Body Wishlist

Recommended Posts

By body wishlist, I mean 1/10 RC car body wishlist, in case you were thinking about a different type of body... ;)

It's 11 months until next Christmas but though about starting to wish & fantasize a bit early.

What bodies would you like Tamiya to release and on what chassis? I guess we can include re-re's but really looking to hear about new models.

I'll start with my wishlist, which limits itself to asking for 1/10 versions of sport cars Tamiya has already released in 1/24 (and therefore perhaps higher chances of already having a license).

Jaguar XJ-220 (TC-01)

128878-38257-15-pristine.jpg

Ferrari Mythos, with driver figure! (TC-01)

128521-10911-40-pristine.jpg

Porsche 959 (the classic rally version doesn't count :)) (TT-02 or TA)

128459-10911-68-720.jpg

I think Tamiya has never released a stand-alone body set unless it is/was already released as part of a kit, correct? I wonder if Tamiya is willing to explore releasing bodies without ever being part of a kit.

As a Czech and rally fan, I'd like to see some Škodas. It's brand with long history of rally racing, so there's something for each Tamiya rally chassis:

130RS and LR for the M06 or MF01X (rear engine, 2,4m wheelbase and 1,6m width of the original means almost perfect fit, although standard scale would be nice, too)

Favorit and Felicia for the M05Ra

Octavia and Fabia for XV01

That's never gonna happen, but one can dream, right?

Right on, I would love to see some Skodas too!! as a rally fan myself, I would love to see some of the yellow Seat rally cars as well, the Cordoba and the Ibiza, a rerelease of the Celica Gtfour with 1992 livery (and extra body parts, as well,  I have sorted the headlights thanks to L&L, but wing and mirrors are impossible to find). It would also be great to have some Dakar Rally cars using the XV01T chassis, I have a kyosho 2003 Mitsubishi Pajero/Montero body on that chasis and it look gorgeous

I agree, rally cars never disappoint!

A few 1/24 Tamiya's come to mind, would be great to port them to 1/10!

Lots of bodies released that were never part of a kit. Certainly in the 1/8 TGX/TGR range for instance I can think of a few. There have been others through the years like the Winger body etc.

Yes! I own a Cordoba (although newer, 6L model), so it'd be nice to have the WRC. Also, polycarbonate 257mm 037 and S4 would be nice.

I’m a Van Man. I’m on my second one now.  I’d love to have a 1:10 version…

But the Tamiya Mini bodies come at a premium due to discontinuation.  Luckily I have like 5 spares I hoarded before all gone back 5-6 years ago..

Yikes.. but I love those Mini’s. :D   I have a big stash of factory Mini wheels and tires too.. too bad my current space does not allow enough room to drive them fast enough.   Not sure what I’m going to do.. my garage floor is epoxied with flakes so too rough to drive there.. would have to put tiles down which can work but meh...   I have a big concrete driveway so I suppose I could drive there, but too many kids around the neighborhood and I don’t want the attention.

So my m-chassis just sits.. for years now.

Anyway, back to dream bodies!

That would indeed be amazing...and if one can dream then:

it would be a bit odd to see it zooming 300+ scale kph!

Very cool, with or without the flux capacitor? :) Hit 88mph and it would go up in smoke!

A dose of American muscle wouldn't hurt either!

The HPI transam bodies are not sufficiently detailed :(

I would love it with a Flux Capacitor. Maybe as Extraparts, i would also accept the Parts from any Company. I´m sure someone would make some parts if Tamiya would make a DeLorean :D

From the Muscle Cars i would love a Barracuda with a Fastback.

I'd like a Torana and a Falcon XB or XC.

Rereleasing a bunch of discontinued body sets would be great, like the Celicas, Subaru Crosstrek, Escort, and so on.

Absolutely love this!

A Renault 5 re-re-re with wide track to fill the arches would also be most welcome!

And I really cannot see why they couldn’t offer this…
