  1. Hi All, I am putting my Tamiya Porsche 935 Turbo Chassis and parts up for sale. I did have a wonderful ambition to tidy this up, get a body for it etc and then have a little photoshoot with it in the Karussell on the Nürburgring, but the reality of all my other ongoing projects has struck. Overall, the chassis is in good condition and complete as far as I can tell, aside from the Countach front bumper it wears, missing original rear wheels, and has an optional 540 size motor mount, ball bearings fitted front and rear. It comes with quite a few additional items including; - NIP kit parts bags (x5 with label, x2 without) - Motor/Axle Mounts - Not sure on the specifics of them, but one looks like the original 380 size motor mount, the other a 540 size motor mount. Potentially an option part or from another kit. - Original kit speed controller - 2x Switch Set (Variable Resistor Speed Controller) - Also the original box for one is included - Various spare chassis parts and screws - Instruction Manual (Poor condition) - Two original kit part boxes (Poor condition, but could't bring myself to bin them) - Tamiya Battery Pack - Tamiya Battery Chargers (x2) - Futaba 2-Channel Radio Set (TX, RX, & Servos) - Tamiya 540 Black Motor - 1981 Tamiya Radio Control Guidebook (Cover page has broken away, but in great condition otherwise) - A selection of rubber and foam tyre options - One original box is included also Overall it is quite a cool collection of parts and from what I can tell, it looks like the original owner raced it back in the day in Tokyo. I am putting a guide price of €400 (Plus Paypal fees & Postage) on this bundle based on what I can find across the internet currently, but am open to sensible offers. The worst I can say is no. I am not looking for trades, I have a Scorcher and Mountaineer among other larger projects that need my already limited time. If you have any questions, feel free to ask. Based in Germany, Shipping worldwide is possible at cost. Collection is possible in person (At the Nürburgring). Thanks Matt
  2. Finally finished the build. Really a great kit. I was trying to keep it in the box, (and it was in the box for over a year), but I just had to build it. Added the Sport tuned motor and Tamiya esc(changed the wires). Servo is cheap and basic but still a Futaba. I like to use known ,quality parts.Even if faster and stronger stuff is available from other makes.

Many thanks to a few people in the “what did I do today” group for help This build is low budget with no major hop-ups. Items include: TT-02 car kit bearings Subrau Brat tires 2 pairs of CVA dampers 18 pinion gear 35T Yeah Racing crawler motor Yeah Racing roof rack with LED 934 Porsche light bucket kit and LED kit Paint Hobbywing ESC Waterproof servo TT01 Truck foam bumper Edited: Cover photo updated

  6. So I'm new here, but not new to RC or Tamiya. I have only just joined Tamiya Club after lurking for years. And salivating over the fastest Tamiya list and all the build threads and information on here. I'd like to contribute knowledge and more builds for the site. I come from a long background of auto mechanics and electronic engineering. More of a Jack-of-all-trades, but specifically engineering, both mechanical and electronic, also fabrication and Physics. That's the most relevant experience in the RC hobby, so I'll stop with the background there, and if there is anything you want to know, feel free to ask in the thread or shoot me a PM. Onto the juicy bits. This build is almost complete, but being I only just joined the forum, I'll drip feed the pics and info starting at the beginning. As most of you already know how the TT02 is assembled, I'll leave most of the base assembly out of here and highlight certain things along the way. After previously building a TT02R, and wasting glorious money on it (not as crazy as some), then a budget TT02 build setup for rally, I decided to build a RWD TT02 chassis, mainly for drift, but also for hooning around from time to time. I built the TT02 knowing full well that there are way better choices for out of the box drifting out there. And sure I can toss a Tamiya body on it to make them look better. But what can I say, I absolutely love Tamiya, and I like a good challenge. Now that that is out of the way, Lets start at the beginning. I've been eyeing the 911 Carrera RSR body since buying my TT02R about a year ago. And I absolutely love building things from scratch and adding my own little twists to them. But I figured it'd be fun to build a TT02 that's as challenging to drive fast as a real Porsche from the same era, with way too much power LOL. I haven't driven a Porsche, or MR or RR in real life. Though I do drive an 89 Camaro and Gran Turismo nailed the handling