  1. Hi, Been searching for the Tech Racing Aero parts for a while, decided to make them myself :-) Here's a start for the rear wing part 1 Version 1 Version 2 - adjustable rear wing
  2. which, if any, of the m kits can be set up short enough to fit a 190-200mm wheelbase body?
  3. I am on the lookout for a few small bits that make the world of difference on the M01 chassis. I need some C parts, namely #7,8,9 if you happen to have some, even used, I would like to hear from you. I am thinking that if they are cracked, I might hold them together with CA glue, so let's see what you have. Also in need of just the idler gear, the smallest one with a 5x8 bearing/bush in each side. I would like that gear to be as near new as I can get as single gears are not all that easy to get. I could just jump in and buy the whole gearbag from eBay UK, but I thought I would ask here first. I have a few bits I could trade with you all. Thanks, Chris

    M-01 Rebuild

When I was about thirteen I had three or four of these. All bought second hand from eBay for only a few pounds and all battered. I would then tart them up a little and proceed to batter them even more. I don't really remember if I sold them eventually or if they were beyond help and binned, but I moved on to different cars eventually. Anyway, seeing as my enthusiasm for r/c cars has returned I found myself on the lookout for another M-01. Wow, the prices have shot up in the last 18 years! Instead of the £20-25 I was paying back then for a complete car I was seeing the same battered examples selling for £75+. I kept an eye on eBay and eventually spotted a rolling chassis for a reasonable price. I stuck in a bid at the last minute and won it Yesterday, it arrived Here's the box art shot
  5. I try to race at one of the local clubs at least once a week, we don't have a club in the town where I live, but there are three or four within 30 miles radius. There's a bunch of four or five of us that usually descend on the chosen club of the evening, and we try not to cause too much trouble. However sometimes its just just much more fun to take something to race that's a little bit less serious than the latest 1/10 competition touring car, so we've started racing our older cars. It came about as we were reminiscing about the old cars that were still hanging around in the lofts and sheds. My first proper car was a TA01 tiger strip Escort Cosworth, and I still have it, sort of. It's a bit like triggers broom and only a handful of parts are original. It's still great fun to drive tho, and very forgiving. Thats mine on the left wearing the Cavalier body, and my mates TA02 wearing a Carson Astra body. They looks really good as they tussle, pitching violently into each corner. They are nowhere near as composed as a modern chassis, but much more forgiving. We are using old 27t stock motors as the track is quite small and has a ban on brushless to keep the speeds down. This isn't a bad thing per se, as it means the cars are having a relatively gentle time. More recently, I tried one of my FF01s there, it was great but the old plastic seems to be very brittle and I broke the front gearbox. It was good while I lasted tho. Ill get more pics when we try to take things less seriously. But we still end up having good racing.

    Great vintage collection, make offers
  7. For sale, my entire collection of M01 and M02 parts. I once gathered all this for a failed idea to go racing with an M01, and now it's been gathering dust. Not everything is in the best of shape, but there are a few new sprues, and two whole good long-wheelbase nose sections. What you get: - 2 almost-new long wheelbase nose sections - 2 complete D-parts - 1 C-parts without steering knuckle (part C5 is seperate, but present) - 3 x left and 3x right main chassis parts in good shape - 2 x gearbox halves left and right in poor shape - 1 steering link assembly - 6 battery stoppers - 3 battery 'wings' and some misc small bits like body posts and such I'd prefer not to split the set. If you want we can always negotiate about making a set of parts. Asking price for the whole thing: €40, ex. shipping from The Netherlands.
  8. Hi all, hoping to find some good condition to new parts for a pair of M-01 Mini Cooper's a friend has handed to me to fix. need parts A3 and A4, as well as B1 and B2, these are the rear suspension mount halves and front gearbox halves respectively. I'm hoping to find a pair of each with minimal scratches on the base to semi match the chassis they are being fitted to. I don't need any of the mounting hardware for the suspension arms or the body, but they do need to have the bumper mounts and steering lugs in very good to excellent condition. Also in need of a pair of D1 bumpers these again with minimal scratches please. The ultimate goal is to make a good runner for my friend to use, and a really good shelfer/light use car for display with a whole heap of other mini's they already have on display. PM me any pics of any matching parts you have in your spares boxes, along with an idea of cost to get these items shipped to christchurch NZ. I'll update this thread as I find parts I need, or obtain the parts I need. Cheers all. Update: Looking for a pair each of A3 and A4 parts for the mini (shelf and runner versions), along with 1 each of the B1 and B2 parts (runner version) A body set, prefer unpainted, but if the color matches what the owner is looking for it will be fine (for the shelf version) A pair of D1 bumper parts (shelf version) 2 sets of CV shafts ball diff for the runner, and maybe 1 more for the shelfer depends on costs, and possibly 2 more for my manta ray, current budget will most likely limit this tho. I now have 1 new ball diff sorted. I know I can get most of these items off of ebay, but where I can I'd prefer to buy from TC members. Thanks for looking all, much appreciated.
  9. Hi guys, So I'm a newbie here(Live in Victoria, Australia town called Traralgon) and just recently started getting back into RC. It's probably at least 15 years since I last mucked around with any. I was originally going to collect some of the toy grade cars from when I was a kid, Tyco Fast Traxx, Typhoon etc. But then I came across my old Tamiya cars a Stadium Thunder and my first ever Tamiya(and first hobbie grade) car a Mini Cooper Monte Carlo 58163, the Thunder is in good nic and came up like brand new after a clean, the Mini on the other had is going to need some work... THE PLAN -Dismantle and give everything a good clean -Source the missing bits(found some online but if anyone has bits for an M-01 chassis the want to sell let me know, I'll also put a list of wanted parts in the for sale section) -Replace all the bushing with bearings -Install a ESC(all the cars I've had have MSC) -At some point I'd like to get a new body shell and paint it up but Anyway here are some pics with all the parts I have... Any and all advice is welcome . Go easy on me I'm new . http://i.imgur.com/nqj38MI.jpg http://i.imgur.com/wl2D2kx.jpg http://i.imgur.com/7JuZJ24.jpg http://i.imgur.com/gmlA0r5.jpg
  10. Lining up ideas for a future project, I have an M01/02 'twini' hybrid with motors front and rear. I threw it together at the last minute for an open drifting event a few years back, and its performance was so dismal it got put on the shelf and never used again. Since I have a thing for Minis and I fancy the idea of making this old beast go as well as it looks, I thought I'd start by tentatively stretching the feelers for ideas on how to improve the performance of a M01 or M02 design. I like the idea of converting to conventional shocks, but without serious mods to the steering system (almost making an M01/M03 hybrid front-end) I can't see how to do it. I don't know if anybody else ever achieved it. I have been searching for M01 improvements and mods but my google-fu is weak Failing that, a strong anti rollbar might eliminate some of the awful body roll causing by the weight of two motors. I know this is never going to be a serious contender on any track but I like the idea of going as far as I can with something like this
