Some news in my inbox from the big T. http://www.tamiya.com/japan/news/newitems/index.htm Of interest to me Item #58588, CC-01 FJ Cruiser, I think it looks great ! Will purchase . Another item, possibly for the Tractor Truck (Semi) line is item #56533. No info but obviously has to do with the transmission. Interesting.

56523 ? Can't find any info on that ? Sounds like something to share more on .

You could use a crawler brushless system I think ? http://teamnovak.com/products/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=2_78&products_id=433 Be sure to get a Futaba 4 Channel Radio. They now have a new 2.4 ghz version of the recommended radio: http://www.stellamodels.com.hk/futaba-4ywd-24ghz-attack-txrx-p-7604.html Also, full ball bearing set !

I would challenge that with some TRF kits or Pro versions of kits that Tamiya produce.

That clown is comparing a 1980's designed machine built for pure fun (specifically wheelie action) to todays modern standards. A bit one sided I'd say. The prices of Tamiya Re Release kits are reasonable compare to when they were released years ago (generally) but yes, you can have more modern items for great prices too. I buy Tamiya because they are Tamiya, not because I'm value conscious.

Nice find ! That body is much better suited, though will not to be found anywhere. That's the "maxx' size body, no ? Nice to see alternatives popping up for ideas. -
Some 1.55" wheels and tires may be perfect ! http://store.rc4wd.com/155-Tires_c_82.html http://store.rc4wd.com/155-Wheels_c_58.html They also have a large selection of 1.9" wheels and tires which I think is what you have on the stock chassis (not sure): http://store.rc4wd.com/19-Tires_c_83.html http://store.rc4wd.com/19-Wheels_c_59.html Great work so far, the interior will really finish it off.

With all those options I think you could have purchased a TRF kit like the TRF418 . http://www.stellamodels.com.hk/42270-trf418-chassis-wbonus-item-p-7844.html Of course, I suppose that's not as fun ! -

Easy one. Be less accident prone.3 trips to the ER in 2013. The latest ? 18 stitches on New Years Eve, rang in 2014 with the ER doctor stitching me up . (Wife not amused) -
You know about remote control cars don't you.

Neighbours ? Not so much. Co-workers ? Certainly ! I talk about the r/c stuff so much at work I've had the opportunity to set up several co-workers with kits to build over the years. This has included being given the money and making a trips the Hobby Store and purchasing the kits myself for them, attending the Hobby Shop with them in person and simply recommending which RTR to buy first. Great times and satisfying knowing that I've started some new folks into the r/c world ! -
Just checked the ebay store, some much more reasonably priced items ! Though, the saving has begun . . .. .. .. . . . . . .. .. .

TT02 Noob Build - By a Noob (#58586)
backtomyroots replied to StuartUK's topic in General discussions
EPA (End Point Adjustment) will limit how far the servo travels in each direction, its possible there is too much travel to the right. Does the servo sound like it is straining when you go full left or right ? It shouldn't. That's a start anyway, not sure about the not returning to centre though. -
Wow ! I bet he had an incredible collection ! That would be neat to know someone of that caliber and discuss his views and insights.
-
Crazy indeed ! I don't know why, but I keep watching that Van Damme Volvo ad. Epic it is.

Welcome ! Great thread so far. The pinion will be the same for both, order it up . For the servo, detach or remove the servo horn, power up the radio (controller) and make sure your trims are all at neutral settings for the steering channel (channel 1). This will have the servo centered. Then, re attach the servo horn, this will be centered. Minor adjustments to the trim may be required to the left or right to get it perfectly centered. If your radio has EPA (end point adjustment) you will be able to adjust the distance the servo travels in each direction. If you hear the servo straining at the maximum turn of left or right it can be dialed back. Constant strain will wear it out. If it doesn't reach full turn in either direction it can be adjusted to have more. If the servo turns the wheels in the opposite direction of your steering wheel, you turn the wheel left (or move the stick left) but they go right then you simply have to use the servo reverse switch (before any of the fine adjustments are done). The esc same, make sure the radio is in neutral adjustments before programming Some escs require the EPA to be adjusted to full maximum (usually close to 120%) before programming. The manual will tel you. Great job. -

That little bit of creativity really sets it apart ! -
A series of events exposed me to the wonderful world of Tamiya when I was around 12 years old. Observed a Clod Buster, Bruiser and Sand Scorcher owned by a neighbour at various stages of being run and tested Shortly after found an issue of Radio Control Car Action on the newsstands Following this and as my friends and I became more independent and explored the world, found a Hobby Shop in the downtown (we went every lunch hour to gaze at all the Tamiya) I was immediately fascinated with the world of Radio Control. I would obsess over the R/C Guide Books I was able to purchase or convince my folks I had to have. The rest, they say, is history ! A few friends and I got our first kits shortly after, mine being the Hornet for which I had to save allowances and birthday money to purchase. I'll never forget that day at the Hobby Shop. Sadly I no longer have that original Hornet but did in a moment of "nostalgia" find and purchase an dorginal NIB Hornet to keep and stare at - I've a re release to build for the running memories .
