Does the rally cockpit fit the Escort MKII?

I have an Escort MK.II Rally showing up today (...I hope...).   Anyone know if the Tamiya 54491 rally car cockpit set fits this body?

The "hop up" area on Tamiya's site doesn't list this as a hop up so just checking.   May be hard to get ( i.e.   $$$ ) so if I decide to pull the trigger,  I want to be fairly sure it can work.

Im sure it will work but not as a direct fit as it was orignially designed for the larger chassis lancia delta, celica and escort cosworth shells - you will probably need to cut and shape it to get it to fit properly. Ive managed to succesfully fit one into a M06 chassis Alpine ok but had to cut bits off / add some styrene sheet bits where needed etc (but thats where the fun is)

this is the rally legends shell on a tt-01 it had to be choped to fit but hey its in there

I fit it to the Alfa Giulia Spring as well, so the Escort should be just fine

Thanks everyone.   Now my next challenge is to find one of these 54491's that's not half the price of the kit.   Anyone know any retailer that may have these in stock?

Oh well.   Turns out the pre-painted body on the current release of the MK.II comes with the windows pre-tinted  so a cockpit is a moot point on this one.  

Maybe I'll find a complete clear body set one day and do one with a cockpit. 

Oh, and if anyone is looking for some not-too-expensive in-stock option for an interior, I found a few at Hobby King of all places.
