  1. Now SOLD, please delete HEADLINE: FS Hotshot Re:Re (58391), NIB(ish), all parts present and correct, all parts as new, plus about £100 worth of extras: Tamiya TBLE-02ESC (£20) Etronix ET0012 9.0kg Heavy Duty Metal Geared Waterproof Servo (£18) Tamiya 54002 Hotshot Ball Bearing Set (£23) Tamiya 54501 TT-02 Aluminium Prop Shaft (£6) Tamiya 19805368 Diff Cups (x2 pairs) (£12) Jazrider Red Aluminium Front Knuckles (£10) Fastrax buggy wheel / tyre set / multi spoke / black / front and rear (£20) Extra / spare set of 0986139 front knuckles Partial spare D and E Parts trees £200 all in for collection from Cardiff, £15 for insured UK shipping. Payment by PayPal f&f. Here's a lot more detail, and some more pics: I've decided to sell my Hotshot Re:Re. The first two kits I built when I got back into this a couple of years ago were the heroes of my youth, a Bigwig and a Boomerang. I run them, I love them, and while I think the Hotshot is probably the best looking of the three, it's just way too similar to the other two, so it's time to move it on... So, the headline says that it's New in Box(ish). Lemme explain.... The kit is 100% complete, and every part is present, correct and brand new All plastic part bags are unopened However, I had some plans for alterations, which meant that at some point I opened up about 50% of the metal parts bags Some of them are still sealed and as new: But others have been opened. I've been through the manual and can confirm that every single screw, nut, bolt, e-clip, o-ring, screw pin and bushing is present and correct. I've repacked the open bags into clip-strip bags and labelled which bag they are, so everything is still stored (and can be built) as per the manual All body parts, wheels, tyres, stickers etc are as new The sale includes about £100 worth of extras as detailed above And a few extra plastic bits too....I planned to change the bulk of the red parts to black, so bought an extra set of D Parts and E Parts and set about painting them. They're included, so you can either use or bin the black ones, but the ones I didn't paint will make handy extra spares I've even thrown in a bag of Haribo for that true 'new kit' experience! And not just a 'fun-sized' bag either...the full size job! What a guy
  2. Howdy Folks, This is the true “barnyard” find. No funny business. So, back in Christmas of 1986, my uncle from Hong Kong mailed me a gift. It was a Tamiya Super Shot “Kit No. 5854**29800” in a box covered in Japanese... and superb artwork. He also sent along with it a KO Propo Expert EX-II Super Steering System, a Tamiya 7.2 Battery and a Tamiya charger. I was too young and stupid to know what I had. I opened it, put the tires on the super cool gold wheels (which still look absolutely brand new...), and attempted to assemble the first steps. I failed utterly in confusion... put all the pieces back into the box, and there they have sat for over thirty years, moving from house to house, closet shelf to closet shelf. And now... it is finally time to find this Super Shot a deserving home, with an enthusiast who can love and appreciate this wonderful toy. The Bad... So, first of all, bear in mind ALL of the parts are 100% unused, in both the Super Shot kit, and with the KO Propo. The box is slightly beat up over the years, with some tape that held it closed on the sides only (but thankfully secured the contents). All of the parts should be there, as I put them on a table, then put them back a day or so later, some of them in ziploc bags (several parts came secured in a plastic bubble blister cover). 90+% of the parts are still in the plastic blisters and little Tamiya/KO Propo bags... I really did not get very far at all. (YES, I have been asked— the “Technipower” motor is there, as well as the original battery, bearings, everything... unused and new from 1986.) The instructions are missing— I can only guess that I had a notion I could study the instructions and figure it out to try building it later (as I did that with the “Expert” Legos sometimes, studied the build first...), and then they likely got lost somewhere in time. The decals also seem to be missing; they are most probably in the instructions. However, I vaguely remember being advised by my cousin to paint the wing from the bottom so it could remain shiny (i.e., it is clear plastic), and I apparently applied decals to the wing in preparation for this. Lastly, several of the KO Propo parts seem to be in the Tamiya box (i.e., there are empty slots in the KO Propo styrofoam, and parts and connectors labeled “KO Propo” inside ziploc bags in the Tamiya box). There are some parts in the KO Propo box that are possibly for the Tamiya... little parts in bags, that a more experienced RC person could properly identify. (As of this writing, the kit is “as-is.” However, there is still some 50/50 chance that I may come across the instructions and decals in another one of dozens of boxes somewhere. If so, I do pledge to provide those to the new owner at my expense.) I do have photographs of this all. I am happy to share them, of course, and happy to answer any questions. I noticed this club is based in the the UK... I am in the United States, in Arizona. I have consulted with a few RC Hobby clubs and stores with regard to what I have, during my few days research of this vintage kit... especially considering the bottom threshold of “being ripped off” or taken advantage of. I understand that collectors want vintage toys to be as perfect and new as possible. As such, I do not expect the premium price of a “mint” pristine boxed example, especially considering the missing instructions and decals. However, I do think it is not unreasonable to expect a fair market value for this item, given the increasing scarcity of such toys. I have a very nice kit here, functionally complete and with much more upside than flaws, particularly for an enthusiast who would like to build the kit, or perhaps complete a collection or have “spares.” And I would greatly prefer that this kit go to a hobbyist who truly appreciates what this is, as opposed to someone who will just flip it for a fast buck because they have better connections in the RC community than a person like me with limited knowledge. So, if you can afford to make a reasonable offer, to enjoy this cool piece of Tamiya history... I’d love to talk to you. Let’s make a deal where this Super Shot finds a happy home. I am trying this route prior to ebay, because I was quite impressed with the enthusiasm and “showroom” collections of the club’s members... so I reckoned someone here would really appreciate this cool Tamiya kit. My name is Mort. I can be reached at “mortcompany” at google’s Gee mail. I am very happy to talk via telephone if you provide a name and number (and maybe a good time to ring). I would be returning the call from a 520 then nine-seven-nine number. I can do pay..pal or Zell..e, and guesstimate about $25 bucks shipping US. I don’t know about international cost, but I am willing to accommodate a serious buyer (and help deal with customs forms). Also, I am happy to provide my bona fides like identification, to ensure an honest and enjoyable transaction for us both. Thank you for looking! As for photos here... “Upload failed.” 🤷🏽‍♂️ “You are only allowed to upload 4.x MB” ...but I didn’t try more than a single 2MB pic. Happy to email them!
