap as well as a diode fitted?

  5. Don`t suppose anyone knows a good supplier for schottky diodes. Looked on ebay and you either get 100, or 10 from the states where postage is the more then the pack its self and i`m not even sure if there the right ones.

Would it kill my esc to run it a few times before I fit the diodes to my motor.

  6. Hey all,

Just purchased a 17x2 Blue heat modified motor for my TT-01. Wanted to know what the best gearing option is. Its currently running with the stock spur and pinion but i dont understand how changing them will effect the performance of the car. Any one have any recomendations?

  7. This is my first post so hello all. Just getting into the world of tamiya and am looking at swapping the stock 540 motor in my TT-01 Focus for a tamiya Type-S Super Stock Motor. I`ve ballraced it and changed the prop shaft, just want a little more power for tyre shredding. I still plan on using the FET Speed Controller TEU-101BK, understand it takes down to a 23 turn motor. Just wondered if anyone`s used the Type-s motor and if it will run alright whit the ESC.

    Thanks for any help.
