Well... if the OP is doubling up... here's a more recent one. I never realized before this photo how closely the Clod matches the Plymouth.
Refresh your memory you must.
Thread idea - post your favourite photo of your favourite r/c currently still in your collection.
Start I will.
InetRC Bat Chassis TXT-1.
No limit did I set.
Continue with quality posts we must.
Follow rules, one r/c in photo we shall
. In your collection it must be.Beat that Juggernaut 2 I will.

Though the thread is titled one r/c one photo I guess we can allow this as it's a photo of the same car technically

That's a lot of planning - nice paint job !

Now that the chassis is built, you get to flex your model building skill on that huge body!
Well, difficult to match the master but I'll see what I can do, mostly stock this will be.
Colour thoughts folks ?
Tamiya AS-15 Spray Laquer Tan

Tamiya TS-46 Light Sand (Leaning towards this)
http://www.tamiyausa.com/items/paints-finishes-60/tamiya-color-spray-ts-61500/ts-46-light-sand-85046
Need a spray colour as I haven't an airbrush so the Desert Yellow is out as I think it's just in the small bottle and I am not brushing this paint on
. Looking for a "Desert Look". Have begun assembly of the body/Bed but have to stop for some home renovations and to pick up some more plastruct Weld, primer paint etc.

Looks rather good so far. The lack of differentials is a bit of a let down though. The stub axle also seem quite long in comparison with most buggy axles, are the wheels particularly thick, or is there just a lot of thread on the axles?
Yep. it's "all shaft" but once the drive axle is on to fit the wheel it's more standard (like a long txt ale then adding the drive hub). The wheels I think are "just about an inch" haven't had a proper check.

Underneath:

Size along beside Bruiser Re Release:

At first, I thought that the chassis had a striking resemblance to the RC4WD Beast & Worminator but on close inspection not so much !
-
Build impressions:
- No English text in manual but the manual is step by step
- The assembly in the manual is for the entire manual but the kit includes assembled transmission, axles and partially assembled oil dampers. As such close attention must be paid to attaching the links to the axles
- Parts trees are well labelled, parts bas not so much - all Chinese but you can find what you need
- Parts in the margin are not to scale (washers, screws)
Quality Impressions:
- kit has gone together well so far
- screws thread into the plastic no problem, no stripped hardware
- axles and transmission have been tested an run smoothly
- shock mounts are plastic and designed similar to the High Lift series which Tamiya made of steel
- shocks are a bit of a "cheap" concern, hard to describe really. I was out of oil so built them dry but get the impression they may be "leakers"
- builds like a Tamiya semi-kit
Included driveshafts on the left are black, also included are red "hardened" ones which indicate some type of original problem so I just bought my own replacements from junfac:

Axles came assembled but ran smooth, here's a shot inside the front:

Axles all linked up for install on the chassis:

Rolling chassis - standard 12mm hex - wheels are beadlock and came pre assembled:

Next is the install of electronics and body construction which looks to be a long model build !

Electronics programmed (though still not sure it's right ! - I hate that MFC Unit programming).
Already been to the LHS and picked up a smaller hump back receiver nimh pack to power the winch separately.
Will replace the Tamiya included 3mm LEDS with 5mm LEDS as the kit included ones are all 5mm and the lenses are sized as such.
Stellamodels is now selling the Cross-RC sound unit and speaker at a very reasonable price, if I hadn't aready purchased the MFC I would be snatching it up, looks good.
So, here's the electronics all programmed and tested:

-
Nice, real nice. With the axle mounted servo and rear lock out - looks 1:1 - nice build !
I've just ordered some custom polycarbonate side plates for my txt-2 to lighten it up and replace those heavy steel plates to help "speed things up".
When they arrive I'll have an update in my thread and I'll check with the TC Member supplying them if he's interested in supplying to other members
. -
Purchasing, yes.

** UPDATE **
Build begins 9 May 2014 - All parts in and Holidays start then !
This build and an update (secret) to my TXT-2 Agrios will be a last contribution to TC as I plan to take a leave of absence but I'll make this 6x6 count
.Stay tuned, build starts soon ! Thanks for your interest and patience.

Thanks for the suggestions guys, not sure if I want to go with the 2.2's or not, I like the scale look of the 1.9's but the stock tires look too small.
Been checking out the Rock Crushers and the Flat Irons, even though they are not the newest tires, I'm liking the look of them
Just trying to fill out the wheels wells more and keep it pretty much Tamiya.
Great looking trucks Roots and Goose!
Thanks.
You can stick with several RC4WD 1.9 size as I've linked to that will fill up the wheel wells for you just look at the measurements on the site for each tire, you'll find one no problem !
Then, post us some photos

As a TC member are you happy with Tamiya's releases (not re releases) so far?
A few, yes.
-
Brand new - pulled from kit only.
Direct fit for TXT-1, TXT-2.( Clodbuster users will require TXT hubs and axle stubs me thinks. )
Assembled - includes tires and foams assembled onto wheels - not glued. Pulled from the TXT-2 Agrios kit.

New built RTR - lots of time and effort put into this beauty - my loss your definite gain. Too many projects on the go. Moving and spring sale. I will also be taking an indefinite hiatus from tamiyaclub so more items will be coming up for auction and sale.
This is ready to run and bench tested only with several minor modifications. One of my best builds yet.
Absolute value with everything that is included, check carefully the auction but here is a list anyway:
- Tamiya Kit #56317 Full Operation Kit (Scania , MFC-01 Futaba Attack all in one box - imported from Japan)
- Topcad aluminum wheels installed front and rear
- full ball bearings installed
- custom MFC tray installed allowing interior to be installed (tamiyaclub member ant88)
- speaker custom mounted above cab
- fifth wheel servo installed for motorized legs (for trailer legs)(Horn on MFC must be de activated to operate)
- added reverse lights (not originally called for in building installation)
- custom "diamond plate" on rear deck
- metal badging on truck
Extras included:
- Additional Topcad wheels for any Tamiya Semi Trailer set to match the Scania cab
- Semi Trailer Light Set
- Semi Trailer Motorized Legs
I would really prefer this to go to a Tamiyaclub member, will end auction for a sensible offer. If it does not sell I will keep it.
Shipping to USA, Canada and local pick up possible. (Ships in two packages by Canada Post)

Considering that the Lunchbox was designed by Tamiya to be a wheelie popping machine, why do people go to such incredible lengths to make it driveable like an actual track star ?!

Some slight disappointment (ie: plastic shock mount towers - metal on other brands) but happy with the axles and transmission so far.
The plastic is quality on most parts I would suggest but seemed a bit soft on the shock towers and the rear light brackets but only time will tell.
The body is made of thick plastic and the build has begun ! Seems very robust (The cab is prebuilt but beginning the bed and extras now). I'm building this properly with Plastruct weld and allowing it to bond and it seems it will last.
More to come, just tied up with home renovations at the moment and a few other items.
I'll have a better "feeling" about the value when I get her all done, but I can say thus far don't pay Ebay prices - score one at Stellamodels for a real deal
.
