  1. At first I didn't like the blackfoot coming into this hobby last year as I was a Tamiya King Cab Nissan lover but it grew on me and I said to myself I have to at least have 1 in my collection so after researching I noticed tamiya made quite a few versions of them. I have always been the person to root for the underdog so I went with the least popular one the blackfoot III. This is my take on it so far. The driver is back from the dead and want some get back on the ones responsible for shooting and killing him off. I gave him a superstock motor with a 3s lipo to help catch them and run them off the streets. I just hope they don't have a brushless system in theirs lol Anyway I had fun building this one and wanted to share. What is your favorite blackfoot? Lets see those builds!
  2. Misses is out, so Tooltime. Always dissatisfied how wobbly the servo is mounted in the WT01/WR01/WR02 chassis. The new DT03 and MF01x chassis however have these nice sturdy mounts. So down to the basement and hack away at the chassis some platicard and a bit of POM. To get this to fit You have to cut away one bit and for more stability add a spacer Which would come out a bit like this This is the first prototype, should be possible to have it printed at shapeway or maybe milled from alloy. Screws for the servo With some spacers makes the height variable Fitted into the chassis Leftside Rightside If I get to it I will make a sketch with some measurements.
  3. Hi guys - for a while and over a few different threads I've been working on various aspects of a Blackfoot 3 runner for my 5yo son Oliver. It's got the dual motor conversion and have gone with the classic look for it and I think it's come out great. Especially when it's running around outside it really looks quite a bit like the original Blackfoot. To add to the vintage charm I wanted to figure out how to mount vintage wheels onto it. There were some challenges that I detail in this showroom entry I just posted for it: http://www.tamiyaclub.com/showroom_model.asp?cid=128320 Go check it out, and I'll post up the pics below as well. If it weren't for the stability benefits as a runner for a 5yo of the extra wide stance I'd definitely use the Amarok suspension conversion which I think would really make the result look great. However, as it is I think it still looks good and it dang near impossible to roll.
  4. Lots of WT-01 parts for sale. Multiple parts of each except gearboxes (None!). Most of the offered WT-01 parts are from new unused XB-models. Accordingly, they have ben assembled once by Tamiya Philippine plant workers. The models have however never been run and the parts are as such unused. Send me a PM if interested. Need to get rid of surplus parts, so the prices for WT-01 parts are very reasonable! (PS: I know the 4WD versions aren't really officially named WT-01 by Tamiya, but as Tamiya just refer to them "Wild Dagger Chassis" and "Twin Detonator Chassis", I chose to refer to them all as WT-01)
  5. Already have a Blackfoot Xtreme 2-motor conversion runner with a BF3 body set, so don't really need to build or hold onto this. Will give you guys a chance to grab it before putting up on ebay. Comes with full ball bearings. ps- Just the included body set alone is going for about $130 shipped on ebay...
