The thing I like the most about this new truck is that it is something that represents a truck you would actually see driving down the street ! Very representative of some dual purpose road / off-road trucks that are driven by people in North America [Y].
-
Excellent. I have been thinking very much lately of getting a TNX to bash around for the summer and now I have to wait and see what the new TNX is all about ! Tamiya is on a roll !
-
I agree it's not the same as an original bruiser BUT I must admit this is one catchy ride ! It looks much more practical to todays users and very capable ! It is a nice adaptation with the same theory in mind. I think it is a great product in a new direction that has borrowed form old philosophy and if we buy enough of 'em the next model will only be better !
My guess is $399.99 US Funds. As far as my personal collection it will grow by at least two of these trucks! [

Finally ! It's about time Tamiya came up with a decent new release [Y]. (I was losing hope)
Team that up with some sweet LED's and a great paint job and you have a winner !

Good topic. I agree, Tamiya vehicles get a lot more use in the UK. We need some serious North American Get togethers here, we are being embarrassed !

Hey everybody - now that spring is here [
] that means we are cleaning the dust off our rides and if you are like me - that means tons of new parts for the new season [H]! I jacked up the TXT-1 with a Stainless Steel Hex Screw Set (how did I live without one !), New Era Skid Plates (Even gave 'em a quick polish), RC4WD MEtal Ball ends, Traxxas Driveshafts and GPM Alloy Wheel Hubs ! Check 'er out let me know what you think - and show me what you have done to ready yourself for the new season !my apologies I can't get an image in here, so click here:

Thanks for looking !

I think stulec52 got the nail on the head.....................I feel a special die cast model in limited edition coming up ! (Oh wait, I think every car is in limited edition when it comes from Tamiya [
]). -
Great video ! So, what's the verdict - do we have a capable vehicle with some potential for some great 4wd off road races ?
-
Just an FYI for all members. Although the "punisher" shafts I receieved were faulty, Mike from RC4WD refunded my money [Y] and didn't even ask for the items to be returned ( I did email him pictures of the damage though). So, I have to give him 2 thumbs up and this has been the only "hiccup" I've had with rc4wd over the last year.

Thank you Tamiyabigstuff ! The second link worked out for me. Ebay Canada wasn't working out but you solved my problem [
].
-
Tamiyabigstuff - thanks. It was no spoof, I listed an item and in my desacription I had written one battery and then two battery packs run through truck. Some clown wrote me and called me a LIAR and dufus. I informed him it was simply a listing error as I had listed several items at once and I then corrected it. I even posted his "question". Check it out here if you wish :

I followed your instructions but got to a "This page may have moved or is no longer available" ? Anyone else help me out ?

Hello folks. Can someone tell me how to block a specific member from bidding on an auction. I looked around and found how to block general bidders ie: less than -1 feedback, out of country etc. However nothing to name specific members ? Reason I ask is I received a nasty email from someone I never even knew existed that was a complete surprise ! Thanks.

Congrats on your dagger ! (if you want another check my trades [
]). Check here for motor suggestions:http://tamiyaclub.com/CS/forums/thread/157743.aspx
If the timing is 0 degrees, then you just reverse the +/- wires on one of the motors. (in the clod buster the special motor goes in the back I assume the dagger is similar). Also, I believe the kyosho magnetic mayhems are around 27 turns and one comes reversed.
-
I forecast an item no one here was expecting. My belief is another adaptation of a current vehicle chassis, as that is what Tamiya seems to favour [
]. Oh, and of course RTR for the kids ! -
Congratulations on your txt-1's arrival ! Welcome to the txt club [H].
-
Welcome back to tamiya !
It's no different now, you should probably choose something that will have parts widely available:
Off road buggy try the Gravel Hound / Rising Storm / Dark Impact.
Truck try the Twin Detonator (4wd). There are a few re-releases like the Thundershot / Top Force but they are "re-releases", keep that in mind. However, just about any recent release will do !
You could make it really easy by checking my "trades" section, I have at least one new built on ebay right now [
]. -
Thanks chaps ! (nzl60 & Cul-Tech especially). Problem resolved. I fitted some traxxas shafts today - took it out for a test run and it all held together [
]!
-
Thanks terry.sc. I will ignore the blue wire as I won't be using any KO stuff.

Just got my new lrp quantum pro reverse esc. One question - Where does the FET-Servo lead from the esc (small blue wire from the esc) get soldered to ? The included instructions say to solder it in place but they don't say to what ? Any help would be appreciated, thanks. (That's right, I don't know my electronics [:|]). Cheers.

hey neo. yep, bought the punisher shafts from rc4wd and they blew apart. rc4wd is currently experiencing some product defects with those, he advised me replacemnts will be coming in may. I can't wait that long [
]. Thanks for the info, I don't really want to grind anything but I do want to start running ! Just ned some part numbers................. -
Hey everybody. Well I need to replace my driveshafts on the txt-1 as my wheelbase has been extended slightly and the "other brand" ones I had purchased were defective. I have seen some people use E-Maxx driveshafts. Can anyone inform me what part numbers I need to order all the parts required ? Also, will they bolt right on ? Or even better, if anyone has some I'll pay you for expedited shipping because I'm dying to get the truck out !
-
Just put my punisher shafts into my txt-1. Pulled the trigger on the radio, it moved about 1 foot then stopped as the driveshafts spun in place ! The little pins slid right out ! Email sent to rc4wd. Hopefully mine will work out as the bruiser shafts [:|].
-
So, it looks like you got the batch made between october & december 2005 eh ? Hopefully my txt-1 shafts aren't old stock ! I'll know soon enough [
]. -
Ouch ! I just recieved my "punisher" heavy duty shafts for my txt-1 from rc4wd. I run the HV Maxx brushless so now I am a little concerned. I checked the rc4wd website and the following warning was under the picture of the punisher shaft on the txt-1 parts section:
Note: If you purchased a Punisher Shaft for TXT-1 from Oct to Dec 2005 and experiencing problem with the pin on universal joint, please contact us via our support site at www.rc4wd.com/support/ to get a replacement (we will need your order #)
Maybe yours is one of the bad ones ? I sent an inquiry to rc4wd myself about another product, it was just a question but I never got a response. However, when I have made an inquiry about something I've ordered it's usually answered quickly.
They definitely have some quirky business tactics over there. Hopefully my shafts won't be destroyed on my first run ! I'm just waiting for my stainless steel kit to arrive then I'm up and running for the new season.
Overall, I have been pretty happy with my service at rc4wd [
].

DCM71 that is one of the sharpest looking buggies I've seen in a long time. Great work [Y] .
