  1. This is my first post here. I have been viewing these forums for a while, enjoying all the posts, especially those that focus on building older Tamiya models. I am new to the RC world. During the 80s I was never able to own or build any cars. Just stared at the Grasshopper and the Frog in the local hobby shop. Got to try a Wild Willy once, that my uncle had made. Very sad childhood. Now a dad, bought a Grasshopper, then a Hornet, for my boy. He built them on his own like a champ. Made me jealous. Bought myself a Boomerang. Very fun. Built it, added lots of...er...hopups? However, I always thought the Hotshot looked really sweet. Couldn't justify buying one with the misses for sometime. Finally, thanks... to er...the Chinese Pandemic...had more time on my hands and was able to get my hands on this: I plan to merge the above, with this: I am a little ways into this build/rebuild, so I will have to do some catching up. I'll document things here for fun. Not sure if anyone is interested, but I at least know that the wifey is not. Perhaps someone here is. In any case, Greetings!
  2. Hi, I recently found my Hotshot 2 I had when I was a kid and decided to restore it. It's in generally good condition apart from some 30 year old dirt and a few missing or broken parts. I've managed to find everything I need apart from a driveshaft (SA1) and the metal cage that goes around the resistor. (BP2). I bought a few parts from Tony's Tamiya on eBay but he didn't have these two. He suggested I ask on here. I don't suppose anyone has the relevant spares and might be persuaded to part with them? Cheers in advance.
  3. Hi all, I am trying to track down the identity and any other useful information regarding the hop-up in this image (It is the gold sway bar support and sway bars/stopper etc.) I thought I had tracked it down once, but I can't recall or find the info I had. Does anyone recognize it? Thanks in advance if anyone does!
  4. No, this isn't a thread about a particularly strong vindaloo..... I've decided spend a bit less time on this hobby, and so am downsizing the amount of stuff I have. I'm starting off with spare parts, but later on I'm going to have some vehicles for sale as well (Maybe a Konghead, a Chrome Edition Midnight Pumpkin and a Jagdpanther). However, i can only photograph and advertise a certain amount in one go, so here we go: Quick list of Contents as the thread is getting long and is pic heavy 1.Boomerang D parts 2. yellow Kyosho rims 3. Boomerang blue bits 4. vanquish wheels (original - used) 7. re-re sand rover left over body parts 8. TT-01 gears. Some used and only lightly used, some new (Originally bought for an 8x8 project) 9. DF-02 axles (used) 10. King tiger turret rotation unit 11. TT-01 / DF-02 one way unit used spares (Outdrives, bearings, and ring gear) 12. Hotshot II underguard Partially complete Boomerang D parts. Vintage kyosho wheels, but no idea what they're off. Bigger than hotshot series wheels so maybe 2.2" ? Boomerang / Bigwig blue spares (Some new, some used, will split if required.) Super Sabre unique spares (New) (Now sold) Avante 2011 Hop up wheels (Vanquish clones, but nice and white) (Now sold) vanquish wheels, pretty certain they are genuine vintage due to the slight discoloration, 2 matched pairs of front wheels, and 1 pair of rear wheels with some really old, hard oval blocks. The rear wheels appear to be both lefts (or rights), not a matched pair. Will split up if required. And lastly, (Till I get into the next box of parts), a home made by me (Still machined aluminium though) adapter plate for fitting a Hotshot gearbox to a hornet / grasshopper chassis. Alloy blocks fit in where the hornet gearbox mounts fit, and the fibreglass plate screws to the mount for the hotshot battery plate. The gearbox still requires attachment to the top of the chassis but it can be fairly easily. I've not put prices on any of it, let me know what they're worth to you, payment via paypal please. Once I get payment I will post items via Royal Mail signed for, as a minimum.
  5. May be of interest to some on here. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Collection-Of-RC-Cars-Manta-Ray-Stadium-Blitzer-Land-Cruiser/192494090930?_trkparms=aid%3D111001%26algo%3DREC.SEED%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D20131017132637%26meid%3D0ad5a5a81f014e06a7a1dd77e31fdf87%26pid%3D100033%26rk%3D6%26rkt%3D8%26mehot%3Dpp%26sd%3D202276584894%26itm%3D192494090930&_trksid=p2045573.c100033.m2042
  6. Sorry if this has been asked before, but I can!t seem to find the right answer Usein the search function. I recently got my hands on a nice Hotshot II. Some parts are missing, but I have managed to locate spares for most of them. My problem is that one of the front drive shafts is missing. Could you guys please tell me which drive shaft I can use as an alternative? Is there an alternative in one of the re-re-kits? Or do I have to wait until original Hotshot II spares turn up? Thanks!

  8. Hi, I found these in an old box of stuff. The D parts are brand new. However, the biggest parts have been removed. The wing is USED, but is good shape. $40 plus shipping. I'll ship in the states for $5 using priority mail flat rate. Anywhere else, I'll have to work with you. Thanks, Ryan
  9. hello smart people. i've been keeping my eyes peeled for ages looking for a NIP hotshot II MSC, to no avail. what i'm wondering is if the bigwig MSC is the same as the hotshot II? they both have the control arm / switch plate setup and one resistor, unlike most of the other control arm / switch plate MSCs which have 2 resistors (hotshot, fox, supershot, etc). anybody know?
