  1. I have been on a journey to recreate a Ta03R TRF. I've gathered up most of the parts, but am still looking for a couple At this point, I'm still trying to find some of the pieces. if anyone has some spares, I am more then happy to buy them and put them into a new home At this point, I'm looking for the hubs, 1 set of universals, the steering arms, 6 m3x18mm turnbuckles, knuckles, the aramid belt.... and a tensioner pulley lol. I'll be putting up pics in a bit,
  2. *apologies to NJ’s second favourite son JBJ for the title* But man was I Livin’ on a Prayer hoping to find anything in stock in these difficult times, seems like any Tamiya kit is Wanted Dead or Alive. But when hope was lost I Kept the Faith and Fusion restarted their webshop coming though with the Aqroshot like a Blaze of Glory. Selling the Top Force was Bad Medicine but getting this basher is sweeter than a Bed Of Roses. I Regret Nothing.
  3. Tamiya ***ULTIMATE TRF TOOL BUNDLE*** All Included. All BRAND NEW & UNOPENED Also available - Tamiya TRF419XR - 42316 **ULTIMATE BUNDLE** See my other listings for this, plus a load of brand new, unused and very high end equipment up for sale. Why I’m selling: Returning to a 90 hour a week job has left me with no time, so I’m selling an extensive and, in some cases, extremely rare, collection of tools that took a year to source. Some had to be shipped to other countries prior to the UK to enable purchase. As such, what you see took hours of obsessive work to collect. Although anyone can buy and use, the collection is primarily for a Tamiya collector or someone looking for a complete collection. Knowing how hard it was to gather this collection reassures me that any value lies in keeping it complete. As such, to split the bundle will damage it’s value, for me and anyone buying it, so I’m sorry to say, I will not be willing to do so. Anyway, here’s what’s included: Tamiya: 42149 - 7mm Box Wrench 42148 - 5.5mm Box Wrench 42147 - 2.5mm Hex Wrench Screwdriver 42146 - 2mm Hex Wrench Screwdriver 42145 - 1.5mm Hex Wrench Screwdriver 42150 - Ballpoint Hex Wrench Screwdriver 42161 - (-) M Screwdriver 53649 - (+) L Screwdriver 53648 - (+) M screwdriver 42186 - Wrench for 5mm Reinforced Adjusters 42260 - Body Reamer 42276 - Damper Pliers 42122 - Wrench for Blue Titanium Turnbuckle Shaft 42236 - Wrench for Aluminium Turnbuckles 54635 - Aluminium Canberra Gauge Post 42255 - Droop Gauge 42256 - Droop Gauge Block 42199 - Ground Clearance Gauge 53862 - Touring Car Height & Droop Gauge 53861 - Camber Gauge 42241 - Pinion Gear Holder (12) 42371 - R/C car Maintenance Stand (Tamiya Blue) 42335 - Aluminium TRF Tool Stand (got to have somewhere to put this lot) 42292 - Aluminium Parts Tray 42302 - TRF parts Storage Box x3 (8 compartments per case)
  4. All BRAND NEW & UNOPENED. Why I’m selling: Returning to a 90 hour a week job has left me with no time, so I’m selling my TRF419XR as well an extensive and, in some cases, extremely rare, collection of upgrades that took months to source. What you see includes some almost unavailable and therefore very rare items that took hours of obsessive work to collect. Knowing how hard it was to gather this collection means it’s for someone who wants all options available for the amazing TRF419XR, so I’m sorry to say, I will not be willing to split it. I wish to return around 80% of what it all cost me, so any purchaser is not only benefiting a reduction in retail price, but also from the reduced purchase hose prices from buying abroad, which I had to do to finish this collection but from the hours and hours it took to gather everything. Moving on: The main upgrade included in the bundle is the TRF420 Suspension upgrade. To prove how extensive the bundle is, it