I run a Hobbywing 10BL60 ESC and a 13.5 Bluebottle on my DF-01. Never had issues with this setup so far but today, after turning on the car, I've noticed that when the throttle is in neutral the ESC's lights start blinking, both of them the green and the red. Now, I know it's this time of the year, but I've no interest in having an ESC mimicking my xmas three! Lol

The only mention of this I could find anywhere is in the ESC's manual itself, which states that both lights will go on if the set button is pushed long enough for it to go back to factory settings. Which it actually did, since I can tell that my parameters were resetted to standard.

If that was the case, switching off the esc should finalize the the operation, but when I turn the car back on it's the same xmas lights all over again. One thing to note, this only happens after I pull the throttle and spin the motor a little. When I turn it on, it stays idle with no lights blinking until the motor is moved, which makes me thing it could be some indication that there's something wrong with the motor, like a damaged connection or maybe the sensor cable? I did find a weakening spot that I will re solder right now, but I wanted to see if anybody had idea of what's going on...

Thanks folks for any help✌

Usually, it's when you have zero timing set on the motor and known is "blinky".

It's for when you have ,blinky, racing, and no dynamic motor timing is allowed, so a scrutineer can quickly and easily see if there's anyone cheating.

Try programming in some timing, and see if it stops.

Thank you.

Tried the timing and did reprogram all the settings. I also re soldered all the connection. No luck yet  the car works but the esc keeps blinking. It retains my programmed settings for a fee attempts and then randomly goes back to factory settings. I really wonder what this could be.

@Wooders28 Yep. And now the mystery thickens: if I unplug the sensor cable, everything works well and the lights do not blink when in neutral. Thought it'd be a damaged sensor cable, so replaced it with a better quality one I had at hand: no luck either! Car works no matter what, but it's xmas lights all over the esc when sensor cable is plugged. Really no idea...

@Wooders28 GOT IT! At this point I thought I'd follow up and let you know

I had a feeling the issue could be in the motor. Took a deep breath and started taking apart a BL can for the first time. Soon after getting an idea of what was what, I found out that a miniscule resistor had fallen apart.

In the following pic you can see that the upper round board has two resistors, and one is missing

Here it is... this also was a first, as I've never soldered anything this small

Happy that I've succeeded, but most of all happy I've found the cause of the problem!!

Thanks a lot mate for the help anyway

Now it's fixed 🤪
