  1. Thinking hard about this one. I'm after a good vintage Tamiya or Kyosho. The Javelin is pretty rare I've seen them go for 700-800 quid is that a fair value? There's one on fleabay now http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Kyosho-Javelin-Similar-to-Optima-/231904443196?hash=item35fe94fb3c:g:W8YAAOSwsN9XBNIW
  2. There are a bunch of partial vintage decal sheets and loose decals I no longer need that could be useful for people's restorations: http://www.ebay.com/itm/331792097285 Included are a nearly complete Nissan King Cab sheet + partial Astute, Supershot, Fox, Super Sabre, Super Champ, Hornet and Madcap (possibly others, or interchangeable between some models). See pics for what's included. Also NIP Vintage Avante and Terra Scorcher decal sheets: http://www.ebay.com/itm/NIP-Vintage-Tamiya-Avante-Decals-58072-NEW-SEALED-MINT-CONDITION-X10176-/331792101127 http://www.ebay.com/itm/Tamiya-Terra-Scorcher-Decals-NIP-Vintage-58075-NEW-SEALED-Item-9495095-X10226-/331776077416 OFFERS WELCOME!
  3. I'm going to introduce you a RC blog. Although the blog is in Japanese, but this guy is really good. Not only Avante, but also Hotshot, Samurai, Optima etc. Avante: page 3: http://sohmioaa.blog.shinobi.jp/%E3%82%A2%E3%83%90%E3%83%B3%E3%83%86%EF%BC%88avante-/?pageNo=3 page 2: http://sohmioaa.blog.shinobi.jp/%E3%82%A2%E3%83%90%E3%83%B3%E3%83%86%EF%BC%88avante-/?pageNo=2 page 1: http://sohmioaa.blog.shinobi.jp/%E3%82%A2%E3%83%90%E3%83%B3%E3%83%86%EF%BC%88avante-/
  4. I have found an original SRB! It was found dismantled in a shed at an estate sale, looks to be about 90% complete in terms of parts. The odd thing is that the gearbox seems to have some sort of glue sealing it, not much so opening it shouldn't be a difficult task. Would make a fantastic parts car or candidate for restoration. I found the electronics in a separate box, but unfortunately the wires seem to have been clipped. Unfortunate, but they are included if you would like to re-solder or rewire them. Bearings are also included for those that want to make this a running model. As expected the gearbox will need to be shimmed since it has clearly been sitting for a while. I have attached some pictures, and the rear dampeners and the pinion are included, they are just hidden in the chassis tub. Here are the image links: http://postimg.org/image/47u1ap9yv/ http://postimg.org/image/8i8p6af1z/ http://postimg.org/image/5bj7js0xj/ http://postimg.org/image/ak96kjd13/ Willing to let it go for 65$ plus shipping or trade for re-re kits or kyosho mini z optima, show us what you have to offer. The buyer will be responsible for the cost of shipping. I am located in the USA so shipping within the states shouldn't be to much since in this dismantled state it should fit in a large flat rate box. I always ship with a tracking number if possible. I am willing to ship the item out of country/over seas for my UK friends but the buyer will still be responsible for shipping costs. If a trade is made, we will each pay for the shipping of our own piece and we will provide tracking numbers. Otherwise, payments are to be made via paypal only. So let me know what you guys think, at this time not willing to part it out, if nothing happens here I'll just hold on to her.
  5. Simple question... anyone putting any original vintage items under their tree this year? If so, what cool things have you found? (Doesn't have to be Tamiya, and doesn't even have to be R/C - it would be nice to hear of any vintage toys or other gear you're looking forward to).