also comes with the rear Toe Control Rear Suspension Set for the TRF420. Also included is the correct 3mm TRF drill bit to ream out the arms, and I even managed to find the unique carbon fibre alternative arm connectors that are only available with the actual TRF420 kit! That wasn’t easy. Before we get to the collection: I’m also selling a complete (and I mean complete) TRF Tool Set to go with it, as well as some top line professional equipment, please see my other listings for full details. However, to wet your appetite, here’s a few of them so you get the idea as to the level of what else is for sale: **THE FOLLOWING ITEMS ARE NOT INCLUDED IN THIS BUNDLE BUT AVAILABLE SEPARATELY. HOWEVER, THEY WERE BOUGHT TO GO WITH THIS KIT SO I WILL DISCOUNT ANYTHING BELOW BY 20% IF BOUGHT BY WHOEVER BUYS THIS BUNDLE** - A Complete Tamiya TRF tool set - - Futaba T7XC Transmitter - - Futaba HPS-CB700 Brushless Servo - - Team Orion Vortex R10.1Brushless ESC - - Team Orion Vortex DSB-R Program Box - - SkyRC T200 Duo AC/DC 12A Charger - - Intellect LiPo LiHV 2S 1000mAh 7.6v Batteries (2 available) - - TRF Trolly Bag - + more..... ** THE ABOVE ITEMS ARE AVAILABLE SEPARATELY. ** I WILL DISCOUNT ANYTHING ABOVE BY 20% IF BOUGHT BY WHOEVER BUYS THIS BUNDLE** (Please see my other listings for full details) AGAIN THESE ITEMS ARE NOT INCLUDED IN THIS BUNDLE Finally, here’s the list of what’s included in this rather unique bundle: **TO BE CLEAR, THE FOLLOWING IS EXACTLY WHAT’S INCLUDED IN THIS BUNDLE: TAMIYA: - 42316 - TRF419XR Racing Chassis - 54886 - TRF420 Suspension Upgrade Set - 54887 - TRF420 Toe Control Rear Suspension Set - 1980322 - (unique) Carbon Fibre Arm Connectors - 42303 - TRF 3mm Straight Reamer - 54413 - Aluminium High-Efficiency Roll Damper - 42325 - Aluminium Gear Differential Case - 42310 - 37T Aluminium Differential Pulley - 42309 - 37T Aluminium One-Way Pulley - 3454938 - Drive Pulley Assy (Blue) - 3454936 - Main T-Pulley (Blue) - 53906 - 5x5mm Alumium Hex Head Ball Connectors X2 - 53907 - 5x8mm Aluminium Hex Head Ball Connectors X3 - 54648 - Flurine Coated Stabilizer Ball Connector Set - 42327 - 5x 3x6mm Hi-Grade Aluminium Hex Head Screws (Blue) X5 - NAR-306TB - 3x 3x6mm Hi-Grade Aluminium Hex Head Screws (blue) (by SQUARE) X3 - 42329 - 5x 2x8mm Hi-Grade Aluminium Hex Head Screws (Blue) X3 - 42330 - 5x 3x8mm Hi Grade Alu C/Sunk Hex Head Screws (Blue) X3 - 42328 - 5x 3x6mm Hi Grade Alu C/sunk Hex Head Screws (Blue) X3 - 53773 - 5x 3x10mm C/sunk Hex Head Screw (Blue) X1 Moody Fools: - 1509786741 - 6x 3x8mm C/sunk TITANIUM Hex Head Screws - 1509786741 - 38x 3x6mm C/sunk TITANIUM Hex Head screws Back to Tamiya: - 53646 - Wheel Spacer (Blue) X3 - 54863 - Aluminium Hi-Torque Servo Saver Cap (Blue) - 42248 - Aluminium Direct Servo Horn (Tamiya/Futaba) (Blue) - 54862 - 4x Aluminium Servo Screws (Blue) - 42224 - 04 Module Hard Coated Alu Pinion Gear (25T) - 42229 - 04 Module Hard Coated Alu Pinion Gear (30T) - 42269 - 04 Module Hard Coated Alu Pinion Gear (39T) - 42201 - Glass Tape (15mm x 50m) (Blue) 3RACING: - M04M-07/LB Aluminium Motor Heatsink With Cooling Fan (Blue) TOTAL COST TO ME £ 1,420.00 The following items are FREE: - 42250 - Maintenance Mat (1250x600mm) Black with TRF logo (opened to be used in my photos, but unused otherwise. - DTDR01001B - Hobbt Details Aluminum Magnetic Body Mount Set for 1/10 Drifting Cars Set A Type Black DTDR01001 Aluminium (Blue) - Aluminium Adjustable Magnetic head for Body Mount (Blue) - Velcro in Blue to match Tamiya Blue - Zip Ties in Blue to match Tamiya Blue - A4 Carbon Fibre Self Adhesive Sticker Sheet (it is in the image, but hidden under all the parts in the top right of the image) The FREE items cost me around £50 Dispatched with Hermes Tracked.

