  1. Get this esc: https://traxxas.com/products/parts/escs/3019Revx2lvd Use one lipo battery, they are lighter than nimh. Start with a 2s and if you want more speed than get a 3s. You may need this adapter to use one battery (it just plugs into one battery plug allowing use of one battery): https://traxxas.com/products/parts/3983 If you want long runtime make sure the battery has a high mah rating. For example 5800 mah will run longer than 3000 mah.
  2. 2s lipo battery is 7.4 volts of power to the motors 3s lipo battery is 11.1 volts of power to the motors You need to get a battery: http://www.greathobbies.com/productinfo/?prod_id=TRX2843 or http://www.greathobbies.com/productinfo/?prod_id=TRX2846 Charger: http://www.greathobbies.com/productinfo/?prod_id=TRX2933 For soldering you need a soldering station: http://www.greathobbies.com/productinfo/?prod_id=TKPTK950 Or go with an ESC that comes wired for two motors already.
  3. Incredible and inexpensive runner for the beach: http://www.tamiyaclub.com/showroom_model.asp?cid=111013&sid=7434 Now go get one.
  4. For Clod Buster - keep it simple, run one esc to both motors, (There are esc's that can handle those 15 turns). Soldering will be required. Run one lipo battery. I use the Tekin FXR-Pro esc in both of mine. Handles 2s and 3s lipo batteries. With 3s you don't need two batteries and 2s is quick enough. http://www.tamiyaclub.com/showroom_model.asp?cid=109770&sid=7434 http://www.tamiyaclub.com/showroom_model.asp?cid=115920&sid=7434 Good luck.
  5. Beautiful. Here's the one I sold off http://www.tamiyaclub.com/showroom_model.asp?cid=97483&sid=7434
  6. One word: YETI Buy it. http://www.axialracing.com/t/vehicles That is all.
  7. Ebay, alright. Ebay = my nemesis ! Can't stay away. . . .. . . . .. . . .
  8. NIB Marui Big Bear. Thanks postman ! http://www.tamiyaclub.com/showroom_model.asp?cid=125046&id=7434 So, what has the postman delivered to you, today ?
  9. Indeed. I'm still "slinking around" .
  10. Me = want. Want = get. Therefore, me get.
  11. Definitely something for the kids, it's cute. Ah, what the heck - I'd run one !
  12. No ? This has my interest big time: 56036 1/16 RC JGSDF Type 10 Main Battle Tank Full Operation Set [tentative] (From www.tamiyablog.com)
  13. Yes, exactly. Sorry, all mine sit on a shelf after I build them then run them once or twice (if at all), can never remember the performance
  14. Same performance...... ....... ....... ........still some "lean" ... ..... .....just build and run your txt-1 for great fun !
  15. I think there is no comparison between this and a monster truck. If "worse weather" is your base, I'd go monster truck, the Blackfoot 3, Blackfoot Extreme or Twin Detonator would be a far better performer if "monster trucking" is what you after. That TA-02T chassis is pretty limited with the terrain it can handle, it's rather small with little clearance. Don't disappoint yourself.
  16. I've both. Different chassis on the Agrios, and it is heavier, or seems so. This is what I've done to my Agrios since first building it stock: Custom cut chassis side plates from thick polycarbonate to replace heavy steel stock plates Imex tires, TXT- Wheels A much more realistic truck body Before/New Built Agrios: After/Modified Agrios: To answer, yes the Agrios body is a direct fit to both - the wheels however, I don't think they were. I threw mine in the garbage as soon as I unboxed the kit.. I seem to think the hub was different on the rear of the wheel but can't recall.
  17. Custom painted original Monster Beetle Body by Forrest from www.bruiserbuilder.com. Awesome.
  18. FYI, that Capo 8x8 all metal truck needs a lot of fine tuning: http://www.scale4x4rc.org/forums/showthread.php?t=78612 Disappointing, considering the price tag. I hope this is better.
  19. Complete ! http://www.tamiyaclub.com/showroom_model.asp?cid=124431&id=7434
  20. Compliments of Stellamodels (outstanding service): 1 x Tamiya Kit #84383 - Black Metallic Hornet. So, what has the Postman brought you today ?
  21. Indoors, but still nice. Resurrecting thread for special vintage posting in a few weeks.
  22. "long winter time" implies looking for a lengthy build Hotshot is no lengthy build, 1 evening and it's done. . . . . . . . . . . . What's the budget ? What's your interest, will it be a runner, show piece, occasional runner or a racer ? Have you a specific interest in type of vehicle ? Do you want a total r/c or more of a scale model r/c ? Otherwise you're gonna get a wide variety of responses some of which may be nothing like you seek .
  23. 3Racing GB01 http://www.tamiyaclub.com/showroom_model.asp?cid=124043&sid=7434
  24. Don't bother, too big and bulky. Todays nimh batteries have nearly as much capacity in a standard size pack and fit in the stock battery slot. Same for lipos which are even lighter. That big battery is "old school". If you get the Tamiya esc then you need to add a lipo cut off.
  25. What a wonderful day ! Today I received Kyosho Kit #3165. The one, the only, Kyosho USA-1. http://www.tamiyaclub.com/showroom_model.asp?cid=124091&id=7434 So, what has the Postman brought you today ?
