  2. Hello, I'm new here (I guess you knew that). Very quick intro... I used to use remote control cars approx. 30 years ago (just for fun, not competition), I started off with a Tamiya Sand Scorcher and later also bought a Tamiya Boomerang (1986 ish). My Mum has just moved house and both cars (and kits) have turned up again, much to the excitement of myself and even more so my 6 year old son. Well, all the Boomerang needed was a new battery and we were away but now we need/want a second car (as you all know) to more than double the fun ! For that reason (and to help fund the second car) I've decide that maybe the Sand Scorcher would be better off in the hands of somebody more clued-up and who could appreciate it more than me and my son will (he'll just smash it up I'm sure), So I'm looking to sell it but really not sure where to price it at and also I'm writing this during my (late) lunch break and just realised I don't have any pictures to upload to make this make more sense, sorry but I will post picture later this evening.

  6. Hello. I have rebuild my tamiya hornet and i have ran it two times so far. I have a hobbywing 1060 esc and its ball raced and has a black sports tuned motor. The issue is that it seems there is a power loss and a weird noise, like a zzzzzzzz on the air it sounds okay and it spins great. On the road, i punch forward and seems the noise is faster than the move, like its slipping. I thought it was the rear wheel adaptors but those were okay. I also took apart the gearbox and all gears, diff and all pins and stuff were okay and present. Now cause i bought it second hand and it was my first time building it, i didnt have the tamiya grease, so i used the Hudy graphite grease. I didnt follow the manual, but instead i put a generous amount of the grease in all gears etc, until they all became black Would this be the issue? and if yes, can i clean and reuse the parts? gears, counter gear, diff etc? can i wash them with water and let them dry? how do i clean them? and should i use again that graphite grease or should i get a tamiya grease? if i cant find one, what other grease can i use? thank you all
  7. Well it's been sitting in the cupboard for seven months now and I couldn't keep myself from building it any longer. While I know that there are a lot of Bruiser builds on this forum (many that are far better that this will be), this is more to just document and have a record for myself of this truck. I don't plan on doing any modifications really (just will add the slipper clutch) and want to make it true box art. Like all my other builds, it'll be fast! Once I start I'm addicted and have to keep building! Besides... who doesn't like seeing people build Bruisers Like many on here, this truck is one of my Holy Grails so to speak. I never had just that one model that I always wanted (although the 959 Porsche and this were close!) but I suspect like all of us that are of a certain ilk, seeing this in a hobby store in the 80s high up on a shelf for a price that was inconceivable, made it truly out of touch. Also this fascination with how a three speed transmission like this would even work blew my mind! I don't think it should also ever go without saying for anyone who stumbles across this thread outside of forum members that this kit is literally the best quality Tamiya kit I have ever (and I am sure most would agree) have ever built. The quality of parts, the all metal (literally most of the kit is metal) and the fitment of it all is a thing of beauty. Anyone who has even a mild mechanical or engineering leaning would wet themselves over how awesome this truck it. The stunning Tamiya cardboard box *Insert biblical sound when box opens* It's a big box! JUST LOOK AT IT!!!! The parts bags weigh about 32kgs. And so it begins... Nearly forgot the bearings on the diff... Didn't like the play on the Bruiser diff when assembled - too much side to side play for my liking (these obsessions with tight fits started when I was building cars in the 80s) so I shimmed each side. Ended up with two shims per side on the rear and front. makes a difference, but it's still not as "perfect" as I would have liked. I still can't really describe to everyone how serious the diff is. The gears (nearly all metal) are just beautiful. Brings a tear to my eye... The big question for me now is what motor should I put in her? I am thinking of using the Tekin 35T with the FXr I had in my Tundra... Any thoughts from the community on that one? And if anyone needs any more motivation to load up the credit card please see below More to come soon! Am making a coffee and building all day today so will update soon!
  8. Hi everyone, For sale is my Tamiya BMW Z3 M Roadster body shell and wheel set. It has a 239mm wheelbase (MChassis) and is now a very rare body set and wheels. The body is in used condition and the paint is flaking off. However, there don't appear to be any splits and the decals seem to be in great condition, so perhaps it could be re-painted! The wheels seem like new, there is lots of tread left and the rims are in nice condition. I'm after £25 + postage (ONO) Thanks, Sam.
  9. Good afternoon I purchased this Aqroshot after feeling inspired by a recent post on the Monster Racer/Nissan King Cab. Seeing as I love to tinker with Tamiya's and in particular raiding the Tamiya parts bin and making Frakenstein creations this caught my eye in an attempt to recreate a modern twist on the Monster racer. What drew my attention was many of the similarities to the Monster Racer, in particular; The relatively enclosed chassis, the motor hanging out behind the wheels, similar wheelbase (approx 10mm longer) and features that I particularly like, such as direct steering and a symmetrical layout. I have no idea how this will turn out or even if the plan will work. The WT01 has always been a favourite basher of mine, I'd like to recreate the robustness of the WT01 with something a little more precise and well balanced. So to the build...Box art... Layout... Features... Some suggested Hop Ups... (note that this kit already comes with the Torque tuned motor and CVA's) I have bearings and the ball diff to go in also. Remainder pics of build to follow pending approval...
