Chris,

I found this problem when I've sent several emails to different members about items they had for sale/trade: when I got their replies I wasn't able to understand who they were, because replies did not carry member names.

Hey Roby

I found this too, but the main problem is that their reply doesn't contain a copy of your original mail at the bottom of the reply.

When you mail a member, you do it thru the club, but when they reply, they do it thru their email software, which won't contain a TC username unless they tell it to.

If the mail app is set up on their machine to include original mail, it's not too big a problem.

Sorry not much I can do about this, as Twinset points out, what is included in the reply is down to the sender of the reply and the way he has his email set up.

It probably wouldn't take much longer for the replier to sign their name and username, I usually do it as my mail is either set up as Andy or A. Moore depending on where I reply from.

It gets even worse when you sell something on ebay to a club member whose username and ebay name are different too (like mine[:I]) you dunno who you're talking to then!

Hi all,

I guess I received enquiries where at least the username was included in the header, but recently I also received mail w/o user-id. Does that really depend on the settings? If so, then what problems do one have to point to his TC-ID? Anyone who has serious intentions should not have any objections about this.

Regards, Martin

I'm not 100% sure, but I think if you get mail from a non-club member you don't get any ID, as they don't have one.

I just sent myself a couple of tests;

mail.jpg

One was sent thru showroom front page, the other was sent as 'feedback' on my rough rider, and the RR one contains;

quote:
model #58015 - Rough Rider - Got this on 'Buy It Now' for $1000...

from showroom

id="quote">id="quote">

The "from showroom" is my typing, but the "#58015..." bit was system generated.

I also sent one from the forum;

mail2.jpg

And that shows ID too.
