  1. Hi TC designers, I need to design some 2D parts that will get CNC cut out of carbon fiber. I have done it in the past with SolidWorks and got the parts made by FibreLite. A very rewarding experience that I want to reconduct. Back then I was a member of the Experimental Aircraft Association (I have a few hobbies...) and I would get some sort of a student version for free that I could use as long as I was not making money etc. I just want to build the parts for myself. Now, they changed the deal with EAA and long story short is I need to fork the full 100$ per year to get that student license back. Since I will only be designing that one part for my M-05 this year, the 100$ fee is a little steep. What is everyone using for CAD? Again this is for 2D carbon fiber, not 3D printing. Feel free to PM me if that is more appropriate. Thanks!
  2. I traded a few of my aluminum cnc sand scorcher chassis to my friend and he posted two of them for sale on ebay. this one is machined on the top and bottom, it took about 2.5 hours on my little cnc machine. Also I sand blasted it for a matt finish http://www.ebay.com/itm/CNC-Tamiya-Sand-Scorcher-VW-Chassis-plate-Aluminum-NEW-USA-Scale-Custom-TRF-SRB-/121789807050?hash=item1c5b3cf9ca:g:6QEAAOSwwbdWIYsg This one is machined on the top only and the screw holes for the radio box are counter sunk. http://www.ebay.com/itm/CNC-Tamiya-Sand-Scorcher-VW-Chassis-plate-Aluminum-NEW-USA-Scale-Custom-TRF-SRB-/121789805135?hash=item1c5b3cf24f:g:GWIAAOSw5ZBWIYdO This is what they look like mounted, They can mount in the regular spot or they can be attached above the mount tabs. They are 1/8 thick aluminum. I test fit each one the holes line up perfect.
  3. Hello I keep on upgrading my sand scorcher, you can see here (there are so many news than I can't post because I'm living out of home for some months but in two weeks I'll be back) Now I'm thinking about get some custom alloy rims, I dont know if I'll get the whole rim or only the cover (I think that probably only cover because it will be cheaper and easier) and I want to ask if somebody has planes or 3D models or something so I can take it to the place I'm going to book them. Thanks in advance
