Hi there Firstly apologies for asking a question which has probably been asked loads of times but after having read posts, reviews and watched stuff on eBay I am still at a bit of a loss. I have a 25+ year old monster beetle and lunchbox which I have got back in running order for my son with the addition of a couple of new ESCs tble02s's to replace the old mechanical ones and a couple of new batteries (3300 nimh) He has got good use of the cars over the last year but the motors which are also 25+ years old (an old stock silver can and a sport tuned) are running a bit hot now and are a bit temperamental. To make things a bit safer for him to use them on his own and prolong the battery life/ run time a bit I was looking to go brushless on the cars but I don't want anything too insane as I will only spend more time fixing them than he does running them, although to be fair I do enjoy tinkering with them. My question therefore is what do you recommend, I would like something as fast as a sport tuned or a little faster but don't know whether I am better going for one of the tamiya motors since I already have the ESCs or go with one of the cheaper motor ESC combos such as the leopard 3930kv or similar. With the non tamiya motors is there anything you need to look out for, do they fit the same to the motor mounts on the cars or do you need adapters etc? Do the pin ions fit? Lastly is there a way of taming the motors down a bit so that initially they are a bit slower for my son but as he progresses I can dial the up a bit. Is this possible via the programming card? Is this what the motor timing option is on the set up? Thanks for your patience Mark

Hey, I'm building a project I've been thinking about for a couple years. Looking for ideas.... Im going the rat rod look due to the original condition of the body. I've already got about 20 hours into the body.... i need colors. I didn't want to go all black. I am thinking a deep red in the sides and black on the top. Also any ideas for the antenna mount. It's currently mouthed to a monster beetle skid plate with a super Blackfoot antenna holder. additionally, I need a vintage MB window to hide all the innards.

No affliation... Just thought I'd throw it out there... http://r.ebay.com/vYwB6X Good deal on used CRP part... Missing the piece(s) that go inside the tranny case, though... Doing a little more searching on Fleabheyz turned up this: http://r.ebay.com/CczAXp Matches the red chassis of the MB, and is complete. Albeit, it is more expensive... Again, no affiliation... Terry

I took my original Monster Beetle out from the storage room. It must have been unused for 20 years or more. Seems like the battery pack, motor and servos are all working. It has some parts missing though. I wander if I could use re-released Monster Beetle spare parts? How is the gearbox in the new Monster Beetle? Since I remember that the original had problems with differential gears holding together. Also what would be the recommended upgrades? I looking the bearings in the front wheel, is there closed ball bearing that could be used for replace the original plastic part. Here are some photos of the project: http://xfix****upx.tumblr.com

I have a complete set, still in the wrapper of decals for the MB that I am willing to part with to a good home. I have just dusted my MB off after 20 years plus in the attic and will just use it for bashing, it would be a shame to waste these on that. Here are some pics, I can give more if required. As you can see from the pics of the backing sheet these are 100% genuine original and from the gunk on the tape I have never opened the packet.

Hello, I'm looking for a pair of steering uprights for the tamiya frog or brat. Not sure if any other models use these but if so then those models too!=) I'm trying to make a frog out of leftover blackfoot parts.. Does anyone have some they'd be willing to give up? Thanks, John -
Hello, like the title says I'm looking for a NIP uncut sticker sheet for the Vintage bush devil. It seems impossible to find so I'm hoping someone here knows someone somehwhere that has one in their closet or attic. I would be ok with a whole body with box art stickers in good shape. No cracks. some scratches are ok. Thanks!!

I was running my old Monster Beetle just today after many years of disuse and I noticed something that got me thinking. When the vehicle was in a rough spot and really needed some torque on the wheels, I noticed the wheels (aluminum rims) were just 'slipping' inside the tires. That is, the tires were not spinning, but the motor, tranny, differential, axles, and rims were all moving. There is apparently not enough grip between the tire and rim to organically prevent this. A long-standing question I also have, which I imagine relates in a round about way, is this: I can't figure out why my Monster Beetle has shocks. Every time I hit a bump that would normally actuate the shocks, the tires just compress. When running the car the shocks do not move even once. The tires just 'deflate' to absorb the shock. (To be clear, the re-inflate each time, too.) Both of these seem to indicate a poor contact between tire and rim. How do you guys deal with this? Or do you at all? Should I be gluing my tires onto the rims? Should I buy slightly smaller tires? I'd love to hear feedback from the community. Thanks!

Thinking about the ugly Fox and Falcon shafts. Frog UJs seems good for the Falcon but no, they are not. The wheel axle is too long. But if I disassemble the Frog UJs and use a normal short axle can it works? The Frog and Falcon half shafts are the same length? And what about the Fox? Somebody knows the length of the Fox half shafts? Can something be similar? Max
