  1. just thought i would share my fun and dismay at losing my ESC. well the Mtroniks RV11 is no more lol i just had a spectacular melt down in the middle of the road?.... i have to say it looked spectacular smoke everywhere under the car all the wires had melted free?... i now have bits of soilder stuck all over my TT01 chassis. so i am now in the market for a new ESC... i really did like the RV11 but i did not expect it to go bang running a 19 turn motor?.....

  2. yeah there has just been 1 go for around 16 (manta ray) i would like a 4wd one ive seen the ones using what looks to be a wide wheel base ta01 is that correct? they look cool and will be easy to fix n upgrade, also i have seen the dt 02's some of them look mint but over my budget for a light weight basher. to be honest i have had so much fun with the brat this aft i dont know y i would want 1 but everyone knows you always have room for one more lol

  3. hi there everyone, well as the title says i am wanting a tamiya buggy to bash about a bit, i have seen a few on ebay go pretty cheaply so i thought why not but then which is surposed to be the best or which one is good for hopups n bigish motors? from looking on ebay there seem to be a lot of Boomerangs & Manta Rays if you had the choice which would you choose?

just so you guys know i have a Brat n a frog before they get mentioned.

    Cheers for any advise....

  4. Hi guys i just stripped the threads on the front uprights on my Brat... can anyone tell me what the re-release parts numbers are so i can get on ebay.... i have tried looking on ebay and found one seller in japan jr-rc if anyone has used them? but the tamiya part number is not listed and i would prefer to get it from the uk so the postage is faster. I have also looked in my original Brat and Frog manuals and i cant see the part numbers on there for the originals?... or maybe i am starting to go blind?......

    Cheers again Ryan

  5. hahahah its sorted! dam that was frustrating! well ill show what was causing it and trust me it did not register untill you guys started mensioning screws....

    this is what caused it:

    66bd_1.JPG

i fitted a new one of these when i was putting the new adjustable suspention mounts and tie rods on. now it struck me at the time how dam hard it was to screw the thing in place?.... (some ppl may already know whats happend?) well the screws were long well very long and they have imprinted and pushed out the inner linning of the gearbox and this was causing the spur gear to rub and grind on the pushed out placstic. this was always behind the spur gear so i could never see there ...

it just hit me when i was typing an earlier reply and i went straight for the dremal thing and grinded the imprints smooth again and now all is fine! wooooo

can i just say thanks for all the responses and help offered it is greatly appreciated! also if anyone ever needs a TT01 building in one minute i can do that now and 2 minutes with my eyes closed lol

    Cheers Rye

Oh and let that e a warning to ppl buying any braces for there cars check the screw lenghts 1st..........

now i need to go buy some more greese to rebuild it lol

  6. Well guys i have done all you surgested and i still have the problem!?? its nice and clean theres not a dodgy mark or crack anywhere?

i have taken the propshaft out and the fastend the front up and still get grinding? if i tighen it full the axles will not turn?

    heres where i am:-

    haha am so confused?????

  7. Cheers guys i have just got in i am going to look at it tmoz as i am on my way back out asa, cheers for all the help!... i do hope its the screws? and if i is ill just get another tub off ebay...

oh and the shaft looks all good? and the little black washer thing is there between the bearings so cant see that been the prob?...

cheers again and i will let you know tmoz about 1pm ish for those that cant wait....

  8. well ill try again wednesday and see if ican get anywhere i have tried 17 times today lol and there is no muck locking anything up, if i swap the parts to the rear there fine?

This is where i am ther rear works fine as it did very smooth, the front however...

if i take the gearbox cover off and the diff out and the propshaft gear out i am left with the prop shaft holder bit, that turns fine without anything else, i put the propshaft gear on and it turns OK a lil noise if i push a little on it as in a gear box and turn it it grinds?..... Now if i take the propshaft gear out and put the diff in and start to turn it it grinds? if i push on it so to represent the gearbox cover is on it grinds real lowd!? if i put all the parts in together and screw it back up and try to turn the wheels i have to turn it real hard and it just clicks?????? the more i loosen the screws the better it gets but my gearbox is half open by then!?

am at my tethers end tonight and i have put it away, but walking by the bin it was real tempting to just chuck it in! thats how bad it is lol i have never before been so stumped by anything.... I am thinking of just buying a new chassis of ebay and giving it ago... unless anyone wants to try and fix the unfixable TT01 lol thats its new name when ever it get sorted unfixable is200 (lexus body) lol

anymore thoughts or recomendations please speak up or if you think you can take on the challange ill send you the dam thing lol

    Cheers Rye

  9. well i have narrowed it down too the front part of the chassis... when i put the differential gear in with i just get grinding? if i put it in the rear its fine and vice verse?... does this mean the front of the chassis is broke or worn some how? as i say it was fine before i opened it?.

    2449895284_ca82755a58.jpg

if i turn this by had i get grinding noises even without the propshaft gear in?

if i put the propshaft gear in and turn that i get grinding noises too?

  10. Alright guys and girls... my TT01 is giving me no end of trouble i have had it in pieces over 10 times and not solved this so i had to post this up in as i am in need of tamiyaclubs wealth of knowledge....

here are some pics and even a rudy video in hope someone knows the answer to this? i have even removed every hopup off it and rebuilt as standard?..... (i stripped it to add the hopup adjustable steering thats how this came about)

    Heres whats happening:-

as soon as i put the front gear box cover on and tighten the screws so its nice and tight the car wheels will not move? slicken the screws off a few turn (2mm) and the gearbox is fine not a noise crunsh or anything just as it was before?....

heres a pic of how i have to have the front gearbox so i get no crunching?... and then some real short vids of the noise i get once tight and then loose?

hummmmmm not sure the vids are working?.... ill sort them in a lil while if i can (gosh something else i cannot do lol)

Well if anyone knows can they let me know asap as i am totally lost and its sending me round the bend lol

    Cheers

  11. yeh i think thats they way to go i did give it that approach yesterday but i could not find the fault. if i take the shaft out the front still will not turn once i attach the bottom panal?

I have the alloy prop and full ball raced all round?....

its somthing stupid i know it?... but its just finding what is? its so strange i was fitting the hopup adjustable front and rear surspension and adjustable tie rod set as i am going throught ties like a good'n!

    cheers
