"BronClod" - my first DIY Crawler
backtomyroots replied to yeti69's topic in Monster Trucks, 4x4, Wheelie Rigs and Crawlers
Welcome to TC ! That is some nice work there. I like the battery mounting method and it looks like a very capable truck ! -
Yes ! It makes the TXT-1 crazy fast ! Nearly out of control. The drivetrain held up and driving it is beyond fun. Makes for a WILD RIDE [Y] ! Here's mine installed: Here's a few quick video clips of mine running: http://www.tamiyaclub.com/movies.asp?id=74...n=backtomyroots Install it - you'll love it ! Just make sure you use full ball bearings and high capacity packs. Even with 3000 mah packs runtime was great !
-
The SHELF ! Well, I'm a big fan of the TXT-1. I have one built for pure speed with the HV-Maxx Ssytem. It has only been out for a few runs - I simply like looking at it more than driving it for some reason. So, it has been given the duty of shelf queen: I am currently building a special Thundertech "Ripper" TXT-1 but I get a feeling I won't have the heart to get that dirty when it's done either []: I know it's a shame they won't get dirty [].

Thanks - I'll patiently await its return to the menu [Y]. -
RC4WD faulty Hilux/Blazer aluminium wheels
backtomyroots replied to Tamiya Racer's topic in General discussions
Here is another good thread: http://tamiyaclub.com/CS/forums/thread/160638.aspx He offered me a refund but it didn't come until two weeks later when I told him I was going to file a complaint through paypal. He has some products that are pretty nice - but I've decided I'll only buy rc4wd products used and that I know are in working order/good condition as it is risky getting them new from the site. (The minute those "punisher shafts" arrived, I knew they would blow apart just from the workmanship [:@] and I am no machinist !) -
So who has the most watched model????
backtomyroots replied to akemag's topic in Tamiyaclub Rules and Site Usage
Yep, been covered here : http://tamiyaclub.com/CS/forums/thread/80382.aspx BUT, I'm always for fresh info ! Some of my models have since been removed from my showroom (some "lost" in the crash aren't returning), but here's my most viewed as of right now: TXT-1 at 1351 views: http://www.tamiyaclub.com/showroom_model.a...01&sid=7434 Clod at 1156 views: http://www.tamiyaclub.com/showroom_model.a...25&sid=7434 Jugg at 360 views: http://www.tamiyaclub.com/showroom_model.a...81&sid=7434 -
Well, that is going to be some ride for the young lad. Don't you think he should have had a go with it stock ? How else would he appreciate what he is getting ? Either way, I'm sure he will enjoy it ! I was a little older than 9 years old the first time I saw a stock clod but even back then I loved it [] .
-
mobias - the truck is outfitted with the optional light bar/headlight kit but that would be the sun reflecting. Oh, and the stock Jugg tires are my favourite tires too [] . brokenbeetle - I have the taillight, f350, & v8 decals to put on, however I want to repaint it, add the decals (the few I chose), clearcoat it & then polish it. Unfortunately my painting skills suck, so I don't know if it will ever get done [] . I'm one of those guys who loves the clean look, so decals will always be minimal on my models [] . Thanks for the comments fellas - still looking to hear about other future projects - I've dropped a line about one of mine !
-
Hey Shodog - where's your pack ? Or did you load your stuff into the young fellas - if so, good thinking ! Years ago I spent 3 weeks in Yosemite Park, King's Canyon & Sequoia Park. You got some nice spots down there in that place you call California [Y] . If I could do it all over again I would not have chosen the career that I did - I think I would have chosen to grow up as a surfin pro or something down your way !

Well fellas, in an effort to spark some interest in my Shelf Queen, she has been completely rebuilt with the following additions: Tamiya Blue Anodized Bumpers Tamiya Blue Anodized Chassis New Era Bumper Mounts (Polished of Course) Complete Stainless Steel Hex Screw Kit (makes it much easier to wrench on!) Here's a better look at the new rebuild: I welcome comments (good bad & ugly). Also, I had added a Thundertech "rage" but it was "lost" from my showroom: http://tamiyaclub.com/CS/forums/thread/167272.aspx My newest Project is: "Thundertech Ripper TXT-1" which will include the following: Thundertech TXT-1 "Ripper" Chassis (was very hard to find that one !) Novak SS5800 Brushless GPM Blue Anodized Steering Knuckles GPM Blue Motor Heatsink New Era Bumper Mounts Stainless Steel Hex Screws & Many More Special Items ! Anyone else have special builds on the go ? Please post them here ! Cheers Lads !

Worlds Most Expensive Racing Battery !?
backtomyroots replied to backtomyroots's topic in RC Racing Talk
HOLY COW ! Check this out [] : http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti00...=LNNLZ7&P=G -
I agree 100 % ! I've often thought about building one of my Double Dare trucks - but I have to admit the instruction book enclosed is garbage [N] ! Shame on you Kyosho.

Congratulations - have some pictures to share [] ?

Nice find ! My Local Shops don't have Bargain Bins ( I think the owners keep all the bits ! ). But, I'm going to make the suggestion ! I remember when that Associated Stealth Tranny was big news years ago [Y].

1. Sellers who refuse to give any shipping discount for multiple wins [:@]. I know for a fact that several small items can be stuck in the same envelope with little difference in the total shipping cost. One seller wants $14 US per item (all gpm products). Ridiculous ! So, I refuse to buy them no matter how much I need them [] (and I want them real bad !). 2. Lack of interest in Ebay enforcing rules/regulations. They are sporadic at best. I have had an auction cancelled for the title - but it was only listing the brand name ! 3. Feedback system (although I don't have an alternate system). 4. Ease at which people can scam (I think I am going to be at the receiving end of a jerk scammer who won one of my recent auctions - claimed he didn't receive item - paypal took the money from my account - after he waited only SIX DAYS for it to arrive ! When normally it takes up to 3 weeks ! What a jerk !). 5. Ebay fees. I could go on, but overall, I have gotten some good deals from ebay members & great service from some of the stores !

Tamiya Evo IV MS Alloy rim help ?!
backtomyroots replied to backtomyroots's topic in General discussions
Shelf Queen it is ! I went with the HG "Sebring" Alloy and man they are sweet. I even gave them a quick polish []. Watch for the completed car in my showroom in April 2007. Yes, April 2007 ! -
Worlds Most Expensive Racing Battery !?
backtomyroots replied to backtomyroots's topic in RC Racing Talk
Well, I guess someone at Tower Hobbies found the error - was funny until they removed it though ! Now, fellas, some of us aren't familiar with all the "text" speak so I vote for it to be beanned from TC, see here: http://tamiyaclub.com/CS/forums/thread/169452.aspx -
Have a look here [] ! http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti00...=LNNKX9&P=G WOW !
