ok so the plan is simple design a 3d printable tractor that works as a scale crawler. It is sopposed to be durable with most parts 3d printed but some parts bought for added durability. It should be easy to build and maintain and all party should be easily available. So here is the Idea: No suspension an no diff on the rear, with big rc4wd mud basher 2.2 smaller tires on an axle in front with a servo on the axle before i can start there is a question i hope you guys can answer: In wanted to use dt03 front tires as front tires for my tractor but they are only 80mm in diameter are there bigger tires that would fit the style available? maybe bbx front tires? how big are the bbx front tires in dameter?

...... And I MEAN late to the party! I'm 60, about to be 61. These 3D Printer gizmo marvels have been around, used, modified, rewritten, mechanically upgraded and tinkered with... for nearly a quarter century! But me..... I've never even SEEN one, except in catalogs and websites. I don't have the slightest clue how one works! š® I've never seen anyone do CAD, or even slice a file. I've spent the last 20 some-odd years practically BEGGING the few who had printers, to print things for me.... because most printing shops were EXPENSIVE. And Shapeways was even WORSE! (Mainly, unfair shipping rates) So..... guess what? My best friend just informed me that I'm getting THIS for my birthday, next month!!! š®š²š²ā¤ļø So.... questions: IS it a good one? How good? If I was the sadistic type, I'd say "I need to nearly DIE more often. I've been literally spoiled since November!!" šš¤£ NO, REALLY! I couldn't and wouldn't. I wouldn't wish what happened to me, on anyone. It really was a living badword for a while. And, it will never be over. I'll6ā¶ have permanent heart issues, breathing problems and balance/walking issues. Really broad question but, HOW DO YOU 3D PRINT? I'm not kidding.... I've never seen or touched one before. At least I don't need to UNlearn anything! I NEED YOUR HELP! Does anyone have the patience to teach an Old Fart how to at least get printing simple items.... plus how to prepare (slice) the files for spaghetti free printing!!??? If I happen to get fairly good, I'd gladly print things for you.

Hi, While drawing the Tamiya Hotshot parts in CAD for hobby tinkering, I got the idea to try designing an alternative body. This is simply a silly & subjective vision of how the "little boy in me" imagines a "Hotshot 3" in some parallel universe. Render images often look fancy, but you have to be a bit skeptical about how they will actually turn out in reality. 3D printing, of course, offers more design freedom compared to good old vacuum forming, and you can experiment with different shapes and curves in CAD. However, I wanted for my HS3 to retain the sleek character of the original HS1. For a simple and sturdy print, I split both the body and wing in the middle. I printed them in PETG, as the body parts need to be robust enough for RC use. After printing, the wing and body parts are glued together using 1mm spring wire pins and 2-component epoxy. The spring steel wires run through the entire body to ensure maximum durability during rough RC operation. After applying some thick filler and a lot of sanding (2-3 hours as you have to wait for each filler layer to set), followed by painting, I achieved a nice, smooth surface. The printer and print quality donāt really matter if youār planning to sand and paint printed parts (Iām using a cheap Ender 3). For paint, I used 2-component automotive paint. Painting with 2K paint is a bit more time-consuming since you have to meticulously clean the airbrush, but this type of paint is very durable. Regular paint is too susceptible to wear during driving and when using cleaning solvents like Isopropyl. The air scoop actually serves a practical purpose, I swear š (Sectional CAD View) My boxed in ESC has occasionally shut off due to overheating after extended runs, so I wanted to give it access to a cooling breeze. At first, I wasnāt sure if I wanted to apply decals at all, but to be honest, a Hotshot without fantasy company logos would look a bit bare. By the way, the aluminum roof is also held in place by a 3D-printed part (to avoid the usual cable ties). The body itself is secured with cylindrical Ć5mm neodymium magnets (the counterpart magnets are placed in the original antenna mounts, which conveniently have the same inner diameter). I skipped the clip pins for the wing (as with the original wing). It holds up well enough without them, and it reduces the risk of damaging the part in a crash. The body is with its cut-out quite tailored to the motor Iām using (a Hobbywing QuicRun G2 3650SD), so please keep that in mind if you want to print the parts yourself. All in all, it was a fun project and Iām happy with it, Iām currently printing a second set for my other Hotshot (that one is a Hotshot 2, but body and wing also fit here). I didn“t want this TA03. It came to me by.... fate ? It all started when a Tamiya 58278 appeared on ebay with numerous aluminium parts. All for 180.- buy now. The alu parts were "worth" that alone, so i bought. I exchanged those to plastic and sold the 58278 on on ebay kleinanzeigen, for a fair 110.-. The car had never appealed to me. I“m a kid of the late 80s and 90s, so I didn“t get the hype with the 83 car. Also the proportions, the hard body, a bit toyish impression, no performance and lightweight, etc...... nothing I ever considered. THEN the buyer of the car didn“t like it. He said it“s not alright, bla bla bla.. Friendly as I am, I just took it back, although I probably wasn“t obliged to do so at all. The buyer did have 1:1 Lancias but probably not my TA03 knowledge. MEANWHILE, I had done some research on the car (synonym for I went into the rabbithole)..... These were the links that especially impressed me. There are many more, but after watchin those, I was hooked. THAT sound of this car is so insane and special. The Giugaro styling which seems really functional and not at all finicky or artificial. It is like a F40 / Esprit for Rallying. Especially the look in that first link impressed me - A Modern restoration of a retro car, with some touches that make it nicer than back in the day - and not all the same martini (gorgeous, yes, but my eyes have become bored by it really much). So this was what I was going to do with it: A QUICK RESTO MOD. Haha.
