  1. This is it, after finding my holy grail NIB last year, and spending another year gathering all the parts I wanted for this build I can finally start. First of all why is it my holy grail ? Well I'm a big fan of Toyota, big fan of Tom's, and everything JTCC/JGTC in general, and I actually own a car based on the same chassis, ae101, with the same 4A-GE 20v engine the Tom's Levin was running back in the day, plus a couple of period correct Tom's parts, in the 90s Tom's had whole parts catalog for street/track cars. So yeah this kit ticks many boxes for me . Since I haven't seen a NIB build of this kit here I thought it'd be nice to document the process for posterity. The plan is to build it as a "street version" first, 100% stock chassis and no livery, it's my first FF chassis and I'd like to know how it drives out of the box, run it once or twice, then mod the chassis and add the livery to the car, it may seems a bit silly but it'll feel like taking a stock car and build it for track, the child in me will enjoy this very much I also found this exploded view/parts list from a fellow collector, could look nice in a frame.
  2. I am repairing the front of my FF-01 and realize that I need a new skid plate. I cannot find any on the internet. Does anyone have one in excellent or new condition that they would be willing to part with (compensation will be offered)? It would be located on the A parts tree.
  3. Hey all.I have recently become very interested in the tamiya f chasiss.I like quirky, weird cars and the idea of a fwd rc car really excites me.Was wondering which f chassis is the most fun (and cost friendly).Would want to race at my carpet track one day
  4. I've recently picked up an FF-01 chassis and was wondering about parts compatibility. I've done some light research and it seems that quite a few parts from the TA02 are cross compatible with the FF01. From what I've found the hubs, knuckles, and chassis should all be cross compatible. I've heard the here is a chance the TA02SW carbon chassis along with J-parts tree fits on the FF-01 and am wondering if anyone has attempted it?
  5. Is it ok or just a mistake in the manual, that it wants me to put the rear left upright on the right side? I built it that way and now i have 1-2 degree toe out. I'm not sure if this is the right way to build it, because even my real car (Mazda3 FWD of course) has toe in on the rear, so i think that the manual states it false.
  6. Back when I was 17 I bought a new in box FF01 chassis Opel vectra from a guy at work. I built it up, did a dodgy red paint job and ditched 99% of the stickers. Dropped a 12x2 brushed motor in it (actually there was no brushless or Lipo in those days!) and basically burned rubber in straight lines everywhere and drove into curbs and walls while having nearly no control of the car in a continuous fashion. I never really got the car, it didn't turn, it didn't slow down, it didn't grip.. it just didn't. So by the time I was 18 the car was dumped in its box never to be looked at again. Fast forward 18 years and I don't know where the rest of the car went, but I think it deserves to be made into the car it should have been. With the release of the ff03 has ment I can buy the Opel vectra shell again and start this process from scratch, of course ff01 parts are a bit thin these days. Pictures below show what I'm starting with. I've got about 10 orders coming from all corners of the earth to get this thing back up and running in the coming week.
