Can I also suggest a set of round ally bar suspension rods to replace the plastic ones.
TXT axles, hubs, and wheels to give a slightly wider track, makes the truck more stable, and stops the tires rubbing on the edges of the axle guards.
Hi Lift dampers to replace the stock plastic shocks.
I'm biased, but I think they look good on mine

I pretty sure in this pic that the TXT axles are fitted as well, put the wheels out slightly wider than stock.
Great ideas - the suspension rods are in the mail ! It's life will be on the shelf so not worried about width and I'm partial to the Jugg wheels and tires.
The F350 shocks are also a good idea - look sharp. May consider . . . .
All my bits, including a new mint unpainted body are in the mail !
Now, what colour to choose . . . .

Near new Juggernaut 2 Truck.
http://www.tamiyaclub.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=73705#entry548019
So, what has the postman brought you today ?
-
Just arrived via Ebay:

Nearly new built, body was damaged and cracked in shipping but otherwise near mint condition. Came with a Novak Super Rooster ESC and the Tamiya Optional Light Set installed.
Big plans to strip and rebuild into a more realistic truck.
Parts currently shipping to me:
- XtremeRacing Carbon fibre behind the axle steering - installing on both front and rear axles for 4 wheel steer (also ordered the lock out in case I change my mind)
- Tamiya TEU-103BK Dual motor ESC
- New bearings
- Axial LED Set (light bar & headlights)
- 2.4 ghz Radio/Receiver - compliments of Hobby King
To be found/purchased yet is a new Juggernaut Body set - not going to settle for the F350 set.
Stay tuned !

Excellent - but far too clean lol . The only thing i would personally change is to colour match the wheels to the body . IMO that would look far more realistic , then get some weathering done . Powdered pastel rubbed into the paint works well .
I will paint the white bead lock rings - great eye .
Most likely black to match the wheels though -
.The paint peeled right off and cracked right off the cheap plastic "mud flaps" even having used primer first - so I'm hesitant to paint the wheels and bead lock rings.

nice results along with the front wheel weld fenders. can you and would you put an interior in....maybe from Tamiya big rigs, provided it will fit?
The dash would be too short lengthwise I believe but some work could be done. Since I built it different than standard hard to say but I have some 1/14th seats from a semi build and looks like you could work something out.
Sized beside my TXT-2 Agrios:

I will get some proper outside on the landscape photos in a week or so when time permits.
There is a new version now available with a better body and all the sound and light equipment in the kit, metal plated parts and a few other hop ups.
I would BUY this one:

OMG! Sweet!
Do you think the upper shockmounts in the front will hold? Looks fragile...
Badboy
Highs:
- Sheer size
- Scale goodness
- Included LED set
- Body Detail
- Metal Frame Chassis with scale axles
- Weight
- Wheels and tires pre - assembled
Lows:
- Some vital components are made of a "soft" plastic (ie: shock mounts, rear light canisters, tow hooks, wiper blades)
- Screw diagrams in manual are not too scale (Keep a ruler handy)
- Axles/Transmission pre-assembled - depending on your view, require disassembly to ensure proper lubrication and mesh
- One rear axle had a slight "unsmoothness" though seems okay now
Recommendations:
- Use the included LEDS
- Purchase the Cross-RC speaker and Sound unit
- Fitting the MFC a bit of an overkill, otherwise
- Purchase the optional metal shock towers - stock plastic seems a bit soft considering the weight of the truck !
Would I purchase again ?
YES !
-
-
Yep, I just replaced the single amber lights with dual lights in mine - you can add Tamiya LEDS or cheaper 3Racing ones all will work !

Quite possibly the best thread yet!

thought you went AWOL on us:-D bummer you have to wait for the paint. no sure where abouts are you, but if you are in scarborough area there is a shop by N/W of ellsemere north of 401 by McCowan ,Adance hobby?, they may have the paint. ..or you called all LHS already.
a question, are the diff all locked?
look fwd to the complete build!
More:
Chassis attached to bed of truck, speaker box mounted in included speaker box, painted and mounted the MFU control box underneath the bed on the driver side. Best location I could find and allow the wires to reach the MFU.
Now waiting on a delivery of 5mm LEDS . One ting to note, the front bumper is mounted to the cab by 2 small 2mm screws and the bumper then mounts the chassis to the cab - not too "sturdy" I say -
. Lots of glue required to attach the windows and accessories too. Also need to finalize a battery tray mount above the MFU - not sure my "shoo goo'd" servo posts will hold up to the task of a styrene battery tray.

Just been busy - finished the txt-2 off and been scouring for paint for this bad boy.
Diffs are all locked from the factory ! I may have a line on some paint but it's 2 hrs away plus I'm working the next 7 afternoons - so updates will be slow to say the least
. -
Quick and short update - added the "shaker" unit - had to mount it to a cross member and it just clears underneath the bed when mounted. Bed is assembled and primed
Now awaiting any LHS to get the paint colour back in stock before I can continue . . .. . . . .

Hows it going with your truck? Did you try 3S lipo or a hotter motor yet?
Looks gorgeous

To update (Special thanks member: ant88 ):
New (proper) body, clear polycarbonate side plates - like a 1:1 MT.

That driver jus
Now comes the new driver. Some things came out great, like all the detail and colours in his vans, the waffle sole looks awesome. Unfortunately the t-shirt design got smudged in the print process. I am going to talk to shapeways to see what can be done to rectify this, or I might just delete the design all together.

Now remember there is no hand painting in this process, this is exactly how he comes from the printers, it blows my mind that this is possible. Still lots of room for improvement but still way better than I could hand paint myself.I think this just sold me !

That is definitely one tough looking truck. I kick myself, long ago it came across a new complete tundra body that had a reasonable buy it now. By the time I came back to it, it was gone
Cheers Shodog - it's one of Tamiya's finest endeavours I'd say
. -
Thanks,
I was thinking about twin gatling guns poked out of the front of each side of the front glacis plate (The plate with the drivers viewport.). But yes, when I can pick up a cheap machine gun that would be good. Also a figure with just the head and shoulders, and a coal scuttle helmet poked out of the commanders hatch.
Perfect finishing touch for the ultimate custom half track - Tamiya should be paying you royalties and producing a kit.

I picked up a can of light sand yesterday as I was looking for a yellowy tan colour for my k100 build. I would certainly consider it for a colour choice in your aplication. Especially since as you say desert yellow isn't available in the TS range.

It's coming along nicely! Must stay away from this thread, you are making me want one!

As did I ! Drove to 3 Hobby Stores and found only one can
.Problem, radio tray is enclosed and clearly built to house the included light kit, an esc and a receiver. MFC is not going to stuff in there ! Battery mounts on top as per instruction sheet (as pictured):

Solution is I had some tall servo mounts that I shoe goo'd to the chassis, they just clear the MFC unit. I will build a battery tray to put above the MFC - problem solved ! Still will have to mount the control box but that may go under the bed of the truck in place of the included goodies.

The bed has involved some serious model/plastic bonding, buy two bottles of Plastruct Weld !

No. This is more sexier. One gets a big peep at the naked chassis.
But Ursula is much more "vintage".
Cheers on that.
Next, I present my Thundertech Ripper TXT-1 Chassis.
Enjoy you will:

So, what is your favourite one r/c in your favourite photo ?
Post it you shall !

Official release date is July 19th.
Oh my.
Sleepless nights I foresee.
Anticipation too much.
Cheers.

What? Unbelieveable! There is absolutely no indication anywhere whatsoever that you would be interested in a Mountaineer! None I say!