on the Camaro. What I would do in game would translate to what the car would do in real life, so it's strikingly close. I've always joked that I learned how to drive by playing all the GT's profusely growing up and even now. So I know that most of the Porsches are a handful to drive, and that line is easy to cross. If you've driven a Porsche hard, you know exactly what line I mean. So why not scale it down and make it EVEN more difficult? Like I said, I like a challenge. So I bought the TT02 1992 Audi V8 kit, and the 1973 Carrera RSR body set. That's the rally build next to it on the work bench. The wonderful feeling of having a new kit in front of you and the giddy feeling you get when the hop-ups start arriving! 1992 Audi V8 TT02 kit - 58699A (Comes with THW 1060 Brushed ESC instead of TBLE-04S) 1973 Porsche Carrera RSR Body Set - 51543 Winter Evening TT02 bearing kit - Ebay Square TT02 Drift Steering - STD-217D Tamiya Mini CVA Shocks - 54753 (Came with the TT02R) Tamiya Adjustable Upper Arm Set - 54874 Tamiya Aluminum Motor Plate - 54558 (came in my TT02R kit) Tamiya Universal TG10 shafts - 54394 (Bought for the TT02R) Tamiya Universal Cup Joints - 54477 Tamiya Low Friction Suspension Balls - 54559 Tamiya TBLE-04S ESC - 45069 (Looking to replace or use a BEC) Ebay Sensored Brushless 13.5T Surpass Hobbies 16KG Servo - S1600BL 5mm Bullets for the motor wires Couple sensor cables of various lengths FGr4 V2 Rx for FlySky Noble NB4 TX - FGr4 SkyRC Gyro - GC301 Power Hobbies Blue 25T Servo Horn Chronologically this is my third TT02 build. The TT02R was first, and the budget rally build was second. So two more TT02 build threads to come. -RC Perspective
  7. Hi guys, its been over 25 years that i made my last Tamiya kit ( yes im getting old! ) As i watch a lot of random youtube clips i stumpled on the clip from Tamiya Legends on his Cobalt Green GT2, and after that i knew i needed to do something similair., the pics of the KUHFARBEN ones and the topic of GermanTA03GUY didnt do any good either i just needed to have a go at this myself after all of those years.. IMHO 993 GT2 is one of the sexiest models Tamiya has ever made.. I started looking around for a complete Tamiya Porsche GT2 kit or body... complete was not easy and i found a unpainted gt2 body from Tamiya from a guy from Germany, bought it.. but still havent recieved it as its M.I.A ( big thx for the fkcup @ DHL ) In the mean time i had bought a Pandora chassis display as i dont have the intention on driving it anyways , just fiddling around with it, painting it... doing some mods on it.. etc... Bought some DS racing DE 5 spoke wheels with the adjustable offsets in gumetal... as i was and still am waiting for the body to show up.. i kept on buying some stuff like.. tamiya cockpit.. styrene stuff for the rollcage, 3dwrapup for the lights, tamiya light kit etc etc etc.. But still no body.... so bought from the same guy a NIB TA02SW GT2 complete kit... asked him to send this one with another shippingcompany and while im still waiting on that to arrive uhmm i literally just bought another NIB complete GT2 kit.. Ordered some different wheels for that one... paint , mods , parts etc all is on its way and ill make a build topic on this here.. Ill start this one of with just 2 simple pics of the pandora display chassis, very simple concept.. will take any 1/10 body, you can change width, length, wheelbase etc etc... quickly mounted my first set of DS Racing gunmetal wheels. A lot more to come very soon!!!! and while it wont be anything new ill try to document this bodybuild for the people who are interested, The GT2 will be a hybrid RWB / trackday kinda style GT2.... For now im just waiting on parts Cya soon!!
  8. Is there a 911 bodyshell that a) fits a TT02 shell wheelbase and b) is readily available as a body set.
  9. This is a follow up to two great Mf-01x 911 projects. The first by Juls1 and the second by OldSchoolRC1. If you haven't seen their threads yet and want detailed info on converting a mini size Mf-01x to a TT-01 size short wheelbase you should take a look. Many of the drive train and suspension mods I had in mind before I started building but their excellent builds are a proof of concept and worth a peek. The only thing that really bugged me about Tamiya's excellent 2.7 RSR where the wheels. While they look great for a modern Fuch wheel, they are too low profile to look period correct. I made my own Fuch wheels that had a black ring on the rim to simulate a high profile tire from the 70's. Its a solution similar to what Tamiya did on the F104 F1 wheels. The TL-01 long span suspension was for the most part, a direct fit but I had to make rear upright extensions, and front & rear shock mounts similar to OldSchoolRC1's car.
