  1. Hey fellas, thanks a bunch. over the next few days I'll take my dragoon apart as my reverse motor is in the front and swap it to the rear. hopefully that will sort things out. Oh - Andy, it's for bashing - that crawling is too slow for me [] - if I decide to toss it I'll send you a bill for the postage. I'd do it tonight but I gotta pack up one of my nib double dares. he's leaving my collection [:'(].
  2. Okay - here goes, does my reverse rotation motor go in the front or the rear of the truck ?! In the last few days I have read that it goes in either spot, it's killin me here [:^)]. I can't seem to get my Super Rooster and mayhem's wired/set up right. And they should be wired in parrallel for speed/power right ? Soon, my G-Made is going to be thrown in the trash if I don't get it sorted. Your assistance would be appreciated.
  3. I don't leave feedback until I receive the item when I have made a purchase. Sometimes if the item is taking a while to arrive I will email the seller and leet them know I have not forgotten and I am just waiting for the item. I have always had my feedback returned using this method although depending on the shipping it has taken as long as 4 weeks to exchange feedback [].
  4. Fundamental difference is the suspension set-up. Crawlers have soft supple suspension that has articulation you can't believe. Crawlers have locked differentials to allow traction on all four tires. Some also gear reduction units, low tooth pinion gears and motors with great torque. This means tons of pullin power little speed. Crawler chassis' are specific to crawling, four link suspension and 4 wheel steering. Racers are built somewhat different. Although the chassis style is similar in some circumstances it is how the set-ups are. Suspension is the key difference along with electronics used. Here are some examples of different types: Racer/Basher: http://www.tamiyaclub.com/showroom_model.a...25&sid=7434 http://www.tamiyaclub.com/showroom_model.a...231&id=2518 http://www.tamiyaclub.com/showroom_model.a...528&id=9754 http://www.tamiyaclub.com/showroom_model.a...278&sid=169 Crawler: http://www.thecrawlerstore.com/Xtreme.htm http://www.tamiyaclub.com/showroom_model.a...3974&id=169 http://www.tamiyaclub.com/showroom_model.a...338&id=2511 http://www.tamiyaclub.com/showroom_model.a...852&id=2593 http://www.rcguy.com/products/6040prokit/6040prokit.php Both: http://www.tamiyaclub.com/showroom_model.a...245&id=1676 http://www.xtremercracing.com/Clod_Buster_...Fiber_Parts.cfm [].
  5. Wow, that is a ridiculous cost ! Now I can forgive you for not listing one [].
  6. Everyday ! Basically just like to keep up on the forums and keep my eyes on the latest showroom updates - daily. You could say I have a serious TC Addiction and need some help ! It's also my Homepage on the internet so as soon as I get online there it is [].
  7. Cul Tech, that is pretty wild, calls for celebration [pi]. So, who's gonna have one of these awesome trucks first ?
  8. For sale on Ebay by the seller "cho78" get 'em while you can because I think I'll be stocking up soon [].
  9. Andy, How about a new built going up for auction for those of us that are not "do-it-yourself" types []
  10. Wow, can of worms here. If you want to have some fun out of the box TXT-1. To make the clod any fun the cost adds up too quickly, the TXT-1 is easily made quicker with just mod motors but the clod needs to be completely rebuilt. You can see my showroom for an example of each.
  11. My TXT-1 is fitted with dual Hitec 645's and have had no problems (although it is a shelf queen []).
  12. Yep, I agree, Novak has great customer service. I recently had a dysfunctional esc that they promptly replaced and it was done at the speed of light ! []
  13. Now that is something []! Just decided I will be getting one , now I might have to put my next project on hold ! Who will be the first to have one ?
  14. Hey Col87. To be honest my Dragoon is a shelf queen - I have tested it once I would say it is more of a "basher". Twinset had the "spider" chassis (in his showroom) and I think he was very satisfied with its performance. The quality of parts is unbelievable and look great. Search the forums for electrical questions on clod motor/esc combo's. I got my G-Made from a seller on ebay named "cho78" and the transaction was great - with lightning fast shipping ! Here's a link to his store: http://stores.ebay.com/JunFac-Store
  15. I haven't experienced any problems myself, actually I've had great luck ! Recently a member was contemplating an ebay listing for a part but he saw my "want" add and next thing you know I had the item. A few weeks ago I saw a want add and emailed my "for sale" add for the item he was looking for - bingo ! sale made. Of course I have had one or two inquiries that never answered me after my response but with so many folks browsing through or passing by the site it should be expected. Hopefully my luck will continue []. Check my trades section folks - you never know what's in there []. I have also had a few great experiences asisting members getting parts that were not available to them and have myself been assisted by a few TC Members to locate a recent addition to my showroom. Big applause to the following members whom I have had great transactions / assistance from: Twinset, Shodog, Cul Tech, Incredible_Serious, and a couple of others that I forget the usernames of (sorry fellas [*-)]).
