  1. Toys R Us do a skateboard ramp for about £20 for the larger size that seems to work really well
  2. When I emailed modelsport.co.uk re. the HPI super stars I had this response:- quote:The Twin Detonator using a very wide off set wheel. The HPI wheels do not have the same off set so I am unsure whether they would be suitable. The only chrome wheels we have with the same off set are the Tamiya ones supplied with the Wild Willy 2, however, they are supplied with tyres fitted. id="quote">id="quote">Bit confused about this really! cheers
  3. Reckon shopkeeper is right. My Det shafts are all metal in black with no plastic end. The only time I broke one was when keeping the power on aafter landing following a 6 foot jump - the sudden torque as it hit the ground snapped the shaft. Even with 4" shocks and using the inner wishbone mounting holes for extra ground clearance the dogbones never fall out
  4. To help further we need to know if it is a "one touch" set up. Does it say this on it? cheers
  5. Pardon my ignorance but ChrisB refers to "rally blocks". Are these a type of tyre or a suspension mod? cheers
  6. Mine are 3mm and are starting to bend at the rear, tilting very slightly to the front so that they rest against the rear body mounts, Jozza asked about these in another thread and the general consensus was to go for 4mm if you are making your own
  7. Shopkeeper, does the Ansmann discharge first? cheers
  8. shock towers were £16 (ebay), 4" shocks about £20 (ebay) cheers
  9. Twinset, I dont think my Det's ever been that clean! I think it came with free mud in the box[][]
  10. Got my Det number 2 from ebay just after Christmas, complete and built for the same money as you!! cheers
  11. I have my Det motors in balloons and the receiver also. Use quality latex of about 11" diameter and cable tie the ends. I had concerns about the low and exposed nature of the motors on the det, but I have not noticed them getting hot or anything and aswell as keeping water out it keeps dust and mud out too. See my shworoom for pics cheers
  12. Also set the camera to give a very shallow depth of field (wide aperture)so that the background is fully blurred out - like when you use portrait mode on the camera (if it has one). This can also cause the back of the car to be slightly out of focus relative to the front which can help to give an idea of scale, but be careful not to overdo it!
  13. Better than being Monster Struck!!
  14. The esc will already have bullets so will plug into your existing loom. The Shopkeeper (Neil @ Time Tunnel) commented in another thread that the mtronics 4 esc's seem to be very durable and can possible handle lower motor turns than their limit so your should be fine. I have an ECo 20 in one Det with 2 x 23 turns and it hasn't skipped a beat! (I would love a "bells and whistles" esc but this have to do for now)http://www.mtroniks.net/mtroniks_SC_products.asp?CategoryID=1&SubCategoryID=2l for info on the RV11 cheers
