  1. Hi all, So I have 4 unbuilt kits in the loft and an old school Monster beetle with a Acoms ( crystal) transmitter from 1985. What I want to do is to be able to control the new 4 unbuilt kits through 1 transmitter. I assume things are digital these days rather than analog. I need your recommendations as to how to do this and what is the best kit to buy. I’ve heard that this can be done.. just don’t know where to start. I can’t use the wheel style transmitters, so am only after the 2stick type transmitter. Based in the UK and getting back into RC’ing after a 38 yr hiatus!! My unbuilt kits are Wild One ( blockhead), 2011Avante, re re Hotshot and rere Sand Scorcher. I’ve also got the front body pillar that I can swap out and put the racing buggy body onto that chassis too.
  2. Hello. I am recently getting into 1/24th scale RC drifting. Having a bit of trouble though. As I am new to this, not really sure what good sources there are for just 1/24th scale stuff. Sometimes I’ll be looking at a motor, or ESC, or something and I’ll check around for reviews on multiple sites, and then by the 3rd site I find out it’s a 1/10th scale item even though I’m specifically searching for 1/24th scale electronics. Quick rundown of what I currently have: Chassis: Drift Art 2.6ex Chassis Drift Art 3s Chassis (on pre-order currently) Electronics: DriftArt DVF-AFRC V3 Servo DA-SV-D1 DriftArt HGV4 gyro with Shell Red DA-GYSL-4CR Controller: Futaba 10PX I am looking for some recommendations on any of my missing electronics. If they are compatible with the fancier features of the 10PX that would be great (the real time tuning and adjusting stuff). But even if it can’t be done with just the 10PX (I’ve learned most electronics with these features are 1/10th scale unfortunately ex. Acuvance Xarvis XX). I would like some real time way of making adjustments, I’ve seen some parts mentioning iOS apps and such with Hobby Wing and Furitek parts. I have a fairly good budget remaining for the rest of the electronics. I don’t mind spending extra for nice added features. such as real time adjusting and that stuff. I am in search of a quality ESC right now, looking for something sensored, brushless, and will play well with my 10PX for any added bells and whistles. Currently researching the “ATOMIC Mini 24A Sensored ESC”. I know the ESC I choose will determine my choices for possible batteries & motors so if their is a better option out there far as ESC’s go please drop the item or link below. Once I have ordered the ESC I will be looking for recommendations of motors & batteries, just don’t want to get ahead of myself and end up with parts that are incompatible. Thanks for any help/advice.

  4. This is kind of a long shot, but I just received an old Futaba FP-T2NBR transmitter from ebay, but the return springs and lever arms have been removed from both gimbals - the parts that cause them to return to center. It was used in a boat model and apparently the owner wanted to be able to set the throttle and forget it. Otherwise, the unit is in fantastic condition and I'd like to see it restored. Has anyone got an old, non-working 2NBR that they could sacrifice the gimbals from? Thanks!
  5. A little help from the pros please. I am rebuilding my 86 Hornet. Looking good so far. I purchased a Tamiya TBLE-02S ESC to replace the original MSC, as it was just beat up beyond repair. My original Futaba receiver(FP-R2GS) is in great shape so I was planning on using it for the rebuild. However, I have come across a problem The connector from the new ESC to the receiver is totally different from the original. 1. Are these two components compatible? 2. Is there an adapter available? Source? 3. Or can I simple snip off the connectors and rewire? Any help is greatly appreciated!! kal
  6. Hi, I am in the UK and I have an old Futaba 4EX 4 channel Transmitter I am running my Tamiya Ford F350 Hi Lift with. The problem I have is it came with an old 1000mah 8 in a row AA NiCad battery pack with a JR/HiTech connector (I think), which now is only lasting 30 minutes or so. I have seen suitable larger mah packs for sale but wondered if I can I use a lipo pack without any modification to the transmitter. Obviously I would have to consider the size of the pack. Any help would be gratefully appreciated. Thanks
  7. Hi guys - I've got a couple auctions ending the next couple of days for: a super-nice new-built Futaba FX10 w/ New Body, Box, Manual http://www.ebay.com/itm/331958110943 a super-rare NIB FX10 Body Set http://www.ebay.com/itm/331958122649
  8. Hi, first time here on the forum so go easy on me I own a lovely "Tamiya Scania R620" truck with the "MFC-03" and a "Futaba T8J" radio. Currently everything is built and connected but im struggling to find/get all functions to work. Things like "forward, backwards, selecting gear 1-2-3, start, horn, flashing lights, indicators" works fine. But when trying to get all other things to work its a hit or miss. Been reading all the manual for everything 3 times but biggest problem seems to find a function and then add/map it to a radio button. I found this video that seems like the perfect match, but havent been able to contact the owner. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sKwpj18tTcE Please, anyone out there with any advice how to map the radio buttons? Thanks and best regards. \Chris.