  12. Hi all, I'm looking for damper suggestions for my DT-03 Racing Fighter build. The Racing Fighter kit I have came with the CVA dampers and I also have the Tamiya Spring Set Hop-Up option #53832. However, I'd like to upgrade the plastic CVAs with alloy dampers instead. I tend to prefer using genuine Tamiya hop-up options (or TRF if budget allows) however I haven't found any direct replacements for the CVAs that came with this kit. As such, I've been looking at either going with a set of GPM dampers or a set from Yeah Racing. But before I pull the trigger on either of those, I wanted to ask here if anyone here has any suggestions for dampers. Thanks in advance for any help. Cheers!
  13. Hi, I am looking for some advice on the best Tamiya chassis to look to obtain for racing on tarmac. I have been around RC for a while, however only been running brushed(sport tuned) and Nimh. Have a Stadium Thunder and a Blitzer Beetle both modded. So there is an RC club near my house I found the other day, track is open for the public.I have not had a chance yet to go on a race night to see what the members are running there, they have a 21.5T,13.5T & Euro truck classes. I am looking for some advice on a chassis to firstly get me into tarmac track as I have been only dirt bashing and crawling & secondly, what hop-ups, motors, esc`s, batteries should I be looking for to be competitive, apologies for all the newb questions. Have attached a pic of the track I would be racing\learning at, look forward to your input.
  14. Hi all, Back in the day I remember Tamiya always having a flagship 4x4 buggy. Over the years which has been the top Tamiya 4x4? Hot Shot 1985 Egress 1987 Avante 1988 Top-Force 1991 Top-Force Evolution TRF503 2014 TT-02B MS 2015 DB01RRR

  18. Hi, I’m wondering if someone can explain what are the main differences between the TRF201XM and TRF211XM please. I know the TRF201XM has the aluminium chassis while the TRF211XM has the FRP chassis. Am I also right in assuming that the aluminium racing steering set 42258, the aluminium rear uprights (54245 and 54246) and various other hop ups for TRF201 can also be used on the 211XM? Many thanks Justin

  22. Hi everyone, I've been stalking this forum for about a year and been really grateful to everyone for the accrued wisdom that I've been able to tap into to help me build my Avante shelfer (first RC car I've owned since 1993!). I wanted to ask for some help /inspiration for the next phase of my project. As this is fo the shelf, it's mainly cosmetic, so might not interest everyone, but, here goes … I've built my Avante box art, and I also have Black special shell and wheel tyre set to give it an alternate look when I feel like it. Just a visual flip, not all the mechanical changes. I thought I could use one more change of style to give me some options, and I went searching for nice custom Avantes online. I think the price point means not too many people have gone far from box art with these, but I did find some interesting things. I was especially taken with @neobrunox 1/10 Azente, based on the special edition Mini 4WD variants: https://www.tamiyaclub.com/showroom_model.asp?cid=117752&id=24357 . As you probably know, the 1/10 black special is also based on a Mini 4WD, which has me excited as I got interested in RC as a child having been weened on Mini 4WD. So, I wondered if I could do another Avante variant that stemmed from a Mini 4wd. The idea I've settled on is to do something based on one of the styles in the Avante Mini 4wd Dress-up Sticker Set (I'm thinking the pin stripe one): and here, alongside someone's nice Azente: So here' say vision for the car, and I wondered if anyone woud like to add any imaginative suggestions or give me some advice? VISION: Both the Azente AND this dress-up sticker set mention "TXR", which is spelled out in very small letters as "Tamiya Experimental Racer". I understand that the 1/10 Avante was the first effort by the tema that became "Tamiya Racing Factory", so I'm going to imagine that TXR is an early interpretation of TRF. The colour scheme here is also reminiscent of the white/cyan/blue/pink used in later TRF models. So I thought I would style my car with these things in mind, though I'm on the fence about using much pink. I'm seeing this car as like a development version of the finished Avante, before everything was finalised, but also aiming for a race spec, rather than the 'retail spec' of the finished machine. ARTWORK: I plan to draw the graphics myself and get them printed at MCI. Anyone have any experience of MCI custom decals? Anything I should watch out for, or any recommendations