  1. Really want one to fit my 257mm wheel base FF02 but most are too low at the front
  2. Just killed my shell, used oven cleaner and it reacted really badly with the lexan, has eaten through some parts. Not really that fussed as it was a old tatty shell that i was trying paint techniques on. To be honest, its works out cheaper to buy a new shell if its a run of the mill shell.
  3. Any idea where in the UK i can get Tamiya shells cheap? IrenL, do you have a FF02 chassis?
  4. Yeah, got one of those. Cheers. Need to get a shell aswell but the Tamiya ones are so expensive.
  5. Cheers peeps. Hobbycraft at the weekend then!
  6. Its only for show!
  7. If anyone has a 20 turn limit ESC for sale please let me know. Im currently running a stock 540 but looking to upgrade. Also, if anyone has a 23 Turn Sport Motor for sale please let me know. Ideally i could do with both new/hardly used. Cheers
  8. Right, so as the FF02 has a wheel base of 257mm most shells should fit. Ive just got to be careful about the height of the bonnet on the suspension and stearing servo.
  9. The HPI Saxo and 106 have a wheel base of 237mm so even if i remove the spacer, it transforms the chassis into a M03 and that has a 210mm wheel base. What a ****ter. What the normal wheel base for a touring car 1/10th?
  10. Thank you Anyone go a HPI shell on a FF02?
  11. Hiya, i have been looking through the old threads on this and im a little confussed. Most of the threads are based around shells that have been painted on the outside. How do you strip paint from the inside of shells?
  12. I have been looking at the HPI Lotus Elise and 106 shells I don't really want to buy one and find it doesn't fit. That link does not work mate.
  13. So any standard shell will fit?
  14. the reference 190mm mean on shells. I want to try and fit some HPI and Tamiya shells to my FF02 chassis but i dont understand how shell measurements work. Any ideas please?
  15. I would spend the extra £25 on the thunder
  16. Cheers Jozza, any idea where i can get some from? Hobby Craft, model shop, Homebase?
  17. Is this a no no? I have spent most weekend cutting out this stuff to stick onto my shell to give a real carbon fibre twill effect. The only thing im worried about is that the glue is going to be left behind once i peel it off. Firstly, is there any way of getting the sticky off once sprayed (may not need to as its on the inside of the shell) will it be ok, or will i need to use something else. Im bit worried that it will leave most of the glue behind. Will turps do anything to the paint?
  18. Yeah cheers Jozza, the duck liner is £7 from homebase so im playing aroung with different types of material at the moment like sticky back plastic to see how good that is. I also bought some Humbrol Maskol today for £2.50 so im going to play with that too. I have a painted shell here that i want to try and strip (bright pink and came with car) I dont have access to nitro fuel or nail varnish remover. What else can i use?
  19. That is totally awsome exactly like what i want to do. The next question is, how posible is it to do that with normal spray cans?
  20. Whats the differnce between the standard 540S and the Sports version?
  21. Ah i see, sorry. Sounds like you have some serious "Snail Mail" over there.
  22. Yeah Jozza sent me a link to that sparying page. I really want to make the CF look as good as possible.
  23. Jim, yeah but carbon effect film looks nothing like real carbon fibre, had a carbon bonnet on my old car.
  24. Cheers It looks like Hunbrol do a similar version but if its all **** i may end up using adhesive sheets but that may take me years!
  25. Hey guys and gals. I am looking to apply a carbon affect bonnet and roof to my mini shell and possibly a flame or tribal logo. What can i use to mask off with? Is there any form of paint on masking like liquid that dries, then you can peel it off? I dont like the thought of masking tape as i have had problems with the paint running through it. If there is such thing as liquid mask, where can i get some in the uk? Cheers
