Looking like a won't get my dad's signature, he's been getting more frail as the days have rolled by, and is now End of life care.

I asked him if it would be okay to draw around his hand, so i can give him a high five, and he gave a big smile.

Managed not to knock too much stuff over in the care home 🫣, but ...👍

Blue is his favourite colour, and so got his approval on choice of paint too.

I'll add my projects into the mix.

My pride and joy, a Mercedes 190E 2.5-16 "Cosworth" that I bought a couple of years back. She needed massively de-chavving (un-riced, anti-bogan'd, dis-ruined, basically), as she had stickers, fake carbon strips, an AMG badge, modern wheels, interior damage from fitting speakers, the wrong grill, wrong indicators, rear bumper damage, side skirt damage, horrible exhaust and she was so low that the suspension mounts were hitting the ground!

Before:

Now:

As of last year, I've started displaying her at classic car shows. Really enjoy it!

Still work to do and funds are limited, but she'll get there!

Now running a stainless exhaust system from Stainless Creations (Falkirk) and Green performance air filter. She sounds immense! :D

Only heard (🙄) good things about them!! I know a few who've been there.

I've got a full 2.5" X pipe system from Magnaflow,

Not sure how quiet it'll be though...

Did buy some DB7 Vantage exhaust tips

But not sure what they'll do on the noise front...

Loom done for the tail lights.😁

-LED Reverse light /fog light dual bulbs

-LED Stop / Tail bulbs

- LED Stop / Indicator switchbacks, with a 5 pin relay, allowing to run through a voltage regulator (when zero volts from the braking circuit) to give Tail/Stop/Indicator out of the same bulb.

- Sequential LED controller (capacitor hold on relay circuit), to give Sequential turn signals (which can be changed to different speeds, and different modes/sequence. Going to run the change button to the centre console, for 'show use only'...🙄

Looking good!

Completely forgot this was on!! 🤦‍♂️

Been a good while since I've posted on here...

The capacitor discharge/hold on unit I built, the stripboard I used, one of the tracks has come apart, and lifted off the fibreglass/board, so going to have to redo it.

20250720_125446

I had trouble when soldering, tried various soldering irons, lead free solder, 60/40 solder and still rough as, had to run wire down the lengths, as it was lifting the track...😳

Any electronic guys on here, recommend a good stripboard ?

(Or if you've access to making a printed circuit board?...🙄🤞)

Just the last piece, before I can button it up.

Also, been up and down the road a fair bit the past few months, and now at least the exhaust is all in the same country!! 😁

Anyone had a chance over the last few months to get anything done on their project?

Found what looked to be a thicker and better quality stripboard on ebay. Cost the same for 1 as it did 5 of the others, but I just need 1 decent one, and buying 5 of the others turned out to be a waste of money...😔

The terminal block doesn't clip together though, as the pins are a little further apart, don't think it'll be an issue..

Postman also delivered the bearing rebuild kit. Rockauto have an unbelievable delivery time, ordered and arrives within 2 days , all.duties paid etc, can't argue with that (although giving me an Audi TT fridge magnet, really?...🤦‍♂️🤣)

20250731_140317

Also found a new pin and bolt in the box with the Diff..

Maybe because someone has damaged the carrier! 🤦‍♂️

20250730_225420

But machined the other side...

Hopefully get this nailed in before the weather turns, and I go back to not feeling my fingers in the garage.🥶
