  1. no problemon the tip, hope you got a lot of extra cash for one of em tho. i'm only on tamiya club. chris
  2. hey: I used to have an e-maxx. they are fast, durable, and go over anything ! Since it was RTR I sold it. I now have a TXT-1. it will blow away an E-Maxx now, but it cost three times as much as a e-maxx to get it there! Again, if I would have built my e-maxx I would have kept it for sure, you can't go wrong with it, but I'm a Tamiya man. One more thing, if you want aftermarket selection, the E-Maxx/T-Maxx is where it is at right now ! chirs
  3. Hey Guys: What a great question! The year 1987 or 1988. I saw several models that year running in this order: 1st car ever seen running: Tamiya Wild One 2nd: Tamiya Grasshopper 3rd: Tamiya Hornet (I saved up to buy it !) 4th: Tamiya Blackfoot 5th: Tamiya Wild Willy 2 6th: Marui Big Bear How's that for a memory! My friend and I saw a guy run a Wild One on a street nearby and we got the hornet and grasshopper, respectively. After that he got a blackfoot and Traxxass Bullet (yep, the old days when you built your traxxass vehicles!). Nothing but fond memories and man, that hornet was indestructible ! chris
  4. I myself am a Tamiya purist. My first was a Hornet. I do however own a Kyosho Double Dare along with my Clod Buster, as I remember the rivalry between Kyosho and Tamiya for the best 4x4 at the time. Having both of those trucks NIB is what brings back the childhood memories. I bought an E-Maxx a while back but it was no Tamiya (I didn't even get to build it) so it has since departed my stable. You can't beat the quality and realism of a Tamiya. oh yeah, and you get to build em ! chris
  5. Hello and welcome to TamiyaClub! Nice to see a fellow Ontario, Canada resident signed up! Thats a sweet collection you have on the go,just need some action shots now. heres a link to my Canadian showroom. http://www.tamiyaclub.com/showroom.asp?id=7434 chris
  6. Well, these are some fantastic trucks being posted. I am partial to the bodies with few stickers on them, and wow, TWINSET you've got an awesome collection on the go. I'm almost embarrased to post my pics! chris
  7. Good Day: I can't figure out how to post pics, (yes I saw the "how to" but I am not computer friendly) so, I only managed to include showroom links. The Txt-1 is beyond description ! Oh but I love that Jugg as well ! My favourite built trucks. Check them out and let me know what you all think. First link is the TXT-1. Second link the Jugg 2. Enjoy, and check out my other rides. chris [http://www.tamiyaclub.com/showroom_model.asp?cid=32401&sid=7434rl][http://www.tamiyaclub.com/showroom_model.asp?cid=28837&sid=7434l]
  8. hey, how you doing. I have to agree with everyone the only usa 1's i've seen on ebay seem to be built. I know I had to wait what seemed like years to snag my NIB Double Dare. Good luck with that quest and if anyone sees another NIB Double Dare let me know [], so I can keep a NIB and build one too! cheers chris.
  9. good day: i also run the hv-maxx brushless system and the truck is nearly uncontrollable. however, i can't comment on the stock kit as i didn't run it stock. i have noticed that it is used by many nearly stock for rock crawling and you can't go wrong with the txt-1 whatever way you use it ! check my txt-1 here: http://www.tamiyaclub.com/showroom_model.a...=32401&sid=7434 chris
  10. Hey: I have a txt-1 which is four wheel steering. I use a 3 channel JR Racing xri3 radio with two hitec servos. I have the steering servo in channel 2 and the second servo in the 3rd channel. I followed the "mixing" instructions in the manual for the transmitter and it worked out so that the second servo works in unison with the steering input from the steering channel. Over here, in canada those transmitters aren't too expensive but I dont know about where you are living. To mix the third channel was only a few steps and the JR comes with one fairly decent servo and a second wouldnt be much more. hope this helps. chris
  11. Hey fellas, I'm in Cambridge, just west of Toronto about an hour, I would be willing to attend if I'm available. chris gilmour
  12. Good Day: I just built my TXT-1 with a Novak HV-Maxx Brushless, its AWESOME I would recommend that for a setup ! chris

  14. Good Day Mike: Hop, twist and grunt! I'll take it that is a good sight. Thanks for the info. Maybe I will leave them unlocked to begin. Any other opinions anyone ? keep in mind I'll be using the novak hv maxx brushless (if that makes a difference)
  15. Good Day everyone: I am soon to begin building my TXT-1 outfitted with the new Novak HV MAXX Brushless system (see my showroom). My question is this: Should I lock the diffs ? The truck will be for fun and basically backyard bashing. WIll it be beneficial or detrimental ? Any suggestions/opinions would be greatly appreciated. chris gilmour
  16. hello. i have both a jugg and a txt-1. my jugg is a shelf queen, so I can't help with the gearing questions, however the drivetrain is the same as the txt-1. i am currently bulding mine with the new hv-maxx brushless system. i believe the members that crawl/climb have lower tooth pinions than the stock one and also lock the diffs in their vehicles with JB Weld to help it climb.
  17. Thanks TWINSET. Do you recommend any particular type of rim or tire? I am partial to the look of the Imex Puller and the stock Juggernaut tires. Cheers.
  18. Good Day Everyone. I will be building a txt-1 in the spring. Can anyone recommend a good place for some beadlock rims and good tires. I like aluminum rims but don't want to be gluing tires to them... I am after the look of a Crawler but will be building for general purpose bashing. I like the beadlock rims and Imex puller tires on RCWD.com but man, they seem expensive, or is that what I should expect to pay? Cheers, Chris Gilmour
  19. Hello, thanks for the reply. also I forgot to say hello to all Tamiya Club members when I joined a few weeks ago, so here we go, Hello everyone. I am looking forward to sharing the tamiya experience. Christopher Gilmour
  20. Good Day All: I'm new to the club. I will be building a txt-1 in the spring. I would like to know if anyone has used the new HV-MAXX brushless system in one yet and the results. Any other motor/speedo combos you can recommend for decent speed/runtime? Also has anyone used the products from xtreme racing (carbon fiber)? Also, I welcome your comments on my showroom which will be growing in the near future. Thanks, christopher gilmour
