Since there is a variety of members here from around the world, I'd like to know what you think about the "basher" scene thats big here in the States. Admittedly I wasn't aware of the term until earlier this year, after getting back into RCs from a long hiatus. Im still unclear if "bashing" means just playing with RCs or it implies crazy 20 foot jumps (then bad mouthing the manufacterer). I'm a bit mixed on the crazier stunt "bashing" though, yes RCs do break, and I do have two dedicated bashers (ECX Torment and a Slash), but it feels a bit predatory given the usual RTR demographic. I only jump mine over curbs into the grass, no ramps or skateparks. Coming from a background in auto repair I always find it funny when Im told "parts will break", imagine if car salesman were that blunt! But after seeing the stunts that some people try to pull off I can see why I hear that so often.

Okay guys... I know I can rely on you for some support here. I need some help on which spur gear and pinion to use. So, my lunchbox seems to run so so well, no problems there. However, I also have DF03 and DF03ra, and it's with these two that I need the help... Both are second hand, and I've stripped them down to the last screw for a thorough clean and refurb... Came across a few issues, which I've enjoyed trying to resolve, such as the previous owner adding 2 thrust bearings to one diff joint, which obviously when tightened compacted and crushed the d5 t part, nightmare to try and dig this out! So, the plan is for me and my two sons (8 and 4) to go bashing on grass, tarmac car parks and flat dirt roads... Ill use the LB, 8 year old will be in control of the df03 and the 4 year old the df03ra. So we don't need anything super fast, just fun, and controllable! I only want to use the equipment and components I currently have... Nothing new, and get the best set up. The df03 can be the better of the two, to be fair, my eldest lad is probably nearly as capable as I am! Both cars have standard stock wheels and tyres. This is what I have: 1 x stock silver can, 1 x sport tuned black can. Spur gears 3 x 82T, 2 x 78T, 1 x 75T. Pinion 26, 25, 29, 32. Slipper clutch x 2. Hobbywing 1060 esc, tamiya 105bk esc. Alturn AAS-700std servo, tamiya tsu-03 servo. Running 7.2 3000 NiMH Hope you can help with the best set up using what I currently have, it's all really confused me to be honest. This post contains my experience/thoughts on: *Brushless 10.5 motor in a CC-01 ...hehehe *Soft spots on the CC-01... what have broken during my bashing... oops *Mud, puddles, grass and Mud flaps (home made) - what difference does it make? ------------- So, I've been using my CC-01 Pajero Rally Sport to play garden rally. A rally car isn't a crawler, so when my hobby store had a sale i naturally purchased a 10.5T brushless(the limit of the TBLE-02s i think) for laughs. And boy, did and do i laugh! Hehe, i can rarely push the pedal to teh metal so to speak, but it actually gives me more satisfaction to hold back a little and push the limits in every corner than just apply full throttle all the time. It takes some skill to maneuver an overpowered beast And of course it sometimes results in death defying spins, rolls, flips and crashes... but my inner kid likes that now and then. This sturdy little thing can take it... most of the time... Since i started my rally career i have broken some parts... but very few.... and this was actually before the 10.5, it was with the stock motor.The first thing to go was the ... uhm.. Skid-plate? i ran full speed into a concrete stone. After two CA-gluing sessions without success, i managed to repair with cable ties so i could play while i waited for the aluminum spare. I also broke the "knuckle arms" (?) where i had to drill new holes for the steering linkage, easy fix. For the long run i got some aluminum spares. I mean, who doesn't like to buy and upgrade stuff? I waterprotected my esc with liquid tape (golly, that was some sticky messy mess, and not really easy to do if you ask me) and got me a water-protected servo and protected my receiver in a removable two-barrier-box super invention. Mud and puddles here i come! Fun fun fun! But i was a bit disappointed by all the muck I had to clean inside afterwards, ....so I made some mud flaps from an inside rubber tube from a car tire (?). The mess was significantly less, but still required some cleaning . Might have to refine... Although most people seem to be using their cc-01 as crawlers or alike... i wholeheartedly recommend it as a full speed insanity rally machine... All in all, the CC-01 is a lovely car to drive like a maniac. And last.. I am not sure it comes through in the text above, but i really really really like the CC-01. It gives great pleasure to build, tinker with and customize - "how can i improve this?". And i just had to get another one, a FJ Cruiser in which i installed lights and stock motor, my kids love to drive it. Who knows, i might even get a third to crawl with UPDATE! So, the driveshaft could not handle the 10,5t... It went to pieces in the obvious places. But the rest is still going strong hehe...

Hi all I'm looking to start a regular indoor meet in Wakefield West Yorkshire (2 miles from the Junction of M1 and M62). The purpose of this is to provide a fun race venue for all kinds of RC (A kind of bashing racing league - Think of the video game re-volt). I will invest in carpet and can even get hold of timing gear but i want to know if there would be enough interest out there for such a venue? My initial thoughts are this would be a Sunday afternoon session to start with. About four hours with half being about fun and the rest a bit of a mini cup - different classes / different races).