  6. For sale is my Striker rolling chassis - £25 inc. UK shipping I bought on here for £30 inc. shipping a while back as a project, it was not a runner I had to strip the whole car, reinforce the previous repairs, create a new bumper mount on the chassis from plastex, repair the wheels, install new ball bearings, motor and steel pinion. It has been run for nearly 10 hours in dry conditions on tarmac, no problems please see my showroom link for more details This can continue to run but only recommended on flat dry tarmac, no jumps! If your looking for a cheap runner to get a feel of the car, this is it It probably isn't suitable for restoration because youll end up replacing most of the parts I'm only selling it as I have another restored Striker to run after being fortunate to get hold of a bundle of spares recently
  7. In mint NIB condition at a good price! http://www.ebay.com/itm/NIB-Vintage-Tamiya-6N-1200SC-7-2v-Hardcase-Hump-Ni-Cd-Battery-NEVER-OPENED-5508-/331717551345 http://www.ebay.com/sch/waynethebrain/m.html
  8. For those who've collected new in box vintage Tamiya kits, or vintage kits and models from any other brands... Just interested to hear how you store them these days. Shelving - do you have a dedicated shelf space for them? Stacking - do you store them stacked, with one box on top of the other? How high do you stack? Vertical or Horizontal - do you lie the boxes down, or stand them vertically? Bags - do you keep them in bags of any kind, for protection? Display - do you have the good fortune of being able to have some kits on display? Or are they all packed in your closet/bathroom/minivan/grandma's kitchen? Climate/humidity - are they in a room with consistent temperature? Vaults - are your kits in the house? In the roof? In a shed? In a chook pen? Underground? In the Cloud? Security - Alarms? Rottweilers? Geese? For security, I enjoy the Weyland Yutani UA 571-C Remote Sentry Weapon System, as it has the convenience of self-targeting. Although it does require re-arming more often than I'd like, causing me to have to get off the couch. Also, cracked blisters... Cracked blisters are common in vintage kits, particularly the one for the motor. People have said over the years that this is caused by standing kits vertically, due to the weight of the motor gradually causing the blister to break. But do we have definitive proof of this? Does mere vertical standing of the box cause the cracking? It seems weird in a way, for the blister to crack along specific lines, when the kit is sitting completely still, on a shelf. I could imagine the blister peeling away from the cardboard as a result of this. But not cracking. Perhaps the cracking occurs more due to transportation, where the motor rattles around more inside the blister and deteriorates the blister. Kits that are 30 years old or more, may have been transported many times - in cars, planes, boats. Carried across borders, under fences. Along drains, sewers. People sprinting through fields, ducking and weaving past other collectors. Or dodging the bullets from a Weyland Yutani UA 571-C RSWS*. Or perhaps cracked blisters have simply been exposed to more light, as this is definitely something that will deteriorate the thin plastic. Thoughts? H. * Not possible.
  9. Hey all here's another NIB vintage kit I'm parting with that has the tiniest imperfection but for that reason I am selling it at another bargain price. The ONLY thing wrong with this kit is that in ONE place on one of the chassis sprues the chassis has disconnected from the sprue. SEE PICS! http://www.ebay.com/itm/331683479642 (** UPDATED LINK **) Note: there is a small dent in this corner (only) Here is the imperfection:
  10. Hey guys some of you may have seen the NIB Vintage Fox I have listed on eBay. I've decided to update the listing with my rock bottom price of $375 shipped in U.S. or at-cost int'l. Have a look at the pics below. Is in great NIB shape except original owner assembled wheels / tires. http://www.ebay.com/itm/331681180763 (** UPDATED LINK **)
  11. Hey guys - I'm starting to take stock of my pending Tamiya projects and parts and will be selling along some items that were for projects I don't have time for so I can work on a few projects as time permits. First off I have this nice Fox body + decal set straight out of a vintage NIB kit that I meant to use for a build. But I've already done several vintage Fox builds so I'm selling this along for $100 + free US shipping, at-cost global. Just the decals alone are worth almost that, so if you are interested I'd go snag it. It's up on ebay at this link: http://www.ebay.com/itm/331654724292 Stay tuned for more over the coming weeks! BEEF
  12. I decided to keep the body and radio originally listed with this so I could offer a lower price and reduced shipping cost. Relisted at this link and see updated pics below: http://www.ebay.com/itm/New-built-Vintage-Tamiya-Fox-w-Installed-Receiver-MSC-58051-5851-RARE-CONDITION-/331679430987
  13. ** I'VE DECIDED TO KEEP THE BODY AND RADIO AND RELISTED THIS FOR LESS $ AND CHEAPER TO SHIP ** Will post as a new thread with the updated pics + link.

  15. Hi all, I'm hoping that one of you guys will have a solution for me. I've fully restored my 1989 vintage Madcap 58082 and taken it out for a few runs now. It runs great, especially with the Hop-ups and the GT-Tuned motor, but I keep breaking the C4 part - Front C-Hub (not the steering arm, which is now upgraded to carbon reinforced) I know its 26 years old buggy and not up to todays quality standards, but its so annoying as this is the 2nd time now in a month (and sourcing new C4 parts is getting harder) I know newer models have alloy parts from GMP, Yeah Racing etc. Is there an alloy part that will fit my buggy Tamiya or otherwise?... or am I destined to spend £££ on 3D printing an alloy version. Photo attached Thanks Madcap74
  16. I have a complete set, still in the wrapper of decals for the MB that I am willing to part with to a good home. I have just dusted my MB off after 20 years plus in the attic and will just use it for bashing, it would be a shame to waste these on that. Here are some pics, I can give more if required. As you can see from the pics of the backing sheet these are 100% genuine original and from the gunk on the tape I have never opened the packet.
  17. Nice Vintage Super Champ New In Box looking for a new home! Check out the pictures and ask any questions. Everything is i great condition! Looking for $899.... if local you can pick up. I am in New Jersey. I will ship to USA for free, out of country we will have to figure out costs.
