  1. Thread idea - post your favourite photo of your favourite r/c currently still in your collection. Start I will. InetRC Bat Chassis TXT-1.
  2. Hands down my favourite r/c car on all of Tamiyaclub. No joke. I plan on ordering all your bits to build one.
  3. Once all the parts are in and I get the time to build I'll have the photos and thread updated - patience I ask . . . . .
  4. Um, buy a proper short course if you plan on running with other SC's. Unless of course, you enjoy a real challenge I suppose.
  5. Just arrived in the mail: Futaba Futaba Attack 4YWD Radio/ReceiverJust Ordered from RC4WD: Junfac Punisher Driveshafts Kong Winch Hook Just Ordered from Stellamodels: 3Racing WinchThe kit includes black plastic driveshafts but also some hideous red ones which I believe are stronger ones - must be a durability problem with the originals in the kit. Progress at least .
  6. I didn't think so either after looking at the manual online . I recently confirmed via email that the Spektrum DX4S does though ! (Through Horizon Hobby) fadi.join - you need a controller/radio that has a third channel with a three position channel. the servo has to have a left, center, right when moving. Most radios just have a left and right option on the 3rd and 4th channels. I'm not sure that radio you've selected has a three position switch to shift the transmission. (If it doesn't let's refrain fro suggesting he lock it in gear - defeats the fun of the truck)
  7. Can someone confirm that channels 3/4 are 3 position to shift the tranny ?
  8. Cheers mates.. I'm thinking all "monochromatic" scheme no real camo pattern per say other than some flat black here and there say on the bumpers. Since the only painting I can do is "one colour jobs" anyway !
  9. Metal Tracks for the Tamiya JS-2 Tank So, what has the Postman brought you today ?
  10. Tamiya designed the Bruiser to be used with the Futaba Attack series radios. They also designed it to be used with the MFC units. Buy the Futaba Attack 4YWD or 4VWD radio and build the bruiser with it. Do not add the Tamiya light units, they are too expensive. Buy the RC4WD unit I suggested, it's cheap and works if you want lights. I have several, I know. No MFC unit ? You will need to buy a good ESC (electronic speed controller) and a good steering servo. After you have built the bruiser and learned to enjoy it you can purchase the MFC unit later if you think you would still like to add it. Do not get suckered into buying more expensive items you do not need. Suggestions: Futaba 4YWD Tekin FXR ESC Futaba Hitec HS-645MS Servo for steering RC4WD light kit 7.4 volt lipo battery and charger (I use Traxxas) Build it up stock first, learn it, run it, repair it then add the MFC later when you are experienced. Good luck.
  11. Just post in this topic using the "reply to this topic" button at the top of the thread on the right or in the box at the bottom of the thread under the "repy to this topic" title. So, if I understand, you have ordered the following: Bruiser MFC-02 Futaba 4YWD To mount the MFC & speaker consider ordering something like this to make a mount where the seat would normally go: http://www.ebay.com/itm/WHITE-STYRENE-POLYSTYRENE-PLASTIC-SHEET-125-X12-X24-1-8-VACUUM-FORMING-PRINT-/281162511008?pt=Model_Kit_US&hash=item41769772a0
  12. Is this your first R/C build ? I had a look at my built Bruiser Re release and my new in the box MFC-03 unit. I think if you do not install the interior you can install the MFC unit and the speaker where the interior seat would go. You would need to make a custom styrene sheet to mount them but I think it would fit and yes a window tint would help hide that mess. Not sure where a good place to mount the vibration unit would be but I'm in a rush. If you want to skip the sounds and just have all the lights lit up a great option ( I have on another truck of mine) is a light kit from RC4WD ad its cheap too: http://store.rc4wd.com/LED-Basic-Lighting-System-For-Mojave-Body-Set_p_2345.html Also on Ebay: http://www.ebay.com/itm/RC4WD-LED-Basic-Lighting-System-For-Mojave-Body-BRUISER-HILUX-F350-Z-E0016-/291094261276?pt=Radio_Control_Parts_Accessories&hash=item43c691ee1c You must buy a full ball bearing kit for the truck if it doesn't include any (I can't remember if it does or not). If you order the MFC unit you do not need an electronic speed controller as it is built into the unit. If you do not order the MFC unit then you must order an electronic speed controller. You must order a 4 channel radio specifically built for the MFC unit such as the new Futaba 4YWD radio (Recommended) in order to use it properly. You can also use the older Futaba Attack 4VWD but get the newer one. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Futaba-4YWD-4-channel-2-4GHZ-Transmitter-w-R214GF-E-Receiver-for-RC-Truck-Tank-/281294268669?pt=Radio_Control_Parts_Accessories&hash=item417e71e8fd To keep it simple use this radio even if you don't get the MFC too. My Bruiser re release: http://www.tamiyaclub.com/showroom_model.asp?cid=115311&sid=7434 Let us know exactly what you buy and we will help you through the build.
  13. Ironically, I was in the Military for 5 years . That begs the next question, what's the best Tamiya colours for a desert paintjob for this baby - say if it was deployed to Afghanistan on "Tour" ?
  14. Good news - Ebay Seller got the Futaba 4YWD in stock - just ordered three ! Once that arrives I may be able to find time to crack it open. The RC4WD winch is big and beautiful, so I don't want it to hide in behind the bumper so I may grab a 3racing winch for that detail. Thanks for the suggestion bromvw !
  15. Which Bruiser ? Original Tamiya Bruiser Kit #58048 or Re Release Tamiya Bruiser Kit #58519 Original: http://www.tamiyausa.com/items/-/-0/rc-bruiser-4x4-kit-58048 Re Release: http://www.tamiyausa.com/items/radio-control-kits-30/trucks-36500/rc-toyota-bruiser-58519
  16. CROSS-RC Military 6x6 Kit & Tamiya MFC-03 Euro ! http://www.tamiyaclub.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=72845 So, what has the postman brought you today ?
  17. I'm as pumped as you fellas ! But I'm waiting for somebody to get the Futaba Attack 4YWD 2.4 GHZ in stock !! Any leads ? Let me know ! Stay tuned, but the build won't start for a bit yet. May try to find a way to add the new RC4WD winch to the front but it seems to be a bit out of scale or big:
  18. CROSS-RC XC6A 1/12th 6x6 Military Truck compliments of Stellamodels with new MFC-03 Euro. Manufacturers Stock Photo: Box: Insides (Chassis rails not pictured): Body (Semi assembled) and Bed Kit: MFC-03: The axles and transmission are pre assembled with a 35 turn motor installed in the transmission. Appears the beadlock wheels also have the tires already installed - nice touch (still to verify).
  19. Good ideas, I'd be happy with any of them !
  20. Foreshadow by Banzai Hobby ? On the homepage one line: PS. There will be nice surprise for you all in April - May 2014 Ideas ? http://banzaihobby.com/ Excitement !
  21. We've informed you the transmission will self destruct if you run it. Why would you purposely trash it and then shelf it ? Links to the replacement parts have been provided as well. That's a shame, there are collectors that would gladly take it as is and treasure it .
  22. Just ordered from the USA - thanks mate !
  23. Well, that sucks. Figures I buy the tank without the upgrades available . Great info - thanks !
  24. Don't run it and trash the drivetrain just because you can't find the upgrade kits ! They do appear I have just recently seen some on Ebay. Pass it on to someone that will restore it to full shelf queen duty . Those Juggernauts are beautiful to look at.