  10. Well, been a while since I last posted... I'm taking the plunge, decided on building up a Porsche 959 based on the new MF-01X chassis set at 210mm. Ordered the following - 1/12 TGB P type 959 body - TGB P Type 959 wing - TGB P Type 959 interior - ******* 959 sticker set Need to buy - Jimny MF-01X - Options… :-) - RC Rally Raiders 959 1/10 wheels Looking for some insight on locating some 959 drivers heads. Anybody have any used bits they can part with? Don't fancy sporting for eBay units and can also craft my own. Interesting possibilities are Knight Customs SRB 3D printed head, helmet and visor. Just 1/10 scale and wondering if they could be scaled down? I do have several kits of the Toyota 4WD driver and could use the head only version, create a helmet and make a visor. Any other suggestions? TIA. Cheers, Thompson
  11. Hey all, I have a TT02 Carrere RSR and found when I buy tires for it they are tucked too far inside the wheel wells. I’ve gone to zero offset at the front and 3mm at the rear wish still isn’t enough. I’m thinking 3mm in the front and 6mm in the rear? Has anyone tried this or have suggestions for different rims/tire combination that look a bit more realistic?
  12. Hi I’m about to start build a TT-02 based Porsche 911 RSR but I’m not sure on the; wheelbase, ride-hight and tread setting. I think it should be: Wheelbase = Short Ride-hight = Standard Tread = Standard If you built one or know the chassis configuration could you let me know if I have this correct. Thanks.
  13. I have a 911 RSR arriving in the next few days. My plan is to not do it as per the box art, but go for this colour scheme I've seen on the Singer website: As such, I'm looking for some basic decals with "Porsche" in orange etc on them. Can anyone point me in the direction of where I might be able to buy these?
  14. This is a project I've had in mind for a long time... Juls1 beat me to it - Great build! I agree 100%, I built my first MF as an offroad truck, but it was just too small. I ended up selling it, regretting it, and bought another to convert into a Porsche of some sort. To that end, I had bought an MF01 a while ago for this exact purpose, but quite honestly once I built it up stock-ish and took it for a test drive, I loved it.. So I used the parts I bought, picked up a few more and built up both a MF01 and TL01LA (of sorts) - they came out great! I didn't have the heart to tear them down, and this project has been in my head forever so I sold off an M06 I had and bought another MF01 kit. I picked up another Beetle Rally version and a few hop ups. I had the Porsche body laying around from my previous attempt. My shelf queen TL01LA was torn down to donate parts for this project. I'm not sure if all the suspension bits will work or not due to the quirks of the MF chassis, but we'll give it a go anyway. Plus a box of goodies from my previous MF project. Can never have enough parts when mixing and matching kits. Love it when the workbench is filled with parts trees, manuals, and tools. Going to be a good day!
  15. After a year long hiatus, I’m back! The weather has turned, and with warm weather, the RC bug bites. I have been really enjoying my first rally car, a TT02 Datsun 240z. The build thread is on here somewhere. Some pics. http:// http:// http:// http:// http:// I am now going to try and build a Porsche 911 rally on a TT02 chassis. I love the versatility of the rally chassis, and my Datsun is a blast to drive. Can’t wait to get started.
  16. I have but one requirement on all of my cars. The motor should sit in the same approximate place as the real car. So here we go. I like the Porsche 911, for me the styling is hit or miss. Early 911s are beautiful, 935s are beautiful, 993s are beautiful, and I really like the 991. Part of its beauty is that it is an oddball. Mid-engine has had a clear advantage for the ultimate in performance since its debut. So undeniable is this fact that for the first time the 911 RSR will now feature a midship layout. Not like the 1990s 911 GT1, which is essentially a group C car with 911 windows and lights, of which less than 50 were ever built. How could I possibly not make my 993 rear engine when Tamiya makes it easy? I excitedly built the gearbox section without even taking a photo. It's all standard fare, plus bearings of course. Here it is before joining the section to the main chassis: More to come!
  17. Hi, I have an original #58001 Porsche 934 Turbo RSR for sale. It was built in 1984 and never run. Very complete and original. Tires are still in great condition too. Includes original box. Fantastic car, and I would love to keep it, but I need $ for other projects. $650 Located in Alameda, CA 94501.
