That is right ! Good old Team Losi sent them all scrambling didn't they ! Yes, now i remember some of those rcca shoot outs, when they scored points based on different things. I also remember that for some time the Clod was king of the "truck of the year". Don't remember who knocked him out though. Keep 'em coming - I want to add these "rivals" to my showroom.

Okay folks, in an effort to relive my youth I would like to start a new thread (don't want to search the forums) with new thoughts on classic rivalries. I remember several shoot-outs between different Tamiya vs Kyosho vehicles in an effort to pick "the winner". Tamiya Clodbuster vs Kyosho Double Dare - performance was won by Kyosho here. Tamiya Blackfoot vs Kyosho Big Brute - I can't remember this one ! Any 2wd or 4wd classic rivalries ? Can be any manufacturer from the '80's folks. Let's have your examples & thoughts ! Kyosho Ultima vs Team Associated RC10 for example. I have the RCCA from way back with the article "Clash of the Titans" Part I where they pit the CLOD against the Double Dare. I don't have part II though - but I'm guessing Kyosho won that one. Although I'm sure they Tamiya credit for the "Ingenuity". Thoughts / Examples ?

The MRP High Roller was one of the first MT's. Came out during the initial boom of the Monster Truck world. The time when the Clodbuster, Double Dare, Royal Ripper & all those other dinosaurs were born ! (GOOD TIMES !) Very hard to find now I think. Here's a link to a COMPLETED auction for some pics: http://cgi.ebay.com/MRP-High-Roller-Tamiya...1QQcmdZViewItem Cheers.

That should be a good build ! That G-Made stuff is really something - it's a shame we don't see more of it. Funny - I've been thinking of putting up my txt-1 for sale to pick up that new G-Made myself ! I'm sure you'll trick it out with some well thought out "options" & "TWINSET Treats". When do we get to see the finished product [] ?
-
Well, RC4WD has some neat products, unfortunately as a business they are below standard - but that's just my thought on the matter. I have made several purchases and each purchase goes more downhill than the last. I received a defective item & was refunded - but it took a bit of pestering. My problem was as soon as I received the item - I knew it would break. How did they not know ? I am with TWINSET on this one - no more cash from me. Thumbs up to INETRC, New Era, jr-rc, Stellamodels & a few I forget. On a side note - watch my trades section folks - I am planning on taking an absence from the hobby & TC so I may be selling my Brushless TXT-1 & Dragoon Clod []. Cheers

Well, here is a teaser shot for the Club. Thundertech "Ripper" Chassis for the TXT-1. I am also asking the club members for their input on Wheel & Tire combinations for this ride []. Keep in mind I want aluminum rims. Any recommendations ? While we are at it - how about body recommendations ? Anyone ? Also all comemnts, ideas & suggestions are welcome ! Will update this post as the project progresses - but that will be a while since the f350 is soon to arrive. Thanks for looking.

Traderoom etiquette (Inspired by backtomyroots)
backtomyroots replied to TWINSET's topic in Tamiyaclub Rules and Site Usage
Great idea (thanks for the credit) ! Picture is worth a thousand words. I also am one of those who loses interest if I have to "dig" for the item being sold/traded/swapped or even wanted. -
New "Mandatory" Showroom Rule Suggestion.
backtomyroots replied to backtomyroots's topic in Tamiyaclub Rules and Site Usage
Great input fellas. So that settles it then - minimum one "body off" shot & when it's a re-build, restore, modified or full of "options" the more "body off" shots the better [Y] ! -
New "Mandatory" Showroom Rule Suggestion.
backtomyroots replied to backtomyroots's topic in Tamiyaclub Rules and Site Usage
Same for me. Cheers Actually - I think I agree [] ! Definitely Body-Off when Hop-Ups are added (even more so when they are genuine Tamiya). -
Good Day All. I was wondering if I could ask fellow TC Members to adopt an "unofficial" "Showroom" rule. I am a big fan of Tamiya vehicles - especially the naked chassis. I am always curious to see the placement of electronics, mods, hop-up options & all the other little bits. So, here is the request: How about adopting a "Body-Off" shot for the last pic in your entries ? I am currently re-vamping my showroom to comply with this request myself [] ! I know a lot of hard work goes into the build - it would be nice to see it too. Thoughts ?

Good day. I have my eyes on a set of "Standard Offset" Alloy T-Maxx rims on ebay. Will these fit on the Clodbuster/TXT-1 with the use of an adapter from New Era, RC4WD, Thundertech, or any other aftermarket manufacturer. I am assuming I would have to use Clodbuster Axle Stubs, also it has the GPM Alloy Steering Knuckles. Anyone ? Also, I purchased a set of Inet TXT-1 Alloy Steerign Arms - But the "short" arm seems way too LONG ?! I'm also open to Alloy wheel suggestions ! This is what they might be for.

TXT-1 or Hi-Lift?
backtomyroots replied to Saito's topic in Monster Trucks, 4x4, Wheelie Rigs and Crawlers
Yes - TXT-1 is THE choice to make here [Y] ! Probaby like comparing apples & oranges though. If you want all - around fun with a "bashable" factor go txt-1. -
SWEET ! Looks fantastic [Y] ! Can't wait to get my hands on a couple of 'em. (not a big fan of the BUSHINGS in the cut out of the axles though). Thanks for the update.