for another supplier? SPONSORS: For the most part, I'll scale up the Mini 4wd stickers, but I'll try to add in a few more details and small stickers, the same as how the original Avante and Avante BS decals are not simply scaled up versions of the Mini 4WD version. If anyone could suggest some additional sponsors or details that might add some flavour of Tamiya's experimental racing division c 1988, I'd be delighted! DRIVER: Well, Paranoid Perry I guess, but open to other ideas? I found this fun article the other day which suggests maybe one of the other Tamiya drivers. This is really just silly fan fiction, but i guess that's the realm I've descended to with this project! Here's the quote: "First, be aware that I was the one chosen for this project among almost one hundred drivers. Among them, the promising Albert Attaboy who remained stuck in Baja Buggy races, Evert Edwards who had relatives working at Tamiya and who couldn't get more than the Vanquish. Even Greg Martin, who was popular thanks to the Hornet, was in the list. The most pathetic of all was undoubtely Ricky Roop." COLOURED BITS: TRF stuff tends to have some anodised cyan/blue elements. Anyone recommend some avant compliant shocks I could try out in this colour? Or any other metal parts? WHEELS: In keeping with most TRF creations, probably white wheels, but I'm after something that might have felt experimental in '88 Or could have been donated from another car at the time, as part of the development process? Perhaps some white Thunder Shot rims? Like on the Terra Scorcher? Anything more interesting out there? TYRES: I fancied doing something a bit crazy, like some slicks? If not that, perhaps some more modern looking buggy tyres, to suggest the car was ahead of its time, but that ultimately Tamiya went with the more conventional option in the release product? (sorry, in fan fiction territory again!) REAR WING and OTHER AERO BITS: I was toying with the idea of a wing fro another car. I've not seen other wings that I think really look good on other custom Avantes (you often see an astute or Egress wing, I think). I was thinking maybe something more out there like a terra scorcher wing? Other thoughts? I hope some of you find this interesting and might be willing to chip in. Once I've got started properly, I'll try tout a build thread together. Appreciate your help!
  23. Hi, I recently bought a TRF801Xt in near new condition with an electric conversion set. These machines were designed and built in the USA by Tamiya USA in an attempt to enter the highly popular 1:8 truggy market and racing scene in the States. Here in Europe however, it didn’t catch on and maybe wasn’t even ever released officially. Anyhow, I got one and it’s huuuuugggeee! Haven’t run it yet, still waiting for the ESC and motor, but in anticipation on those parts I began a hunt for spare parts. Tamico do have some official replacement parts on stock, but that’s about the only supplier in the EU it seems... However, because the design is very much based on other existing, sometimes very succesful truggy designs there may be the possibility of interchangeable parts amongst types and/or brands. I already found some tips online; - The arms are of the same dimensions as the Xray XT8 arms. The hubs will not fit however, so you need those as well. The Xray arms work with the standard CVA driveshafts apparently. The Xray arms are much more durable. - With the Xray XT8 arms you can use the Kyosho ST-RR hubs apparently. - The shock bladders are leaky and not up to the task. The Losi LOSA5430 bladders are a 1:1 fit and are far better. - The shockboots from Losi also seem to fit. No part nr known to me. I’m still looking for some other interchangeable parts, like: - spur gear (center diff gear) - shockshaft o-rings (3,5 mm?) - bodies - skid plates - shocks in general There are so many truggies out there that SEEM almost exactly the same, so there MUST be some interchangeability amongst them. Who can help make this thread a go-to place for every TRF801X(t) enthousiast who’s looking for a reasonably priced way to keep their truggy running?
  24. As the weather is not great means I cannot get any work done on any of my real car projects I decided to take my NIB TRF 801X out of the storage. First glance there are so many parts more so compared to my 1/8 TXG MKI kit I built some 18 years ago. Will post pictures of the build process. I have seen some others build thread and they take huge anount of pictures for every little step I will try and keep it to the point
  25. That's what Fred Medel - the marketing manager for Tamiya America has to say. Read more here.