  18. Hi folks, A few years back I posted a few photos here on the forum about my rather sad original #58001 Porsche: https://www.tamiyaclub.com/forum/index.php?/topic/52184-is-this-a-58001-porsche I never got around to doing anything with it since then (my focus is offroad RC) so I've listed it on starting at a dollar: http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Vintage-original-58001-Tamiya-Porsche-Turbo-RSR-934-RC-car-DOLLAR-START-/122706228385 or search for "Vintage original 58001 Tamiya Porsche Turbo RSR 934 RC car DOLLAR START" eBay item# 122706228385 I'm in Australia, but happy to ship to many countries in the world. Thanks for looking, Steve (1944GPW)
  19. Hey there! Recently found an old Porsche 935 turbo r/c model still new in it's box. The box it's self is kinda beat up but everything inside is still in its packaging and untouched! I did some research on it and know it's a rare and valuable model, because of that I would rather sell it to some one who would really want it for their collection. I'm located in Boston, MA Link to a gallery for more pictures: https://goo.gl/photos/8acaVGkzTrpheocx9 You can make an offer for it here or private message me. Model has been put up for sale on Ebay! If there's anyone interested in it you can check it out here. >> http://www.ebay.com/itm/Tamiya-Martini-Porsche-935-turbo-58002-/112473651042?hash=item1a2ff3b762:g:lvYAAOSwvPRZYBdL

  21. Hi, I'm in the process of rebuilding an old 959 that was in a really bad condition, with lots of broken parts. Over the last few months, I found almost evething needed but now the only parts missing are the R1 and R2 rear hubs. Mine are just too damaged to do anything. Does somebody have some spare to sell or a clue on where I could find them? Thanks.
  22. Reluctantly I am putting up for sale my gorgeous Porsche 911 GT1, which has been hopped up beyond TRF spec with almost every single TA03 Hop Up imaginable including some nice rare official Tamiya hex head hardware too. It has never been ran in its current state with the only used parts being the Eurethane front bumper, some hop ups (that have been cleaned up) and some plastic parts. Most of the plastics are the rare black type with only a few small parts using the original grey ones. The body is new built and never ran, it was cut, painted and decalled by myself to a pretty good standard (as can be seen by the pictures). What you see is what you get and I will list below the extensive hop ups that have been used, some of which are ultra rare to find these days. So what you get ........ is a TA03R-S chassis that has had the following fitted, 53387 - TA03R-S FRP Chassis Conversion (part J5 has been replaced with some alloys spacers) 53386 - TA03R-S Carbon Chassis Plates. 53267 - TA03 Ball Diff (fitted to the rear) 53200 - 4WD Front One Way Diff (fitted to the front) 53326 - TA03 Alluminium Steering Set 53274 - TA03 Aluminium Counter Shaft 53200 - TA03 Universal Swing Shafts (Blue) 49091 - TA03 Lightweight Drive Shafts Purple (fitted to the rear) 53279 - TA03 Torque Splitter Unit 53261 - TA03F Pro Carbon Battery Plate Set 53276 - TA03 Fluorescent Colour Stabilizer Set 53163 - On Road Spring Set 53333 - Touring Car Tuned Spring Set (short type) 53337 - TA03 Reinforced Damper Stay (low mount type) x2 49093 - Aluminium Servo Stay (purple) 53275 - TA03 Aluminium Motor Heat Sink 53288 - TA03 Aluminium Rear Uprights 53316 - TA03 Aluminium Hub Carriers 53293 - Reinforced Slicks Type A x2 53571 - TRF Flourine Coated Dampers (1 has a slight mark on the top cap) 53291 - TA03 15T Aluminium Pulley x2 TA03 Pro 0.4 Module Gear set I have used alot of 3 Racing Purple Hardware on the build too. New built Tamiya Porsche 911 GT1 bodyset, with wheels and inserts I am sure I have missed out a few items, also comes fitted with full bearings, Almost complete spare decal set for the 911 GT1, Full spare plastic parts for the 911 GT1, original kit box, scanned manual (sorry I don't have the original manual) and a few other spare parts that I have for the chassis. Also included are most of the Hop Up labels/packaging that I have kept over the years of collecting the parts to build this. Any questions at all, please feel free to ask. Also any other pictures wanted, again please ask. I would like to see it go to a good home and not someone who is going to sell it on preferably. UK buyer preferred, but may post overseas at cost (the box will be quite heavy) and double boxed packaging Looking for £160 (includes UK postage). Many thanks James

  25. Here's a little treat. Decided to tackle the 1977 Tour de France rallye, Eminence livery, Almeras-Fres Porsche 934 turbo. As an Art Director, I spend most of my day designing magazine and catalogues. At night, totally enjoy designing one-off Tamiya Porsche 911 sticker sets with as much realism I can. The Tamiya Porsche 934 turbo GT-01 is a great little base, the body is so detailed. With limited mods though, you have to think out of the box. Inspired by another TC'er I've bought some of the Kawada rims and some Tamiya upgrades. The photo that inspired my crazy path for this build. Based on other TC users speediness, I seem to be on the snail schedule for completing projects. Happy to report, this project has already passed up my 959 project! Research mode on, more photos...
