Nikko85 inspired me to take a similar approach to restoring my own Hot Machine: I received mine as a childhood gift & determined about a year ago that I would upgrade it to work with a modern MCU. I'm planning on installing an F405-WSE & using Ardupilot, or similar. Nikko found that a standard metal servo made a great replacement for the stock micromotor which acted as a servo arm. I've received my replacement servo today. The replacement came with a servo saver, but it's going to be too big. I have access to 3D printing hardware & plan to use the old arm with a new plate to adapt it to the replacement servo. The next challenge will be finding a solid way to secure the servo to the top gear housing. Not sure if I'll use tape or create a bracket to secure it.

Hi, I am trying to source a body post for my Sand Scorcher so I can use the Super Champ servo saver as detailed here: http://www.tamiyaclub.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=58289 I found that a TC member made some a while back but he doesn't have any more. Anyone know of alternative source or even something else that fits?

My servo saver is really loose and has quite a bit of free play in it, Are these items from hobbyking any good? http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/__23492__Blue_Aluminum_Heavy_Duty_Servo_Saver.html I know Tamiya do a heavy duty one but that is twice the price, but is it a case of buy cheap, buy twice? Also I know of the kimborough servo savers but I was confused as to whether it would fit the dt-02. I can also take advantage of hobbykings postage and order a new battery at the same time.