  9. I have been building a Tamiya Bruiser Hilux over the last 6 months which I bought just before Xmas last year. I didn't start the build until after xmas during the holiday period and managed to complete the chassis for the most part in those couple of weeks. I have documented the build in depth as I went (for another forum) since I couldn't access this one at the time but it seems a shame not to mirror it on here where it will no doubt be appreciated more. It is not yet complete so I will post up the steps which take me to where I am now. It has been an awesome build and hopefully it'll give those considering one a taste of what it is like to build one. I sat on the fence for a long time with this because it is a substantial outlay but what an epic build and model it is. My apologies in advance since this was written at the time and so it might seem a little strange in the use of the past tense but I'm carrying much of the diary over as I wrote it then, to capture the spirit/mindset at the time of build. So here's where it started..... The box art; Box contents; Chassis and axles; all set out ready for start The kit comes with these tools; Parts bag A. Comes with threadlock paste and grease etc. Thankfully, unlike other Tamiya kits where you are constantly reaching for other part bags each containing the necesary parts for particular steps, it appears that the bruiser kit is in proper part bag steps, so steps 1-9 appear to pertain purely to parts bag A which should keep things somewhat tidier. more to follow...
  10. My super rare, only one on TC, NIB Futaba FXT kit is up for grabs on ebay! Auction ends Wed Feb 17 ~ 5AM GMT / 12AM EST. http://www.ebay.com/itm/331774611082
  11. Some of you guys no doubt remember my posts about the FX10 and FXT - a Futaba-branded variant of the Striker and Stadium Blitzer, respectively - and happening upon a NIB FXT recently. Well, I've had the opportunity to covet it for a while and since I was in the middle of focusing my collection and rearranging space I think I'll probably sell this on to someone who will appreciate it. Before I make any moves to list it on ebay - is there anyone here who'd be interested in it? I'm most likely going to be earmarking the proceeds of selling this toward replacing one of my previously unsealed NIB Tamiya kits with a sealed one of the same. So unfortunately no trades unless you happen to have a sealed NIB Frog to trade and then I'd be adding something from my side to balance the trade. Let me know, here or via PM, if interested!
  12. I had scooped up the makings of at least one new-built Futaba FX10 over the years that I'd meant to build and include what is quite literally the red-headed step child of the Striker in my collection but I am accepting the reality I can't get to a lot of these projects and selling them off. Is there any interest here among any of you fellow TCers in a sale or trade for this set of parts? I could go into more detail if there is, but it's essentially a NIB kit, but with a mix of lots of individually packaged NIP parts including two whole chassis, decals, manual, box, etc. If anyone doesn't know the story of the FX10, Futaba hired Tamiya to manufacture a kit for them to rebadge as a Futaba product. Tamiya based it on the Striker and lots of parts are interchangeable. Where the Striker has blue accents the FX10 has red, and where the Striker has a hard canopy/chassis top the FX10 has a lexan canopy. The sides of the FX10 chassis are a little different from the Striker. Other than that they are the same car... but also a weird souvenir of that moment in time. Which is something we TCers can probably all understand. Check out this thread: http://www.tamiyaclub.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=69292 Let me know if anyone wants to discuss trades or offers before this goes up on fleabay!
  13. I was wandering if anyone has any experience with receivers that are compatible with the Futaba FAAST system? I have seen some frsky ones available but am not sure if they will work or not with the 3PKS with a faast system 2.4ghz module in the transmitter. I did try the V-F-TFR8 by frsky but it doesn't work with this system. Any clues or even better any experience with a compatible receiver that works? I only need 2 or 3 channels. cheers