  10. A friend of mine made a temtec gear super astute buggy by converting the body from desert gator. I think it is worth sharing to you guys. https://youtu.be/UWbJtmXOtzc
  11. Wanted: Aftermarket front oil shocks for the tamiya hornet to be installed in the same way like the stocks. Basically i need you-g, parma etc these kind of shocks. Used or new. Thanks
  12. Hello While moving piles of modelkits from the attic to my new 'mancave' I dug up my old Tamiya Fox. I bought it om my 12th birthday (1988) and it was my first and only RC car. It seemed in good shape, the radio still works even after a drop from the first floor (they did make things of quality these days did'nt they?). So i decided to buy new battery (Lipo? Nimh? whaaw things have changed since then) and it ran as 30 years ago. Time to take it apart and see in what shape it really is. The inside looks clean. The MSC needed lubrification badly The dogbones needed claening (dust) and grease Aaawch. Splits in the rear upper and lower arms Time to order Novafox parts and take a break
  13. Hi All, Was just wondering if anyone would know best tires setup for brushless WT01, as the original spike tires does not have any grip at all, the only best grip I can get out of this tires is on grass. Have anyone try the tires for HSP or redcat from ebay? are the any good? Thanks
  14. Hi All, As my Bio states I'm a 40 something Dad with 6 yr old son getting back into Tamiya RC Cars and I'm the proud owner of a new Super Clodbuster. Can someone point in the direction of a UK retailer where I can buy upgrades/tune ups that doesn't require buying from the US via eBay? I've searched and searched. Modelsport.co.uk seem ok but a bit limited in stock and very difficult to search. Appreciate the help.
  15. Hello , i recently purchased this tamiya grasshopper nib kit , i believe it is not a re - release but lots of people on facebook have been telling me otherwise , what is this ? Thanks for your help
  16. Hello Tamiyaclub! Some of you may know me, as I was very heavy into RC from 2007-2014. Did many builds on this forum. I've had major life changes, and am starting to clear out my massive collection of RC parts. Starting with all the NIB bodies I have.Treasure trove of new in package RC car bodies. Some have wheels/tires. Most are from about 5-6 years ago. Hard to find.If you are familiar with these Tamiyas, and the HPI Cup racer series, then you know what is here.First $340 cash takes them all. That's less than $15 a body! Most of these go for $40-$50 new. And these are new. Will not sell individually. Must take entire lot.Comprehensive list, with part numbers so you can look them all up if needed. Cheers, Skottoman NOTE: I am not shipping these, so really looking for a somewhat local Tamiyaclub member to pick these up. I am in the North San Diego county area of California. Sorry to my worldwide Tamiya friends. 17. Got an awesome deal on a new kit with damaged box ($57). Had to pick it up for my son. I've got my own Lunchbox with a bunch of suspension and chassis mods running 13.5T brushless power. For his, I'm keeping everything bone stock for now as far as performance mods go. This is one of the 3 projects that was holding me up from other builds because of the lack of time to work on the body. (Still not actually done, few more decals to print up)
  18. Hi there, I recently purchased a Grasshopper as my first rc since I was a boy. Was thinking a bit of nostalgia and then perhaps a more modern one next. Unfortunately my confidence has taken a bit of a knocking. On building my Grasshopper I have installed the servo, receiver esc. Thought I would test it before doing anything else and the wheels will turn but they will not drive. I am not getting anything from the motor. Things I know/can see : wheels turn fine, battery is charged, receiver lights up, esc (Carson) lights up green when I press forward and backward, wires are seated correctly, there is a loose yellow wire from the esc, there is nothing plugged into the BEC port on the receiver(?), I have a brand new 540 Mabuchi motor but it is not turning or making any sound. What next please help!? Many thanks
  19. Whilst in the shower this morning I had a knock at the door (typical isn't it!). There was a very cheerful looking delivery man stood in the pouring rain waiting patiently with a parcel for me Always love when things arrive from Tamico! Well packaged as usual! How good is this box art For a change I'm actually going to build this one rather than squirrel it away. I'll probably even use it as a basher too I've got to finish my FF01 speed run build before I can start on this but I'll put it on the list! I'd be interested to know of any worthwhile hop ups I can buy to use when I build this.
  20. Hi guys Really need your help with this one. Story goes like this; a few weeks ago I received my Ford C100 bodyset, the box completely knifed by customs. I went to the newspaper and they published the story (see photo). The Belgian television now picked up this story and want to make a report of it but I need them to show other members with simular problems. So, if you're box got damaged by customs or by shipping, please post your photo below. Many thanks and maybe in the future shipping and customs will be better. :-)
  21. Hello world, from cold Sweden I made a video on youtube with clips from me and my friends RCs, feel free to check it out The plan is to upload videos on a regular basis if theres an interest in what I create. Anyway.. enjoy!

  24. Hi everyone, I'm selling all the parts that I used to make my Tamiya M05 rear wheel drive (with onboard suspension) conversion. It will include the back half of the M05 Chassis which is where where the modifications are. I will also assist in explaining how it goes together for anyone interested. You will require a standard M05 for this conversion. Thanks, Sam
  25. Hi folks, A few years back I posted a few photos here on the forum about my rather sad original #58001 Porsche: https://www.tamiyaclub.com/forum/index.php?/topic/52184-is-this-a-58001-porsche I never got around to doing anything with it since then (my focus is offroad RC) so I've listed it on starting at a dollar: http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Vintage-original-58001-Tamiya-Porsche-Turbo-RSR-934-RC-car-DOLLAR-START-/122706228385 or search for "Vintage original 58001 Tamiya Porsche Turbo RSR 934 RC car DOLLAR START" eBay item# 122706228385 I'm in Australia, but happy to ship to many countries in the world. Thanks for looking, Steve (1944GPW)