  16. Cooked your EVX eh [] I would go with the Novak Super Duty, it's a direct replacement and rated for up to 14 cells/550 motors. Here's the link to the novak site/specs. Check it out: http://www.teamnovak.com/products/esc/supe...tyxr/index.html Boy, I really miss the E-Maxx I used to have.....................[].
  17. Great Topic ! My first real RC was the Tamiya Hornet when I was about 12 years old. I had to save a long time for it too ! Anyway, my first "race" was in grade 8. One of my teachers was always giving a few of us trouble for reading the Tamiya Guide Books and RCCA in class. Finally he told us to do something about our fascination. So, myself and a few other fellas made some posters for the hallway and organized a "race" for a lunch hour in the gymnasium. People brought all sorts of vehicles from Tyco Turbo Hoppers to Tamiya and Kyosho. As a 13 year old it was a challenge to manage the running as a lot of cars were on similar radios but we managed. It was great fun and one of the teachers even made a video. No real competition just a whole bunch of young fellas having fun - the way it should be today ! When I was 14 I entered a race at a fall fair with a new ride I purchased - the original Ultima and finished 1st in the B-main but it just wasn't as fun as general "bashing" with my friends []. Of course bashing meant each of us racing our cars up and over everything. My all time favourites that I saw running were the blackfoot and wild one !
  18. For pure crawling the Gecko & Stick chassis are probably best. However for something different check these options: My G-Made Dragoon: http://www.tamiyaclub.com/showroom_model.a...25&sid=7434 Twinset's G-Made Spider: http://www.tamiyaclub.com/showroom_model.a...278&sid=169 beppieta's Feather-Lite: http://www.tamiyaclub.com/showroom_model.a...245&id=1676 Also check RC4wd, ESP. Both company's make variations. Best bet, check the rides in the ClodBuster Models Sections: http://www.tamiyaclub.com/userrides.asp?id=65 http://www.tamiyaclub.com/userrides.asp?id=497 Hope this helps []
  19. Personally, I watch the TC videos because I don't have the heart to turn my vehicles into runners ! I get a kick out of watching vehicles similar to mine performing out in the "real" world. Also gives me ideas as to which vehicle I want to purchase when I finally do get a "runner". Plus - it's fun to watch some of the "carnage" [].
  20. Yahoo [] ! That is my red TLT-1 Max Climber ! That means all my submissions have made it. I must be doing something right.
  21. Just a big thanks to Shodog and an honourable mention to Cul Tech for their involvement in the latest addition to my showroom, my new Blizzard EV []. I have found this site to be a great source of information and has a lot of great members that help each other out. Just wish I would have found it sooner ! Cheers fellas, christopher
  22. Don't worry. ESC's come with supplied instructions, and you simply bolt a new motor in place of the old one. Bearings, as previously stated replace the white bushings. It's pretty self explanatory.
  23. Welcome to the TL01 world. I used to have one as well, I added a 19 turn Chameleon motor, full bearings and a Novak Rooster ESC. This pumped it up to a good speed but still gave decent run time and made it more fun. I'm a truck guy so the car was sold off [].
  24. Very good find. Nothing could be more true []. Times sure have changed and yep brought a smile to my face !
  25. Thanks. The diffs are unlocked (I think some guys lock the rear one for bashing). Any chassis will be a big performance upgrade over the stock one, you should be able to drop a stock clod body on with some tweaking. I have only run my Dragoon once and it was before I put in the Kyosho Mayhem motors, I found the suspension pretty tight but I think it would just need to work in a bit. If only I had the heart to break it in []. Sadly my items seem to be built for my shelf only. Have a look in the Clodbuster section for more ideas (or TWINSET's showroom). Original Clodbuster Rides: http://www.tamiyaclub.com/userrides.asp?id=65 Super Clodbuster Rides: http://www.tamiyaclub.com/userrides.asp?id=497 Featherlite recently added to Club: http://www.tamiyaclub.com/showroom_model.a...80&id=12248 Hope this helps.....[]
