  1. Thought i might as well put this up, managed to grab one of these NiB last year. Its been a long but enjoyable build though the bit i hate (painting the body) is still to come. Inspired by some of the builds on here there were some must-do mods to make this a really nice-looking truck. Full ball bearings of course, and twin UGT 24T motors with steel pinions. Hobbywing WP-880 dual motor ESC for simplicity. Removed the black anodizing from the side plates and suspension links, looks way better. I used the Xtreme Juggernaut steering servo mounts front and rear. These were a bit tricky to fit, i think i must have assembled the axle/servo assemblies 5 times before i got it right, as the steering rods will hit the suspension arms if not done right. In the end theres just enough clearance, i had to slightly bend the link rod to clear the servo horn and didnt run a servo saver as there wasnt room, whatever, these are $20 servos so.... Put black heatshrink tubing over the servo cables so it looks better. Same setup for the rear and i tested it and it all works well. Looks so much better than the factory setup.
  2. Hi folks, I'm looking at installing some kind of dual brushless setup in my TXT-2 since now it has TXT-1 wheels and tyres it's not quite as nippy as it was with 2xsport tuned motors and the Tamiya dual motor ESC. This is partly inspired by Matteo Meier's TXT-2 mods here: He used two 45048 TBLE-01S controllers and two 54272 12T TBLM-01S motors. I have a suitable radio with mixing so I can duplicate the setup. I'm not wedded to using Tamiya stuff (although it's always confidence inspiring!) but I was looking on Banzai and the ESC/motor sets seem pretty reasonably priced. The only thing is that the 12T set is out of stock (and I think not coming back). They do have the 16T set - is this going to do the job? Is it like brushed where more turns means more torque/lower RPM? Will the extra torque hurt the stock+ drive train (I replaced the prop shafts and added steel pinions, but the gearbox and axles are stock). I could also get the bits separately for somewhat more money, or go with a different brand. Suggestions are very welcome since I haven't done brushless before and I'm pretty clueless. Thanks, Will
  3. Just found this video on YouTube with some great video coverage (at the Grand Prix of Long Beach) of the new TXT-2 Agrios. The truck is only in a display case but you get some nice insights into some of the finer details of the truck. You need to fast forward to 7:30 to get to the right bit... I've got mine pre-ordered with Fusion with an estimate dispatch date of May 10th...can't wait! Enjoy. Mike.
