Here it is, folks! The long-awaited Revival 2024 Race Report! It's actually hard to imagine that just 3 weeks ago I was in a pub in Broxtowe, drinking beers with my pit buddies and having a great time. It all seems like such a long time ago now. Fortunately I made some notes during the weekend, so I can remember the trials and tribulations, and hopefully, put together a half-decent race report. Unfortunately I was writing on a wonky pit table with damp paper and an over-exuberant fibre tip pen, so it's debatable that I can read my handwriting. Potentially there will be races where I altered the hobbit and change the grunge ration. Also note that I didn't take a lot of pictures of my own efforts, I did take a few of the pits and racing and I'll upload them when I have time and leave a link in the thread so you can peruse at leisure, but don't expect pics of my progress. Revival this year was a crazy affair, as the weekend began on Thursday morning when I set off from home for my office in Cheltenham for a works night out. Cheltenham is 2 hours from home, but I practically go right past it on the way to Revival, so it helped break up the journey, and put me in a great place to start the final leg the following morning, having overnighted in a decent hotel and had a proper breakfast. I also stopped in at Waitrose and picked up some £5 meal deal lunches - salads, fruit and fruit juice - as I've discovered they are a much healthier and more cost-effective way of lunching during these race meetings. I also feel way better over the weekend than if I cook sausages in the camper or buy burgers from the van on site. I didn't make any notes at all about Friday practice, so just take it as read that I put my Cougar and modified Hotshot on track for some lapping action, and tested out the new tyres that I'd been advised to buy. Weather on Friday was mostly dry. In the evening we walked up the hill to Wetherspoons and worked up a good thirst, had a fantastic night and came back early enough to get a good long sleep ready for racing in the morning.