  18. Hi, In an old RRC magazine there was a toy fair that featured Tamiya team cars the Astute and Top Force. I think they were Alan Harmans. The Top Force below was featured in a RRC magazine. Has anyone seen any info on the Team car Astute that partnered it, it had the same Mclaren Marlborough livery? http://i1194.photobucket.com/albums/aa378/percymon/58100%20Tamiya%20Top%20Force/TRF1.jpg Thanks, Andy
  19. I recently obtained this "barn find" vintage Tamiya buggy. I believe it is a Grasshopper, but I'm not sure. The back wheels are definitely not stock. Can anyone help verify my ID of this buggy? It's rough, but is there any value in it. Thanks!
  20. Hi All Just started a fan group for the older Kyosho Car Crusher series of monster trucks. Big Brute Nitro Brute Hi Rider Vette Double Dare Big Boss USA 1 (electric and nitro) https://www.facebook.com/groups/1559558210958921/ Feel free to come join and have a look
  21. Rather than store/throw out old bodies, I repair them internally and use them for airbrush practice. Here's a recent one, most of it is painted except for the "Hornet racing Team" along the sides.
  22. Hi all. I've picked up a vintage Blackfoot from ebay. It's in pretty good condition for a 30 year old model but far from perfect. I'm going to strip it down and give it a good clean and replace any damaged parts. It'll probably be on my shelf most of the time with the occasional drive. I've already bought a few things which I knew were missing. Firstly I bought a chrome grill which is from the blackfoot III. This will do until/if an original comes along. Secondly the spot lights were missing so I ordered a set of these too. After a brief look at the truck I'll need the small front mount that goes into the bonnet of the shell which has snapped off and the strut brace that goes between the 2 mounts for the rear of the shell has split. Also I popped off the rear wheel to see if it was ballraced but when I did the plastic hub fell in half so I'll probably be after a pair of those too! (It's not ballraced ). The parts list is starting to build up!! Oh and I'm after a driver too. The electrics have been changed to an Msonic 4 RV 15 speed controller (doesn't mean anything to me, good/bad?) and a Vision modified 23x1 motor. On the speed controller is a SET button? Are these items worth keeping? It looks like they have put some plastic at the other side of the motor which has been cut to to size so I'd like to replace this with a proper motor mount (if that's what it's called). The power switch is on the chassis but all the wires have been cut. It's got an old 27mhz 2 channel receiver and lastly an acoms IC servo AS-12. The shell is solid with no cracks or missing pieces and it has the original stickers which some have started to lift slightly at the edges. I'd ideally like to paint the shell a gloss black and put the new decal set on but is this a no no with a 30 year old vintage tamiya with an original decal set!? If I do paint the shell there are some little nicks which I'd like to fill with some kind of plastic modelling putty so it's all straight as it should be. Any recommendations? Wheels and tyres are near perfect. I'm really new to all this so any recommedations about how to do things, where to get stuff and source items, upgrade etc is more than welcome. Oh feel free to post your pics too, I'd love to see some other original blackfoot and what you've done to it etc. Current shopping list : Driver ✔ Hubs for rear wheels x2 Motor mount front mount for shell ✔ Strut for rear shell mount points Chrome grill - original blackfoot Tamiya paint - black Ballrace kit 2.4ghz radio gear (any suggestions?) May be a flysky FS-GT3C or b (I do like the old stick controllers though ) Esc if I replace (suggestions?) Motor Tamiya torque tuned Some large capacity NiMH batteries Rear axles (black plastic parts which connect the rear suspension to the wheels) Servo cover for chassis Already bought : Blackfoot III chrome front and rear bumpers ✔ Spot lights ✔ Decal set ✔ Dual charger from modelsport ✔ Here's some pics : Pics bigger now. Thanks matman.

  24. Hello I am selling my vintage RC Ligier Js9 Matra. The car needs some restoration and it's good as a project to work in. The body is in good condition, and I have one more "training" body shell. I have a printed copy of the original instruction manual, It also has the original box in very good condition. I don't have the electronic parts. The price is 300€ (more or less 375$). It is in Spain but I could send it. Thank you
  25. SOLD Had this for years now and have never done it any good, so it's time I pass it on to someone that may do it some good rather than it hiding and gathering dust. I don't have great pictures at the moment but I'll get some at the weekend if anyone wants. It's in parts at the moment. Here are a few pictures to give a general idea of condition. Have a look in the photobucket album for more pictures, note though that the pictures of it as together are older pictures, but nothing has changed since other than it being taken apart! - The wheels and tyres on the scorcher are vintage items new from box (I bought these years before re-re's began.) - No Electronics are included - Any SRB spares I have will be included SOLD Matt Photobucket Folder http://s14.photobucket.com/user/Madmat4x4/library/Sand%20Scorcher