  3. For those that remember, or maybe seen it recently as shared by Mike Haswell, who remembers the article Hotting Up the Hot SHot from Model Cars magazine?? I had made some of the parts for a friend back in the day. and had always fancied doing one myself, but having never owned a runner Hot Shot, I had no excuse to try to make the parts. Well, it's looking good for me to finally pick up a HS this weekend. So, who has done this mod?? I'd love to do it in Carbon Fibre, but have no experience with such things. Love to hear what folks have done in modding their Hot Shots !
  4. I were given the remains of a boomerang by some friends but there was some other cars and bits that were in a job lot that fell through from the same people so have decided I don't need the hassle to rebuild as have to many projects. I have rebuilt the front and rear gearboxes and attached front arms so the front end is pretty much complete. The chassis is fairly complete it dose come with wheels and body shell which is badly painted but has no crash damage just a badly made hole and a small area cut out by the back window. The Boomerang has got it original manual and body kit manual with it, it will need a new set of rear arms as they were all split but will include everything that I have got. I also got a few parts from a hot shot like part of the roll cage and also hubs two gearbox cases and a few other assorted parts. I will add pictures tomorrow as don't have any at the moment. I am looking for £40 OBO for the parts I am happy to negotiate though.
  5. I recently purchased a NIB re-re Boomerang from ebay, I was soooo excited, but alas, my payment was refunded with a message saying 'sorry, it has already been sold' So now, while my refund is 'pending' on paypal, I have had some time to think... I want a 4WD buggy, I always wanted a HotShot as a child, but, on reflection, I see there are a number of other options... So I turn to the infinite wisdom of the gestalt! I want something I can bash, so durable with good spares available, I want to be able to have different wheel options and I will be fitting brushless kit with a view to running 2s and 3s lipos. My options are: Hot Shot, Bigwig, Boomerang, Manta Ray and Dark Impact Is the Manta Ray any good? (the price seems quite cheap in comparison to the others). Is the Hot Shot worth the extra premium? Is the Bigwig as sturdy as it looks? Or... am I best off going for the boomerang as there seem to be more of them around, so parts would be readily available and cheaper? Or... should I go for the Dark Impact as it's newer and may handle the bashing better? So many questions... I hope you guys can help!

  7. As per title. I'm searching for the front bumper of the early Hot Shot. This bumper was thin and soft with 3 holes in the middle. Searching a new spare part for my shelf queen. Many thanks Max
  8. Hi, as per title, I'm searching for a Boomerang new in box, also 2008 re release. No speculators, no make an offer please, simply let me know your price. I'm located in Italy. Many thanks Max Up
  9. I am not putting this up for sale but an acquaintance of mine has a original body kit (not re-re) so i offered to check if there is an interest for this. It is the body, wing, decals and driver and body kit manual in the original body kit box. I do not have the number but it is the original (i'm sure because the decal sheet has the original sponsor decals on it). PM me if interested and i will forward your offer. Cheers, Dominique
  10. Hey fellas, here my dilemma, I'm restoring a vintage Hot Shot for my oldest son (Mac) for Christmas. I picked up 2 vintage Hot Shot beaters to make one complete car out of. My plan was to upgrade the cups and dog bones to the re re parts, but upon assembly yesterday the gearboxes don't wanna close. The case halves don't go together, there is a gap. So, my question is, do I need the re re gear cases to use with the re re cups? The e clips are thicker, so I'm assuming that's where the issue is. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
  11. My modified Hot Shot. Basically, the modification focuses on the steering system.
