  1. This little project has been going on for quite some time now but for some reason I haven't bothered to do a build thread. Well, I sort of did, I did my build threads as Project posts in the showroom. But I don't really like doing it that way, makes my showroom look cluttered If you want to catch up on the back-story, check these showroom entries: https://www.tamiyaclub.com/showroom_model.asp?cid=132669 https://www.tamiyaclub.com/showroom_model.asp?cid=133307 https://www.tamiyaclub.com/showroom_model.asp?cid=133308 And a few photos to get started:
  2. This is yet another old project from the back of the shelf. I probably started a build thread about this way back when but I expect all my photos were stored in the Bucket of Photos back before I threw my teddies out the pram over the Great Photobucket Ransom, so here it is afresh, courtesy of TCPhotos. This one isn't actually being built by me, it's being built by Adam and Nigel, who run a custom workshop called SCRAPSpeed. Since this one is from the archives, I'll start right at the beginning. It was back on 4th May 2014 - 6 years ago almost to the day, if you can believe that - when I popped over to see my friends Adam and Nigel at their workshop. I happened to notice that had a stripped out 9th gen F150 sitting on the shop floor. I asked if it was for a customer, but Adam shook his head and rolled his eyes at Nigel, who was fabricating something out of aluminium at the back of the shop. "He brought it back from the swap meet last week." He said. "We're going to lift the body and do a bit of off-roading." The shell looked like new, and was in a fresh coat of white primer. Underneath was a fairly standard chassis with some mild steering upgrades and the usual independent front, live rear that you find on these Fords. I took a look at the brackets that Nigel was fabricating. He told me they were so he could 4-link the rear end, apparently a better set-up than stock. I hung around while he got them fitted. I don't know much about these F150s but that sure looks better than what was on there before.
  3. Looking for these wheels or any chrome/aluminum 2.2 wheels. I already have the RPM wheels that are available in the internet Thanks
  4. Hi anybody got front and rear bumpers for a king blackfoot they would like to sell? let me know if you have anything cheers
  5. I am after a couple of new unbuilt king blackfoot kits. Happy to pay between £200 and £300 depending on condition of the box and top end would be for a sealed one with the light kits. This is what I have been paying recently so price seems fair. Much appreciated P
  6. Hi, this is my first post here. I just figured I'd share this with the world, since I haven't seen any of those mods anywhere else. If you're only interested in seeing what and how, feel free to skip the next lines and check out the links below (hope that's allowed?). A quick rundown on this trucks history. I got it as a birthday present when I was 14. It was a dream come true and was quickly tossed in the corner for the next 13 years or so to come. I finally dug it out several years ago to strip it of its body which I ran on a Savage 25 a couple of times. Not a good idea, so I put it back where I found it. Over the years I did spend at least some time with the Blackfoot, however, and every time I ended up somewhat disappointed with the driving experience. The suspension was too stiff, unwilling and generally awkward. The worst part to me has always been the steering and it always spoiled the fun with its wobbly behaviour and useless layout (no offence). Anyways... I recently found myself having a brushless Racestar motor/ESC combo and 9kg digital servo lying around - both new since I only ever ran them a couple of times on another RC. On top of that I also had 4 Savage X shocks left. Yesss, you read that right! So I decided to put all of it to good use and revive my very first RC car after its 18 year slumber. That said, I just couldn't leave the steering the way it was - I mean the inner tie rod ball-joint positions are just ridiculous! What were you thinking, Tamiya? (Haha still no offence). Now, long story short. I decided to rework the poor front suspension geometry and throw in all the goodies I mentioned above into the mix for good measure. This here is the result so far. I've got more mods lined up - but I'm not telling. The facia is missing because this way the truck looks freakin evil! You can check out some pictures of the mods under this link: https://goo.gl/photos/F2X7zgJy7UHNmhmC6 Here's a (very) short video of the steering setup: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B2PTnfTFsFQ Here's the first ever trial run - you are witnessing something here! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=leMEaFB_w5M I'm not going to bore everyone and their dog by listing everything I did and parts and electronics I used. Just ask if you want to know or see anything specific.
  7. http://jpegbay.com/gallery/006135883-.html#1 I'm "in search of (ISO)" two shoulder tapping screws as seen in the pix above. The KBF/SBF screw bag is Rare, but I'm hoping this screw is used in another more common Tamiya car... Can anyone point me to new screws??? Thanks, Terry
  8. Hi everyone, does anyone have any ideas about an alternate bumper for the King Blackfoot. I'm working on a project and need a bumper that sticks out a bit farther than the original. Something a bit more beefy too! I know that the King BF is pretty much on it's own as far as parts besides the chassis for interchangeability. Any help is awesome. Thanks!!
  9. Hi everyone, I'm working on a project right now with a king blackfoot chassis and I'm in need of rear body posts that can be mounted in the original position but are a lot taller. I'd like to just purchase something rather than fab something up....Any suggestions? Thanks!
  10. So I finally took some photos of some my collection. Here they are. Vintage frog in used condition...I havent touched it since I bought it off CL.

  14. Please check my Tamiyaclub trades for pictures. The spot lights are not included, lost them a while back. No electrics included. Has super plush oil shocks front and back and has rubber sealed bearings through-out. In pretty good condition but does have marks from wear and tare as this has been run. Comes with chassis bumper and an extra spare chrome bumper for body. LEDs fitted too. Has custom cad cut Ford decals. Also has custom metal plate fitted to the rear so body is protected if you wheelie it. £70
