I didn't do anything in 2021.

Confidently, (that's foretelling...) I tallied up the ebay expenditure; 11 tires (odd number, thanks to the trike), some new shells, motor mounts, 1 esc, 2 shocks, that kind of stuff.  It was $736??? How?!

I didn't even add Dynahead yet! With some paint, $310.

I was sure I built my Beetle Rally in 2020, but it was 2021. $153.  It got started with XV01, which was $268.

Toy grade Toyota FJ40, $57.  I spent $125 on spray cans and paint bottles?  A few servos, a respirator and some batteries cost $225 on Amazon?

Then there is the autogyro, roughly about $135.

The total came to be $2009.  hmm... that's 3 times more than I had expected... I really thought, "I didn't do much..."

Okay, I'm dumping this $15 kit into my wife's "house decoration" budget. That makes it $1994. (Phew, I'm so glad I slid it under $2000!)

I came to the same conclusion I did few years ago... for me, the yearly tally is a very bad idea...

Then again, that's the point of this thread, I suppose; Know thyself!

Maybe I should ask my wife to tip me $3 every time I bake a loaf!  But I bake only 1 loaf a week. $3 a week would only pay for the Beetle Rally.  I've been spending over 12 times that, like $38 a week. (That doesn't sound much, I'm surprised that it adds up to 2 grand a year.)

Now that I realized how much I spent, I should bake daily... "Hey, Jul, do you want that banana bread we finished in one day? Think of it as boy scout bread!"

Success! 😂

My spending is put in the “not driving my family mad by getting under their feet” column ;)

Actually, my wife is not an issue. I’ve spent a silly amount since my first purchase back in September and If she knew just how much she would probably be a bit dismayed and surprised but would quickly move on. I count myself lucky to have the money and the understanding.

I usually don’t spend too much money on my RC cars and generally keep it stock with few necessary upgrades. But one truck completely destroyed my budget, there are couple good aftermarket companies makes cool upgrades and scale stuff for the truck and one thing lead to another I ended up with $4k in upgrades. Kind of regret a bit it as now with so many expensive parts l’m afraid to run it, it now an expensive shelf queen.
I too ran out of space and budget and need to get rid stuff and agree with Markbt73 , selling is real pain. Auctions site eb*y they keep changing rules and dealing with dumb buyers it’s too much for me so I keep putting it off.

Have to ask which truck?  I can't even imagine $4k in upgrades existing for any RC vehicle.

This reminds me of a kid that spent nearly $30K to mod his 1:1 Suzuki Samurai decades ago.    We were joking he must be very afraid to tip that thing over.

The trx-6 in my show room. I ended up getting 2nd trx-6 truck for runner. I could easily spend more if I want to get scale engine compartment and remote light set kit. Etc..GRC keep coming out awesome hop up parts for this truck but I had to draw a line and stop..
