any one else playing with RC in the cold?  The HCT didn’t actually drive in the snow but it did get run in the cold. The other two are so much fun on top of the cold frozen snow!!

I used to run in snow a lot more, will still do it from time to time.  Have to be careful though, a lot easier to break old plastic in the cold...That Lunchbox was probably a blast on top of that frozen snow, that's the best snow to run in.

Quite the opposite here in Oz at the moment. It’s 30c and we are off to the beach later (once it cools) to have a drive on the sand!

Yes the LB was fun but nothing beats 4WD in the snow. So the thundershot is a blast

When I was a kid I primarily drove my cars in the winter. I think sports and neighborhood kids activities seemed to get in the way. But I always broke parts and I was constantly ordering parts trees that back in the 80s would take a couple weeks to get in. So now I don't drive in the cold. Too much hassle.

I run my cars in the cold all the time in Canada, with a little care I never have any issues with plastics even at -30°C :)

The snow is actually my favourite surface to run on, along with sand. Snow has the big bonus of cushioning the cars when they tumble, and there's no cleaning whatsoever to be done afterwards. Just make sure you thoroughly and properly dry up the cars when done and you're good.

Don’t take a TD4 out in the cold and snow, at least only if you intend to use one battery. Trying to insert a new battery with numb fingers not a good idea!!!

I use to drive my off-roaders all the time in the snow as a kid, but these days I don't look forward to cleaning my models so I run my cars indoors only.

In the 80's lots of kids in the neighborhood had RC cars so we got together and made tracks in our parents' back yards by packing snow and raced on that.  It was quite fun both making the track and driving on them. .. fast forward 2 days, most of us were sick with a fever.     then repeat.

I know they say these old plastics are brittle in sub freezing temps and I’m happy to report no issues!!  I don’t recall having more fun with RC than these today.  Like the HCT the falcon had to stay on the road due to the tires

But the sonic with its ag rear tires and spikey fronts tore it up!!

Here was a nice cold day RC activity that I enjoyed today:

Doing up my non box art body on the 58036 Audi Quattro Rally

it’s not as fun as driving RC in the snow but it sure was warmer.

I must have been using the wrong tires or too much power, because my Javelin just kept burying itself.

The snow consistency is crucial to running on the snow. Best is a little rain on top and the. A deep freeze. That gets the top super crusty and the car doesn’t fall in. Not all my rig have 4wd and even the ones that do are not big aggressive tires so I need to ride on top to make it work

Good picture all of them! But I'm not a fan of the cold and I hate snow:unsure: I don't even like the word snow it should be banned! So all my rc's get put away or back on the shelf winter for me is kit building and hop-up doing!

Snow was invented so we can have more fun.

I love a bit of snow. Brings out the kid in me every time. We'd be out there with truck wheels on buggies in a heartbeat, but down here in sw England we don't see it so often. Barely even a frost this winter, although we got a fun run this morning in a good one (son off school with a positive covid test 🙄).

Took my rally ta03f with me in the holidays.

The driving dynamics were perfect. Neutral to loose on turn in, rwd-like powerslides on half-throttle, gone too far they could be caught with massive throttle, going into huge 4wheel-drifts, stepping out on the brakes.... the torque control was superbly doing what it's absolutely best at. Regarding maintenance the car didnt get dirty a lot, just wet.

Taken the wheels of and dryed the wheel bearing via hairdryer, that's all (up to now).

I'd say for fun driving, snow is easily my favorite surface at the moment. Obviously not the deep one though.

The fluo yellow and blue also looked the part in the snow.

Looks like everyone is having fun in the snow! Makes me wish I had made the most of it while I still lived in England!

@Exit13 the Quattro looks awesome. Lovely work!
